Welp i trust these niggas with it. I just wonder which universe they are gonna adapt. I would love for it to be X since we did get a series for Starforce and NT Warrior
I need to actually watch Rex from start to end. Yeah idk if this thread will be taken down because the cartoon was posed about in VG General but i saw the post after I made this.
But yeah I think Legends could be translated well. But man an X series though…
Also hopefully Capcom will put Legends 1&2 on PSN. I mean fuck they put x4 & x5 i think. They got classic megamans, battle networks, and the zero games on eshop. they got TRON BONNE on PSN but not the legends games…
Capcom needs to realize they can make another megaman and still make a profit. Megaman is a platformer so don’t put as much money into it as say one would for something like Uncharted, but a platformer on console can still be worth full retail price today and 3d World proved it.
I’m torn though. Generator Rex was well crafted, as was the OG Ben 10. But MoA is stubborn considering that they did their best to nuke any sort of character development for Ben in Omniverse, almost as if saying the inbetween series didn’t happen.
Omniverse is the silly one right? I don’t even count that shit. I thought it was a spin off or something because Ben looked younger than he did in Alien Force, unless I got the series mixed up
Pretty much. It has some good elements but ultimately it felt like MoA wanted to retcon everything that they could. Which would be fine other than the part where he acts like he’s still 10 half the time.
I’m not hopeful about Man of Action. They wrote the worst episodes Avengers: EMH in the second half of the second season, and largely responsible for Avengers Assemble and Ultimate Spider-Man. Mega Man still catching Ls.
On the plus side this could revitalize the franchise and get a new generation of people interested on Megaman games, the downside is that this doesn’t necessarily translates into new plattform games like the classic and X series.
Everybody’s attempting to resurrect Megaman, Capcom’s trying to kill him off. Who’s the bad guy in this situation? Does Capcom know something we don’t?
Capcom isn’t killing Mega Man. They continue to merchandise Mega Man because there’s still money in that. Square and Namco like to pimp out merch with Space Invaders and Pac-Man respectively and how often do either series get games?
What I think is happening is that the Mega Man brand was weak after it got run into the ground with endless barely-incremental sequels. So Capcom is slowly revitalizing the brand through lower risk auxiliary media like the comic books, Smash Bros, and now this latest cartoon. Until bam, Mega Man is actually popular again (and with people who don’t have the nostalgia of growing up with him on the NES), and now there’s a market for a game.
Because if it really was down to Capcom being suicidally incompetent and actively trying to kill the brand, they wouldn’t even license these spinoffs in the first place.
