Started this shit on Very Hard and I’m kicking ass. Not baller enough to start on Revengence Mode though lol.

As for DmC, that game makes bad action game players feel like they are good. It’s probably the main appeal that game has for casuals.

I’m figuring out now that the 1st time you fight Armstrong (who may or may not be related to Jamestown) it’s SUPPOSED to always be brutal. On your subsequent playthroughs you can max out Explosion and wreck face.

Throwing my hat into the ring of deep throating this game

Ugh I have a friend on facebook who is ass at video games(the type that screams THIS IS BULLSHIT rather than learn to play) going off on how ass this game is. Despite the fact it is easily one of the best action games I’ve played since Bayonetta. I regret starting on normal, since I’ve only died once and that was being stupid. At the risk of sounding elitest(ho ho my name) I feel like this is the type of game that separate gamers and people who have been capsulized over the years of video game hand holding. Basically everything Platinum did in this game(save the camera which I admit can get so wonky in the middle of +6 enemies) is catered to EXACTLY what I wanted in a game. It rewards, patience, it rewards creativity, it makes you work for your prize, the bosses, the boss design accompanied by the soundtrack(timing the vocals PERFECTLY),ZERO padding, no busy work or bullshit to grind through, anything extra like the VR missions and the codec conversations which are rich add hours to the gameplay, sure the game might only be 7 hours long but those 7 hours are re playable as fuck it doesn’t register with me how he likes DmC but thinks this game is ass.

I’ll probably punch him in the face next time I see him though.

I really hated him at first, but then I started to really like how much of a struggle it was…and that definitely sounds like stockholm syndrome.
I feel you on that, jimmy. n472a is still doing his “perfect” DmC DMD run, and none of the other Action gods have dropped anything yet concerning Rising. Guess its up to the USA and our European brothers to be the godfathers of MGR tech.

We’ve already got Blade Mode Cancel and Option Select Parry/Dodge from our experts in this thread, so anyone that wants to go further has a good starting base for techniques, though.

I wouldn’t even complain if it didn’t insta-kill you. Nobody likes that shit Platinum.
Edit: I didn’t get killed just now & I missed it. Uh?

It amazes me how plain DmC feels compared to this just in design philosophy. This is why Iove Platinum. They take good ideas, expand on them, throw in tons of style, then just crank up the velocity to make sure they got your attention. Vanquish and Bayo had the same appeal for me. Subsequent playthroughs skipping cinematic lulls-----the action, pacing, little in fight cinematics, slicing—game just keeps u wound up all the way through. they even make QTEs flow during combat-plus you can visually follow the action, which is a feat in itself. Its like these guys study the genre’s faults and try to make shit flow and feel intuitive, and they pull it off amazingly well. More experience i get less i mind the camera, just like NG. Wouldnt mind option to turn off auto look centering, but getting better at lock on style. Might sound dumb but seeing the 4 button pattern in the same position for QTEs is much more fluid than not being able to watch the cinematic because im looking for a single button to pop up and draw my attention from visuals. Great music transitions depending on action changes…Great everything. The sheer hype of it is addictive

Okay, so, can every attack be canceled into parry?
[details=Spoiler] When that Dr was making Raiden choose between George and the kids getting gassed, George told Raiden it didn’t matter. Basically he had to cut George to kill the doctor since there wasn’t much time. George is fine with that and loves his new cyborg body while Raiden feels guilt later on. Most of the story is told in the codec conversations. [/details]

Great to see Bayonetta dodge offset technique return to Metal Gear Rising. It reminds me of how JCing became a staple of the DMC series, Platinum now has formed its own staples.

The defense option select is pretty cool and can help in tight situations where the camera gets a little wonky.
YESSSSSSSSS. I FUCKING DID IT LOL.
WE’RE DONE HERE.

Metal Gear Rising 2; 60 fps locked, better camera, no analog stick waggling, micheal has a full cyborg body, dual wields HF blades and is playable.
I’M READY.

[details=Spoiler]
I don’t remember anything about saying he could have children. I remember the convo and was it sounds Raiden cut him and the guy holding him in 2 and then used the organ preserving equipment in the previous room to keep George stable until Maverick/Doktor arrived
[/details]
