Not really seeing/getting proof that Mexico is supposedly at the same standing like Japan and Korea, although some people here may be inclined to believe.
So Justin Wong goes there to play Marvel or KOF? I only read posts of how he murdered people in Marvel.
“Play KOF?”
“Nah, I am tired and stuff… besides I like 98 better.”
at marvel mexico is not that great but in kof… let’s wait for the videos to see.
I think Justin Wong played both games but in kof he got his ass kicked.
according to tono justin didn’t want to play kof2002 because he liked 98 better. i think tono said that justin was too tired from the marvel tournament which lasted all day to play kof, iirc.
I wouldn’t blame Wong for not playing 2k2, because he’s right: 98 > 2k2
Mexican fighting scene… though there are good players in KOF and MvC2 (I don’t like this game, BTW, but I admit it, some players play it in a very good way), more than 80% of the players only play in those retarded KOF 2k2 bootlegs, with infinite bars and Rugal.
I’d really like to find serious Guilty Gear players
I’ve barely seen 1 GG Isuka (Cd. Mendoza, Ver.), 1 GGX1.5 and 1 GGXX (Distrito Federal)… played them, and the few guys that challenged me were very boring.
I was even LOLing when some guys told me “they were going to gangbang me” and we fought a 1 vs 3 game in PS2 Isuka. They didn’t even know the basics (they wanted to play it as if it was a KOF mixed with MvC2) and beating them wasn’t the great deal -_-
Oh, I forgot to say this: though there are good players in Mexico, there are also A LOT of bablers.
I was in the jungles of Quintana Roo recently, driving by this random little town with like thatched roof houses and stuff, when out of nowhere there was a Street Fighter machine in this one food place. I was just driving by so I didn’t get out and play, but man, talk about random. Cool, though.
 The last time I went to the Showtime in the mall, this little fat kid comes waddling up to the MvC2 machine (there aren’t any KoF’s in Showtime, no idea why) and starts playing. Now, being the idiot that I am,I figured “Hey, here is this little kid, I bet he’s not that good.” I was feeling sorry for my friend, who I had beaten just before hand, so I told him he should challenge the wee little child.
The first thing I see gets me worried. My friend picks Storm, Venom and someone else (I can’t remember who). Now, he’s not good with this team yet, and he doesn’t know how to play Storm (I don’t either) but I get very concerned. The little kid picks Cable, BB Hood, and another person. I can’t remember his third person because he never had to use him. This kid was great! I mean pulls off an air combo, with a super, then does it again while still in the air. BB Hood was no joke either, and I’m very glad I didn’t have to fight her.
It’s hard to say, but even fat little mexican kids are better than me at Marvel. sob
Hey man, I’ve played those 2k2 bootlegs. I even got lectured by an 11 year old named Francisco on how I wasn’t playing it right, and that he was going to help me. Still haven’t gotten the hang of those darn special moves. The bootlegs are fun and cheap, but I just wish that they had Guilty Gear and MvC2 on them.
On the matter of guilty gear, Hanabishi, have you seen any here? I was considering buying the game for my Xbox back home, but I’ve never played it.
Suicidal: GG in Queretaro? Oh, no, my friend. If there was ONE of them here, I wouldn’t complain about the really sad panorama of arcades here
I have to play in my XBox with other pals (I know that’s not enough, but… meh).
J.D.: GG arcades in Reynosa and Matamoros? My friends from there, and my pal Furix (he’s also from Brownsville) told me there aren’t any GG arcades there, and even if there are, the GG level would be shit
I had never heard of Guilty Gear before it released on Xbox (I’m a console gamer, what can I say?) but I never really considered the possibility that it would be on Arcade. It seems so different from any other arcade fighting game out right now.
-Supposedly, Queretaro was gonna get a GGX1.5 machine, but… nothing for now.
-I hang around at Showtime in Plaza del Parque, other local near the Atenas Gym (also near Plaza del Parque) and the arcades in Plaza las Americas. Dun remember any other place now.
Im from Texas right near the border. About 20 min from Brownsville. The closest youll get ANYTHING for GGXX#R is Harlingen and thats if they feel like playing but nobody really cares over in this city. There are like 3 players in Brownsville who I would say actually know what they are doing and there are like 6-8 here in harlingen who actually know what they are doing but hardly play we used to play alot but people got bored of #R mostly just play for fun. #R isnt a strong game here in the Rio Grande Valley like MVC2 or 3S is.
It makes me wonder, if there is any strong gaming scenes in Culican, Mexico.
I plan on visiting there later on this year in April, for some family parties. I got alot of family there and might as well hit up some Arcades while I’m down there. (If there is any)
I personally haven’t been to Culiacan, but I have family members there. One of my friends plays really good KOF. If you are into KOF, you know you will find competition there. As to other games, such as CVs2, MVC2, 3rd Strike, etc…, I have no idea.
This website is for Mvc2 related arcades andplayers in mexico city, those guys are really friendly and love playing mvc2, the name of the site translated means “The universe of mvc2” and the site itself has around 1000 members.
Its all in spanish but in the forums people speak english, you can get maps and general info of arcades in mexico city.
