Sai seems like a GREAT support weapon and is probably better than the pole arm in certain situations. I’m sure once you max out your HF blade and the sai, the sai will become very useful, especially on harder difficulties.

Not really liking the pincers at all. :/

Then again, the game IS all about the sword. Secondary weapons are just that: secondary.
Brothers in Raiden what do the Data Storage pickups do
Pincer Blades dont suck at all, if they swung faster theyd be too OP lol. Like 4 swings on a certain boss fight with JTR mode and you won
Sooo has anyone dabbled around with the Cyborg Ninja sword yet? I just started the game and figure by the time I’m near the end of the first boss, I can buy it.
Oh yeah.

Yo that otaku guard = SWBeta. :))

Another photoshop coming, although not entirely related to what I posted in the spoiler. Definitely a SWBeta shop though. ;)
…This is going to be a long wait for me… I’d stop reading the thread but I cannot abandon the Official Church of MGR.

Yah I realize they are slow because they are powerful but I would have preferred they be fast and weak at some level, and then charging them obviously made them slower and more powerful. So that if I wanted to use them for faster swag combos I could or if I opted to use powerful attacks I charge them more (and yes I realize you can charge them as they are for stronger attacks just make the before charge swings less powerful but a lot faster)…
Sundowner
Spoiler
So whats the trick on Sundowner? I line up my fuckin Blade Mode slices where it tells me to and the the sheilds flip a coin as to whether or not they want to explode in my fucking face or not. It feels so random. There must be a trick to it.

You can just bug him. Start hiting him and when his block animation starts run to his back, continue slicing, parry his back hit slice some more and repeat until dead.

[details=Spoiler]I thought so too at first but it’s just super picky and the sword line can’t deviate outside of the hit boxes of the shield (the vulnerable parts). You just have to take your time and line it up accordingly.[/details]

I must say the 2nd boss fight of this game is one of my favorite boss fights in an action game. That entire sequence was just awesome.
I dunno man with that Chopper harassing my in the back round i keep getting fucked up when i try to maneuver around him an shit, especially those missiles it likes to shoot off from time to time…

Fuck man…I haven’t turned a game off due to a boss in years. I feel like I’m 14 again…

Edit: Tried checkin out Youtube for some tips but there’s just scrub play on Normal. That Helicopter shooting at you makes all the difference. Fuckin bastards annoying lol.

Well thanks Killy guess I just gotta get faster with the blade mode line ups. I’ll admit I been pretty lazy with practicing that, usually just lining it up with one stick and using square to slice. That doesn’t look to cut the mustard on Sundowner tho. Will have to practice aiming with both sticks.
Fucking hell that Monsoon fight
Monsoon was so fuckin bad ass.
All the boss fights get my dick hard. They are just too fucking godlike. Platinum Games really outdid themselves with the boss fights.
I’ve only played up to the Mistral fight so far, but I am digging the hell out of this game. Judging by everyone’s reactions the game is only going to get better from here on out and that is exactly what I hoped for. I’m a little rusty on my action gaming seeing as how I’m only scrubbing out B-Ranks with a few As mixed in, but I’ll get there soon.

Thank you, Based Platinum once again.

Aside from the Pincer Blades the weapons in this game are fast as fuck. A good slow heavy hitter is a nice change of pace, no need for the weapons to all be the same speedy blender blades everything else is. Sai is amazing for mobility, especially towards air born units.

There are support weapons, not main weapons, you’re not meant to rely on them.
PS3 fans - is this game available for DL on the PSN yet? I’m looking at the store now and while there’s an entry on the featured pages clicking on it just gives me a commercial and I can’t find it searching under Games -> New PS3 games or even All PS3 Games -> Sort by newest.

Honestly I think it’s fine that the sub-weapons take your Tri. attack. This game ISN’T about huge(emphasis on the huge since there is still room for combos) stylish combos, which is supported by the fact that there isn’t really any combo rating system outside of simply number of hits. I think the emphasis for high-level play is going to be simply about the quickest most efficient play. Obviously just by nature of the game there’s room for combos and crap, but I feel like that’s really only going to be seen in some cases. Most large enemies can’t be juggled at all, and for the basic enemies you don’t really want to spend that much time on them if you are going for S ranks.

If you’re trying to make a combo video or something then of course all that goes out the window, but yeah.

Cool, thanks for the info. I know PSN has been doing same-day digital releases and I know it’s out in America so I was concerned about it not being on PSN yet. Guess I just have to wait.
