Mexico Fighting Scene

I myself am more of a KoF, and 3rd Strike person. Seems I’ll have to be doing a bit of searching when I go down, hopefully I can find a good location to play.

~Goodbye

it’s like some guy above said, in every arcade there are at least 5 kof machines, maybe one Tekken (mostly TTT) and some random Marvel vs series. i am one of the few that plays 3s and not a single kof game, so i’m not so sure about the real kof level. i’ll try to get some info/vids on the kof scene here in Peru cause i know we have really good comp when it comes to kof 2k2/98.

Well… i’m impressed to found out a “mexican scene” thread in srk. I rarely visit this forums, but is good to see. It’s been a long time since the tourney when Jwong came to mexico, I was in there. It was a really good tourney, too bad that jWong kick us.

I played with him like 4 - 5 matches, it was hard to play him, cause all the mexicans there wanted to play with him. we were like 70-80 trying to play him. Anyway, i don’t think the marvel level here is that bad, the problem is that there are good marvel players in here, but a lot of very very bad players, and Jwong got to play against a lot of scrubs. I think i’m a good marvel player, I finished 5th in this revo tourney, but didn’t play against Jwong, i was eliminated by “Mascota” one of the top players in here just a step away from the finals. And the only top player that justin play against with was this “mascota”, all of the others were like scrubs.

I see a lot of mexicans postin here but always from the north part of mexico. If you want to meet the real marvel2 power come to the south. Oaxaca, puebla, df, veracruz has good players. I’m from puebla and always available to a marvel challenge.

By the way, in here, in puebla lives the best kof players in all mexico, these ppl had won almost all of the tourneys they go, that’s a fact.

Another thing about mexican scene, the players in here are not really multigamers. The ones that play kof like gods, are scrubs on marvel and viceversa. few ppl plays 3rd strike, i play it, but i’m not very good, GG is like a phantom game, rarely seen.

Thats because in the south they have broken ass machines, Morelia has KOF 2k2 with infinite power bars lol. s.C max s.DxxSuper all damn day from them. Cinepolis is tight though. I miss morelia :frowning:

nice thread… and hi all… this is my first post ever at SRK. first time poster, long time fan/member kinda thing. in regards of the gaming scene here… i guess you’ve left out Tijuana and Mexicali… i guess there’s really not much to say right now, and i guess it’s fairly normal, but we excel at KOF (go fig…) we are trying to build up an mvc2 scene. and slowly but surely we’re gonna get there. and well… we hope be at southern mexico’s level someday… and then… the world!!! :looney: LOL:looney: …

btw… we’re holding up a tourney this april 1st here in tijuana everyone’s invited :wgrin:

Lol at seeing a thread like this and see El Paso’s name come up a few times.

But yea, another Juarez tourney happening supposedly, with normal settings, but I think it’s going to be hard to dash now! :frowning:

Holy crap I remember this thread. WEll I´m in spain now…another country that speaks spanish but I haven´t come across a SINGLE arcade. It´s very…frustrating.

Man…the arcades in Mexico were quite varied. There was some arcade chain that I used to hit up a lot. There were two of them in Queretaro but one had MvC2 and the other…had Marvel Vs. Capcom 1…kinda weird.

I also never saw a 3S machine.

Meh,here in Monterrey are only “kof2k2 super pakito and naco edition”

I want good fighters of GG,LB2,MB and 3S…but there’s nothing.

p.s. I once saw a 2nd impact machine in DF.

Also, in Tijuana a while back I remember playing either 2nd impact or new generation in a peter piper so that was pretty cool. I’d really like to see some strong 3S players. Or at least a 3S machine… I noticed that MvC1 is/was pretty popular. I don’t live there but go sometimes. (family lives there)

densha otoko is the man

u can do it, yamada, we believe in u.

Yeah he is! :bgrin: Such a great show…
“Please stop!”

I’d like to one day, perhaps, maybe go back home to DF and open up and arcade. That would be sick. I’d do everything up right. Make it world famous.

Your buissess would be quite successful. Alot of people don’t have Internet access and or have the money to buy consoles and video games. So most kids got to arcades to play.

True. And if you want the nerds to swarm over the place you just give us some wifi.

and albert_c, if you ever go on and do that, PM me; I want in.

Ontopic: Are there any arcades left in the DF besides the ones below the Zapata subway station? I wanna play CvS2, but I can’t find a cabinet anywhere since Metropolis shut down.

Is this still alive? all I get is a debug message.

any 3s players in tijuana/baja area?

  • I dont think that site is still up…*

If I can ever get away from California for a while I’ll definately consider it. Things are going we’ll for me here but I want to be around my peeps.

Do you guys think I could get people in DF to play EVO games like CVS2, 3S, ST, Tekken etc?

Yeah, I know at least 10 guys who are still heavy on these things. Specially MvC2.

If anything comes of this I’ll keep you and this thread updated. Thanks
