Well, like I said, the Mario Tornado beating out Mach is only one of a number of features. Mario’s slow-ass fireballs really can make MK’s life a living hell if he wants to go on the offensive, and MK becomes incredibly paranoid of trying to kill if Mario ever charges FLUDD. MK’s a beast, but only when aggro. MK’s got no D.
It’s kinda why most characters struggle against him, they have a difficult time putting MK on defense. Mario DOES have the tools to do so, however.
Actually, most majors both in japan and in the US have been mostly won by C/D tier characters like Anji & Robo Ky. SBO was won by a May, Venom, and Robo Ky.
On topic though, this game hit SSB players really bad.
okay I just watched these great MK players wtf stop getting hit by shuttle loop all day long, its freaking obvious and its punishable. After seeing these vids I would like to play these ppl they don’t seem that amazing, and their MK doesn’t seem that great.
Watching a video of someone playing against an MK and actually playing against an MK are two totally different things.
can’t argue with that. Damn I wish someone I knew mained Mk 2 ppl alt him but its just not the same(well like 3 ppl do but they all suck at the game). Guess I gotta go to a tourny but going to a tourny just for smash seems like a waste and Im not really good enough at any other fighters(lol smash a fighter) to warrent me going there, gahh maybe Ill try to get better at GG.

So, wait, about Metaknight’s matchups…
Since I’m hearing conflicting things from people, I’d really like to know the definite answer to this question: in terms of matchups, does Metaknight simply have no bad-matchups, or does he have all good-matchups? Most people have told me that he simply has no bad-matchups, but fewer good matches than say, Snake, so, we can sorta compare this to Testament and Eddie in GGXX:AC. Eddie has no bad match-ups, per say, but he has fewer good match-ups than Testament, who does have some bad-matchups. On the other hand, I’ve heard from a couple people that he does in fact have good matchups against everyone.
So, what’s the general consensus, here?
The problem with MK is that you have players who aren’t that great sometimes beating players who ARE great.
MK closes that skill gap and that’s not good. Plus he is far too easy to pick up and play. And alot of his moves are just dumb. He has pokes that hit on frame 3 or 4 and have as much range as Marth’s attacks.
It’s dumb.
That’s very deceiving. I could have sworn that Marth had a longer range with his sword.
I believe that Meta Knight has no bad match ups, and has good match ups against a lot of characters. In Guilty Gear Eddie and Testament have no bad match ups, but the game is so balanced that it depends on the players skill. You can pretty much choose whoever you want. I’m sort of new to GG (Waits for XSamX)

MK’s d-tilt and f-tilt reach a little farther then Marth’s.
Er, Testament does have a few bad-matchups, but he has more good matchups than Eddie.
you got it right metaknight doesn’t really have any weaknesses, but he also has far less good matchups, compared to snake, I don’t like this banning of MK he IS beatable so I see no problem once you ban MK its going to be OMG snake is so broke lets ban him or whatever, and I just hope we don’t enter a cycle. Plus didn’t fox only have 2 bad matchups and falco 1 and the about 1/2 the matchups were even more one sided back in melee, Im sorry but waveshining was bullshit and even with that and all the other OMG good things fox had, they didn’t ban fox.
Im not to frustrated though cause I main ZSS so it will not affect me too much my worst matchups are still around (damn you high tier).
That’s not true at all, mk having no bad matches LOL.
Snake is mk’s worst matchup by far he can ko mk from 20% fairly easily and mk usually has to get snake at around 150% to reliably ko so it’s not impossible or anything but it is a huge uphill battle for the mk player. Marth is a bad matchup for mk too people will argue by how much but trust me marth’s disjointed hitboxes n tippers give him a slight edge over mk. DK is a bad matchup for mk too he like snake can absorb all the damage mk dishes out and then just kill him on the ground or even in the air with bair, zss does pretty good against mk as well.

Not true at all. I main both and tl is not that bad off against mk even if the mk user tornado spams I’ve beaten a few decent mk’s with tl before and it’s nothing like those 2 matches.

Stop making MK out to be some sort of god. He’s not, by any means, unbeatable. He HAS bad matchups. He also has a lot of good ones. He’s also not, in any way shape or form, so broken that there’s no chance of beating him.

But on topic, I have no doubt that MK has bad match ups.
I believe he does have trouble against Snake… I think.
Yoshi and Snake both have the advantage on him.
Also, if you ledgestall w/several characters you can have a rather good matchup.
But you guys! You guys! SWF is thinking of banning Meta Knight, and you all know that they are the undisputed gods of Brawl. :rolleyes:
