Mexico Fighting Scene

Back when I was in mexico KOF97 was the shit. But then I moved to the states and I dont see any KOF machines in my area.
So I play MVC2 instead, still like KOF though.

From what I hear Justin is already in Mexico. Revolution 2005 starts tomorrow.

I’ve also heard that JWong was also good at KOF games. I woudn’t mind seeing him play versus some of Mexico’s finest in that game.

Justin is now in mexico and is getting ready for the tourney tomorrow. He got a couple of practice rounds once he arrived in Mexico.

Man, how could I forget Pakistan? Pakistan is the shit at KOF.

I can’t wait until I have money. I’ma visit all the random places that play KOF to learn more about them … while getting a few rounds in during the process.

Yes, Jwong is beating some Mexicans right now :stuck_out_tongue: The tourny starts tomorrow, so we will have the results and videos some time soon. Stay tune for the videos and results at

Empire Arcade (jWong) vs Mexico

lol, well i i will confirm that the machines vary greatly from place to place, and yes we have arcade machines everywhere at every cornerstreet, and am not joking :wow: , but most are bootlegs, competition is good atleast in KOF.

I am the only good OVERALL player in the Isla Mujeres-CANCUN area. Many people are just usually impressed at how i am able to pick up any fighting game and own them for free, mind you i am not saying am the best player here in the state just one of the only few persons that can hold up pretty well in fighting games.I get along with the TOP players here in the ARCADE scene and they all agree.

I been working hard for months or ever since i moved here to get people to play other games other than KOF.

SO far i been teaching several people that Garou,SF3,GGXXR,Tekken5 are great games, they seen to dig it but it will take years for them to catch up.

IT would be nice to have tournaments all the time, even National Torunaments but people are kinda short on cash or barely make enough to survive and to eat, traveling is quite a luxury for most people here in mexico.

I will keep working hard on getting the SF3,GArou,GGXXR and tekken 5 scene here in CANCUN area.

Me too! Best I can do is play CvS2 with all SNK players!

You haven’t met me yet! then again I was born in the US so that’s my excuse…

So Sanford isn’t going huh, what about Ricky? And just out of curiosity is Ricky even from Mexico, that would be plus if he was, it’d much easier to get around. Where’s this tourney taking place Juarez?

The Tourney is taking place in Mexico City D.F

NeoGeo Battle Coliseum is your salvation

I hope so.

I read somewhere on orochinagi that most players think the best KoF 2002 tourney videos came from China and Brazil.

I think you really can’t tell in this game. Pakhistan, Mexico, Japan, Korea (this I didn’t know until now), and even France have great competitive players.

Maybe someday someone will run a world tourney, with national qualifiers at each country and stuff. Until then, it will be very hard to tell. The only thing we knows is that US has a lot to learn when it comes to KoF games.

Anybody know of any decent arcades in Baja California?

I live in San Diego, so BC Norte is close. I can take a trolley from my house and be in TJ in half an hour. Rosarito, Ensenada, San Felipe… all of those would be good. I’d love to take a trip down to Los Cabos too though, so if anyone knows of arcades down south that’s cool too.

Here is the situation with Santhrax. Santhrax could not go due to his paperwork. So I either had to send Xecutioner or Marvelous. Being that when representitives of Mexico IMed me to speak about having members of the Empire come out to Mexico, I told them that the tournament was too close to the Empire come back from Canada. However I told them that I would be able to send one player if the players had the time.

Santhrax was my first option as Marvelous said he was preparing for Evo.

Xecutioner was my second option but he had some issues concerning work.

Marvelous was my last option as he was the only one free although when he returns on Tuesday, that Saturday he as to go with me to Rhode Island for “Battle For Higher Ground” Tournament, then come back that night because the next day Sunday he has to come with me to MLG Philly. I asked Santhrax would he mind me sending Marvelous and he said “Send the best, you don’t know what is out in Mexico.” So I asked Marvel, and he said he can do, Revolution, Rhode Island, MLG Philly, and Evo. So I sent him.

The only thing that I am slighty bothered about is, that I thought it was just a marvel tournament. I didn’t know it was an event tournament with multiple games. So now he reps the Empire out there alone. Which is a bad thing, because we needed the entire Empire to defeat Canada…

I guess this will test Marvelous skills. He holds the Empire on his shoulders out in Mexico…alone.

Stand firm young marvel and rep to the fullest. Hail.

Wasn’t the tournament yesterday? Do mexicans not get internet on the weekends or what?

Marvel yesterday, KOF2002 today iirc…i wanna know how The Answer did in both games

edit - looks like Justin just became President of Mexico…aka he made like Sent and stomped everyone in Marvel

Justin came in first place.

Will post pics very soon…

Yeah, Justin walked all over that bitch la Sent.

Damnit, Mexico. Rape him in KOF or I will never live this down. ;_;

Will there be any vids of this tournament.
Did mexico even stand a chance against justin?
