Yeah. The whole point of the special + effect is to chop limbs off.
Been kinda staying away from this thread but now that im about to start my very hard file…i have a few questions

Why does Monsoon rape me so badly?? Like hes the only boss outside of the final one that really gave me trouble. Sundowner, mistral and Sam all got raped. Is there a trick to beating him I overlooked?? I should be more specific. I can parry all of his hidden mist jutsu strikes and most of his attack strings. I just cant hit his ass. The fight takes mad long for me to finish…smh.

Also on the escape from denver chapter. How do you stealth kill the squad with the hostage and gundam looking ug?

@joshkaz asked my question on the chapter 7 final squad. I cant remember where i got the 3d frames tho.

Edit: Monsoon has the best theme btw.

Man, the scene when you break sundowner’s shield and he snaps his two pincer blades together has to be my favorite “Oh, it’s on!” moment in the boss fights.
Welp, Revengeance Armstrong fisticuffs fight is even worse. Instead of every hit doing 50% on Very Hard, every one instakills you. Got him down to 99% and I still died. I’d pay money for them to make this subfight like it is on Normal/Hard and auto progressing once I die. Yes I’m bad. This fight is still fucking bullshit.

What’s auto progressing?

On normal or hard on this fight, once you died (well, .01% hp) the game moved to the cutscene where you mash buttons to Hyakuretsu Armstrong, which then moves to the final fight. Not on Very Hard or Revengeance. Nope. Gotta fight him to a seemingly random piece of HP, with bullshit goddamn hitboxes and a move or two that have no warning whatsoever. Every move he has kills you,
Fucking finally. He did a dashing kick at like 98% HP and I equipped a repair pack, did fucking 325% but I survived it and i’m now progressing. They can’t want you to take damage like that here, so how else can you trigger this? It’s fucking bullshit.
Beat Armstrong. My first time hitting every thing he threw at me in his last little event before dying. This fight has made my thumb a little more precise. Feels good.

What are you guys having trouble with? Hitting him? Normally you can just mash light attacks against him and just parry anything he does when he counter attacks. Use the Sai weapon when he’s in glowing mode or whatever. Fight is fairly straightforward.
Idk…im trying to get A’s and higher…and i cant get one on his fight. Only B’s…shits pissing me off. I didnt know the sai worked on him tho. Im mainly fighting him straight up with the standard HF blade. But thanks
Polearm does pretty good too.

WHOA WHOA WTF!!! VR Mission DLC pack has a mission in which you fight bare handed?! Best VR Mission of ALL TIME.

I think it has to do with the historical background JP companies have with console gaming. This gen has had a massive spike in western developed games for console and along with that came expectations for a cinematic experience. There are a truckload of western devs who make fun games but I’m talking about the usual suspects. Then you have long time JP devs who try to emulate the west only to lose half their essence. I’m not against certain games focusing on an emersive experience but good to know the companies you listed still cater to people looking for a “traditional” gameplay experience.

This is hilarious though:

At Rising’s wrap party, I had a short conversation with PG’s president, Minami-san.

Minami-san: I’m tired of that haircut.
