I’ve played for about 3 hours and I’m at the sewer (on hard mode).

SO IM BASICALLY 3/4TH DONE W THE GAME RITE GAIS?

I can’t beat the last boss. First Zandatsu part is killing me every time. Help would be appreciated since I’m either the biggest idiot in the world or my game is bugged and this part is literally impossible. I’ve died probably ten to twelve times from this so far.

Last Boss
Spoiler
So I get Armstrong to the first Zandatsu part where he chucks a big pillar at you. I destroy the first part fine. Second part I cannot get three or four points to line up no matter how hard I try or take my time. Then I die. Am I missing something here?

Well fuck.

I find the story to be leagues more interesting than MGS4 and PW, both boring “wrap-up” games that rehashed crap from MGS3. This game makes a conscious effort to move FORWARD with the metal gear universe, and isn’t above itself to take a few jabs. There’s a bit of cheeseball humor, but I found it to be a bit refreshing instead of that semi-awkward pervert “humor” Kojima puts in. The game is slightly slapstick instead of slightly creepy. There’s even a part when you’re in a building, and a room has a poster of a japanese model with caution stickers covering every part but her head, which I found hilarious.

There are some things that could have been explained better (like, how the hell does Raiden get a new body so fast?), and the camera does do some odd things. Against that tank that slaps you, it slides around me and I cant follow it by rotating. Grr!

But, the power I feel as raiden fucking owns. (Also Grey Fox…gotta give it to them, that skin is fucking sexy.) I can almost forgive them for not putting in Skullsuit

So I just finished the game. I’d like to give full impressions, but I’m kind of tired and will probably post something up tomorrow. Overall I’d give the game 9/10. My only real gripe would be the camera would sometimes cause issues. Other than that, the game doesn’t really have any big flaws. Game length is not an issue since the game is meant to be replayed over and over like a typical stylish action game.

As an overall game experience, I’d put this over Bayonetta, although Bayo doesn’t have camera issues.

I think hands down the BEST part about this game is the BOSS FIGHTS. Seriously, these boss fights are the best, hypest fights I’ve ever experienced in an action game. Better than Bayonetta’s. Bayo’s fights felt epic, but MGR:R’s boss fights are hype as fuck. I absolutely love the music during the boss fights and love even more how the lyrics (as bad as they may be) kick in at the climax of the fight rather than the whole fight, sans the last boss.

GOD DAMN IT PLATINUM GAMES PLEASE HAVE MY BABIES FOREVER.
Yah I don’t get the plot complaints. The plot is pretty straight forward and quite hilarious at times. No need to have something that’s not something, mean something when it previously didn’t mean anything (MGS stories to me). I gotta say MGS3 had the best story IMO because the twists were not toooooo out of left field and of course the setting was perfectttt. I think people tend to forget how ridiculous MGS4 and MGS2’s plots were…

I’d say my main complaint about the game besides the camera, is that the pole arm is the only really fleshed out unique weapon. I love how they implemented that. BUT the pincer blades and sai’s SUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK. Part of me wishes there was an update that sped up the pincer blades (or a dlc that added moves to the sai…)
Pincer Blades suck? :(

Is there any way to fight the bosses after you’ve beaten them other than playing through an entire act again?

Well they are powerful but in terms of swag and flashy combos they just are too slow… Like if they sped it up I’d use them…

And no to the second part.
