If no one else volunteers to run a tournament I guess me and my brother can run a couple. I’m not sure if you remember me, but I ran all of 707 tilt tournaments(when you and alex were there) before I handed it over to tyler. Again I’m not volunteering outright, I’ll just do them if no one else wants to. I look forward to you guys getting cvs2.
What ever happened to the cvs2 and mvc2 that was at newpark tilt?
they got rid of all their fighting games when they moved to the upper level.

i came back recently to see if things have improved- and control wise they have so credit to you for keeping up on that. nothings perfect or near perfect, but its better than it was before.
Don’t know about the CVS2 or MVC2 from Newpark but I recognize the control panel on our **33" 3rd Strike **because I customized it. It came from Newpark by way of Socal.
Also, I’d like to hear everyone’s opinion on whether 360s belong on MVC2. Stiffer, slower response with no “diagonal corner feel” but reliable optics, that’s the trade-off. I prefer to hear from locals but everyone’s opinion will be considered.

I acutally have a favorable (albeit nostalgic) attitude towards TILTs I’ve encountered in my life. I’ve accepted the fact that fighters don’t bring in revenue like everything else that surrounds them (family games, ticket games, DDR/Beat, mini-golf/billiards), and that they usually cost more to upkeep due to repeated mashing. I’ll swing by and check it out if I’m ever in that part of town…
If you ever get a CVS2 machine, I’ll stop by for sure, just to check things out.
I’m praying this will workout for fighting fans…and I’ll try to stay positive and promote it.

Checked it out today, was very happy with it, 2 MvC2 cabinets, one 3s, and some DDR Extreme and ITG2 make a good enough arcade for me. Had some good 3s and MvC2 matches
About the sticks/controls, on the P2 side of the showcase cabinet for MvC2 (right next to the 3s one) the buttons are a bit messed up. Sometimes I’d hit HP and do kicks, couldn’t do dashes with PP, hopefully that gets fixed
And on the other MvC2 cabinet the joystick on the P2 side couldn’t block, not sure about the buttons

I’m gonna be in SF tomorrow for some interviews and i have a long lul period. Probably gonna be at the metreon around 11:00 or so and I’ll be leaving around 1. I can play marvel a bit, but I’m a bit better in 3s(not much).
When you get the chance please take a look at the 2nd player control stick on Third Strike. it sometimes fails to jump in either direction and while trying to block low attacks (also in either direction).

what kind of sticks are in the 3s cab?
It’s not just the diagonals, it’s the panel itself. The buttons are spaced waaaay too far apart. Although it was really cool see the old 707 tilt marvel layout(I thought chris made this), everyone who used to come to tournaments hated it back then. I guess I could deal with it if I had to. I’m not worried about the sticks(which were bad on showcase marvel and 3s) or anything, because those could be easily fixed pre-tournament.
So I checked it out this weekend. The controls for 3s seemd fine although it wouldnt hurt to get some different sticks like some 360s or something. It took a minute to adjust but everything worked at least.
My only complaint is THE SCREEN. It completely went out and came back on like 2-3 times for about 5-10 seconds. Also the picture quality itself is not good.

Haunts, I may have played you if you were there saturday. I haven’t played the game in roughly 3 years, so I got raped. I played a makoto, and ryu player who was there with another guy.
The screen went out a few times for me as well.
The 3S has 360s on it but the left side seems to be acting strange. The diagonals are difficult to find and keep, something I’ve never seen on an optical JS.
The screen problem is new, I’ll look into that.
OK, well now that I think about it I think I was only on 1p side the whole time… felt like there was no spring in it or something? I dont know. Parries were hella hard until I get used to it…
