But at the same time…these games ARE getting exposure…after awhile games that get a lot of exposure I feel its time to change the pace a little bit…
Seeing the same thing time and time again gets old fast and stale…so whether its casuals or anything you gotta add it in there.
Many of you it seems aren’t keeping up with the changes in my thread and my System of working things…so without further adieu until you know what is going on with how I run things please do not comment on what I should and shouldnt do… In other words if you aint contributing to my thread when I ask for suggestions and inputs then its hard to me to take what you are saying now…
As I say I got a Tier list from S to Bottom tier of SNK games and how I plan to promote them etc…
Go back and read that and then we can talk…that goes for everyone…
Josh and Keits always give their input…hence I value their opinion.
I got the system worked out…and most agree with it…
as a Kain player i firmly agree with this. a certain 3s player a few C3 local’s ago who shall remain nameless called me “cheap” and tried to jump in my ass about playing him when he’s NOT EVEN NEAR the best character in that game, Kevin rapes him for free. probably the one time where the severe, dire lack of knowledge about SNK high level play on the east coast actually kind of pissed me off.
“1. Asian worship. This is the same disease that commonly afflicts the Guilty Gear community - the idea that whatever Japan (& China in SNK’s case) does is the best way to do it. This is what has led many GGXX players to seriously argue for team tournaments (and even a couple to argue for single-elimination tournaments!), and it is what has led to many of the various bans for SNK games.”
I love asian women
I look at what japan does as what we need to play like in terms of skill. As far as teams go most of us prefer it because its much more fun and intertaining to whatch. We already have our singles to deturming the best but as far as majors, it would be much better for spectators to enjoy teams. There is also more hype built into this.
I understand believe me I do. But put yourself in my shoes…I’ve heard this same type of stuff or similar in aversion to NGBC…but I did not give up…people called it “SVC2”, which is a obvious disservice to the game…you have no idea what I have had to fight to get NGBC the respect it deserves…
I’d soooo help out in any way I could. I’d already be coming so you’d be blessed with my presence and my new and improved “crossup machine” Gato.:annoy:
see, this is why i think Ben Herman is a bitch.
you can release the games over here as budget titles to try and get market share, but you don’t build any kind of community? wtf, seriously.
Falcoon GOES to the arcades over there, he gets top player input ( from what I understand players like Kaoru and Keeroc who placed high at SBO in SNK titles were brought in to help test KOF MIRA ), he has events like the SNK New Years party with national tournaments featured on the big screen, he has his company do all this. what has Ben Herman done? it’s like, at least Capcom put up money at Evo, SNK USA hasn’t done shit except put games out. where is their PR? where’s the promotion? you used to have crazy promotion and marketing strats from SNK, remember the Neo Geo ad with the two steel balls that said “you need a set of these to play one of these”? what happened to that shit?
Orochizoolander- What I see in the 98UM thread is people arguing about who should be banned and who shouldnt BEFORE ANYONE HAS PLAYED THE DAMN GAME. That just boggles my mind.
**4649-**You speak the truth. I’ve worked hard this past year to get people looking at games they never wouldve looked at… **NGBC was doomed **if it didnt continue to get promotion and I didnt keep pushing it down peoples throats…or hype shit up like “Triad Showdown series”, me vs. Mago…other shit…
Many of you forgot the roots of these prominent games we have here among us…
difference is…NGBC i a worthy stable tournament game right off the production line on its own almost killed by both the immense failure of SvC and the bright and shiny second coming of Kyo aka KOFxi. NGBC was basically a placeholder until KOFxi and that hella pissed me off forever and a day.
i agree with your list except LB2 but only because i have a few extra of my own to throw in - Samurai Shodown Zero Special (with original sure killing techniques) and World Heroes Perfect (i cant play WHP, its just too different to me now since most of everything is being uncovered it just gets to be too much for me…i just like to Tornado Breaker and Super Dangerous Giant Breaker people)
edit - FF3 COULD & SHOULD be a competitive game since its not broken like Real Bout 1 but it uses a slightly more modern system than Fatal Fury Special
edit 2 - picking up roommate will return to thread momentarily
I think my list is real good, it contains most games that ACTUALLY have proper scenes and competitive play.
I’ve researched the competitiveness of most of SNK’s popular titles, and the games I listed always win.
Evo has 8 games per year. I tried to get close to that, but I stopped at 6 so I could get suggestions.
I guess the other game that could be added are:
Samurai Showdown V
Real Bout Fatal Fury II
World Heroes Perfect
KOF Maximum Impact Regulation A
Since this has turned into an ideal SNK lineup thread, and I was asked;
My philosophy on this has been to A.) choose games that are competitively sound and B.) be diverse. The definition of competitively sound can vary from player to player, but for me, its a game that shows a high level of polish and enough balance, while requiring little to no banning of characters/techniques.
These are not in any order of importance either. That all boils down to preference.
1.) Traditional KoF game. You’d slot in K0F98, 2k2, or Neowave here. Instead of telling you that 98 is the best of those three by FAR, ill tell you that 98UM is coming and I’d just slot that one in and shut everyone up about it. Eolith era KoF was BAD, people.
2.) New KoF game. KoFXI goes here, even though I dont think it fits my ‘competitively sound’ descriptor. Hopefully KoFXII is better.
3.) 3d KoF game. MIRA goes here. Its actually really good.
4.) SamSho game - Slot in SamSho 5 Special here… WHOOPS! Cant do that. No available home versions. So, we play Tenka instead (which is good, but not as good).
5.) World Heroes Perfect - This is the best game you’ve never played. I realize that I only got into it because I won it at evo and had a whim to see what was really there… and I found one of the most fun and interesting and BALANCED fighting games of all time.
6.) Breaker’s Revenge - Another game that is just FUN to put your hands on, and has no real issues.
7.) Garou - FUN! Balanced!
8.) Real Bout 2 - Another interesting game with a lot of depth.
9.) Wildcard NGBC in, too. Its fun to play, though I feel it has a few issues. Like many, if not all, fighting game series… they rarely get it right the first try. Perhaps NGBC2 will be amazing, yeah?
Fixed.
Not hidden anymore.
I mean, I listed 9 games up there. If I had my pick of 6, like everyone else is doing, id choose:
98 or 98UM
WHP
Breaker’s
Garou
RB2
SamSho5s or Tenka
Lovely variety! Nothing from the same series, even, except the fatal fury games (and those are quite a departure from eachother).
