There will be videos of the matches. And mexico did put up a fight with low tier characters. But justin to godly.
They went low tier on justin?
thats brave.
Some people manage to beat him during casual–probably the Mexican Champions, and during the tourny, another thing happened-Justin Rapes all!!! He even perfected someone, but haven’t heard any name of the Mexican player that got perfected. Someone beat him in 3rd strike too. I don’t know about other games. There will be videos too and pictures.

Unfortunately due to time restraints Marvel was able to play the KOF tournament. 76 players played in the tournament. SO it was a very good turn out. Regional and Major status.
To get to the questions asked me:
I’m just visiting Mexico, as my mother was invited to be resident director of a college exchange program here in Queretaro.
I’m glad to hear all this news about the MvC2 tourny and such. What I’ve noticed though, is that most mexicans who are good at KoF aren’t very good at Marvel. This is a shame, because at the arcade I visit here, it means that competition for me to get better at Marvel is scarce. Oh well.
I did go on a trip for three days to another town, where there was only 1 arcade. And it consisted of a 2 KoF machines, a hacked Xbox machine and a super nintendo/n64/playstation hacked machine. I spent my time on the Xbox machine, playing Metal Slug and then Marvel. Had a good time, and it was damn cheap too.
It’s a shame that the biggest arcade I’ve found here has the most problems with their machines. Wish the lady would repair the buttons on the MvC2 console. That way I could jab. But until then, I’ll keep you posted on the different arcades I find.
Yeah, most of the MvC 2 players in my area still play Wolverine (s)or Spider-Man as if it was still MvC 1. And some others still have the balls to pick Akuma. Go figure.
If you encounter a Cable player, don’t fear being hit by AHVB x 5. For most of the players, that is still beyond their grasp.
I play a scrubby Magneto/Sentinel/Cyclops, and I just own people with Sentinel’s assist ALONE. Another thing that most Mexican MvC 2 players don’t realize is the power of assists…
whoa!! :wow: Where the fuck are you playing??? Mabe just where you live but Mexico is way beyond that. I can’t wait untill the vids are ready so I can post them.
yeah we are.
i should say they are. i did not inherit the genes.
LOL, I entered a MVC2 tourney in Juarez not too long ago. Us americans just top-tiered them to death first day but second day it seemed they had seen the light and were bust AHVB*2 and shit. The gayest thing though is that the damage was set to one. We would let doom hit us, because blocking would have caused more damage! LOL Shit was gay though cause strider doom was the top of the top-tiers, chiping todos los dias. My friend O2K got third using storm/servbot/doom! It was like we were in another world. The top guy in Juarez had a tight strider/doom. And Ryu311Funk had to bust out with MSP to barely win in a time-out. It was a crazy tourney, last I heard they banned Storm and Sent because of us. It was clear that they hated storm LOL. Can anyone confirm this?? Oh, and for the most part Juarez was a year or two behind in MvC2, but it seems like they were progressing really quickly.
damn…didn’t know they had marvel tournaments in juarez…
I think you were just not in the right place to see mexico level :xeye:
Ive seen some places like durango with A LOT of scrubs
and some of them had a big mouth lol
I won 20 bucks over a guy who said he was the best in the state
so we played
and he used ryu strider capcom :xeye:
I dont even know how to play team z and I beat him with it
it was funny
J.D J.D cuando vas a aprender? LOL
Come to Cancun, Isla Mujeres if you want someone that can give you a good challenge in MvsC2 :karate:
Dam’n I got to go back to Mexico. Yeah I thought the tourney would have been in Juarez since it’s right on the line, plenty of El Paso players could have easily of gone. Who here is from Durango, the state not the city.
Well, I live in Leon, but it’s a given fact of nature that the best players are in the big 3 (Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey). You can stop counting after that… :bluu:
And it doesn’t help when I’m playing Mega Man/Iron Man/War Machine teams who just play for the sakes of getting a pretty high score…
Monterrey And Guadalajara?
looool
Dont make laugh
as what I know guadalajara players are onloy big mouth ones (im talkin bout the ones ive seen posdting in ca) and monterrey is oook, is not part of the big 3 (at least not in marvel)
as what I know, the best players are in oaxaca veracruz and mexico city
here where I live (In tamaulipas) we are good too, I think im good
but thats not because of the great level the state has, its because we are close to texas so I can get to tourneys like texas showdown and stuff
I live in matamoros, wich is one street away from brownsville
oh and HanzO
you should go to the natoional tourney in veracruz in december, it always gets good in there
I can’t read that Spanish shit. Translation/Synopsis plz
Well, now that I’m back in Queretaro, the first order of business was to hit up my regular arcade. So the marvel machine now has 3 broken buttons, two of which seem to have been put out of comission while I was gone. This was very maddening, as my friend beat me, getting the 2nd player sticks, which work completely. After managing to beat him, I continue on. I can’t beat the second stage in the single player on arcade! I feel so much like a scrub (cuz I am one) and I just started playing worse and worse.
Of course, here comes this mexican and all his little friends. He drops a coin in and challenges me. The fact that I was using Captain America/Stryder/Spiderman got me worried. I’m ok with Cap, but stryder is a weak point for me, and I’m considering dropping this team all together. Anyway he comes at me with Megaman Spiderman and Morrigan. Luckily for me, my Cap was better than his Mega, but when he switched out for Spidey, I lost. Played him twice, and nearly beat him once, if it wasn’t for the time!
I’ve underestimated the mexicans here, and I am now compeletely humbled. I’ll have to keep practicing, and I NEED A NEW TEAM!
Truer words have never been spoken. Just scrub that shit.
We don’t actually know Mexico’s level in anything because Mexico isn’t going to go out to Japan (and they shouldn’t have to anyway, Japan is damn racist) and Japan and Korea aren’t going to come to Mexico. The best bet would be if Evo was able to hold a definitive KOF tournament with Korea, Mexico, Japan and I guess Pakistan. It would basically be a true ‘World Championship’ for a fighting game. It won’t happen though, and Evo is too close for it to be done this year…or is it. shrug
The koreans aren’t even the best at KOF, it’s more of a myth than anything now. Japan was pretty scared of Korea the past few years, but Japan either won or held its own. I think Korea dominates in Tekken right now mostly.
