It’s funny because the original pitch for the OG Mega Man show was closer in look and tone to the original games’ artwork, but, surprise, surprise, Capcpom asked them to retool it to appeal more to “western audiences”…

The smartest and simplest thing to do would be to remix the classic MM tunes, but they’ll just get some clown to get his Bruce Faulconer on and beat some bleeps and bloops out on a Casio and call it a soundtrack.
This series is going to require 2 things only.
Good character personalities.
Good adventures.
The megaman universe writes itself honestly, and they have 130 games as a frame of reference for a competent story. As long as the make characters like roll likable, the show will be at least good.
tbh i can see roll becoming a fan favorite character easily. the likability writes itself.

If it can maintain a similar tone to the Mega Man comic, it could be very good.
The john cena cable in generator rex was bad ass. That whole series was pretty fucking on point.
If they do a series based on X than Mega Man might as well not be in it. Save everyone the time and hand the keys over to robo jesus.
Never watched Generator Rex unfortunately, but Ben 10 was cool until it got changed 10 times.

Well, that’s what adaptations are for. They don’t have to rip the story line-by-line from the games. They can tweak things such that X and Zero get equal spotlight.
I never liked Ben Ten. Too repetitive. They basically used the same damn plot formula every single episode. “Oh no! I really need to turn into the big strong guy, but through horrible irony, I turned into the small weak guy instead! What are the odds?” However, I will not downplay the series’ animation quality, and the art style definitely lines up well with Megaman. I won’t hold any hope that this cartoon will be good, but I will definitely keep an eye out for it.
There is no such thing as equal spotlight with Zero. That fucker consumes the spotlight like John Cena against a popular, up-and-coming young wrestler.
He WILL take over in whatever environment he’s placed in. He’s the true Sigma Virus.
