Koopsta if you’re talking about who I think you were, that guy has been playing Maki since the first day the game came out.
I play top tier in tournaments because I don’t have a choice. Everyone else is using them and I don’t have the skill to beat them with whoever I want, so I have to even things out by picking my own Blanka.
But I don’t blame them for their characters. Whatever reason they have for who they pick, is it my place to decide who others are supposed to use? Man that’s taking things too far when you start getting all religious about characters and shit. I didn’t know there was a set of morals we all had to follow. Anyways instead of blaming them for who they use I am big enough to admit that I just don’t have the skills to beat them with my favorite team. Something you all should consider. Like I said. Arturo comes down to Gametime (he won’t be here this weekend btw) and doesn’t use any top tier and still rocks everyone no matter who they use. So thats proof right there that it’s you not the characters not the game.
Also. “Top tier” characters are usually more fun to play than lower tier because you can do more with them.
Oh yea, the top players here would still be the best even if everyone used top tier. so whining about characters is just a cop out. I’ll be at GT today let’s all have fun and stop the hating ok. And if you want to use top tier characters, we’ll welcome the challenge and give you the best fight we can, regardless, because that is how Va does it.

Well lets put it this way: Top Tier = Sagat, Blanka, M. Bison, and Ryu(smile). I used to complain about the shit a lot, but then (as I said before), I can’t complain about local players using them cause they are in the game and thats just the way things are. The only thing that I am a loud to do is to use my skills to speak for me.
BLT has a good point about Arturo and it is true that he has skills and he doesn’t use any of those top tiers anymore(lol) as everyone feels that they are.
Note: Hell even I started using Sagat for a while and was like wtf am I doing, but that was only because I couldn’t find a way to get past Sagat on my own. So now I promised my self that I would never play them cause that is just not me. I mean I feel wierd when I use them.
Estuardo: has skills. He doesn’t play with any of the lower tier teams when its tournament time, but its apparent that he wouldn’t have difficulty winning with them either.

To me this whole thing was just why do you play the characters that you all play? For what reason do you(whoever answers) like to play cvs2 with -> insert characters here.
If no one has started then let me be the first to begin: I play Ryu, Ken, Iori(now because of Hanif). I play Ryu because hands down he is just the man. I play Ken cause without Ryu there would be no Ken. Iori because of Hanif showing some rush down shit that I didn’t know that he had so I definitely got to give props where props is due.

I also wanna say if I offened anyone by the way I worded my question then I didn’t mean to. I just wanted to know why you, play the people you do and that was it. I was not trying to cause a big argument or make some think they are better at the game than others I just wanted my question answered and out of about 50 are so replies only about 5-6 people answered it correctly.

Just got back into playing at the DC area arcades (spent allot of years to trashed after Friday, and Sat at Nations) so will someone give me the scoop on the following:
Basically I am looking for an excuse not to have to drive to NY for a fight, from what I have seen this area is pretty dry, it was all the time growing up, but it would be so much better not to have to take a trip to play. For those who didn’t know D&B on Rockville Pike has SF2HF. The sticks are horrible though, but since you have to be 21 to get in you can drink while you play, and it tends to keep the riff raff out, but you have to know when to go for a decent player, right now I just go with friends from work.
This is what I posted…the only part I can see her attacking me for in the last line…which wasnt directed @ her…since I never posted her name ANYWHERE in this post…I was referring to the conversation and she was the one talking about it…
so she took offense…
To those defending her…let her fight her own battles…if she is misunderstood then she should correct it…

LOL, it’s funny how people don’t read questions and just spout off what they want to say. Anyway on to your answer.
Why do I use who I do…depends on the match. If I am playing for fun I play the characters that I enjoy playing with the most, and pick a fun groove. At no time will I ever use a character that sucks, however I may use ones that aren’t what most consider top tier. Keep in mind that all tiers are is a paper theoretical list of how a character stands up. When you take into account a persons dexterity and play style all this changes and that piece of paper doesn’t mean shit. Your tiers are extremely subjective and the list shifts and reorganizes itself to the player at hand. While Sagat is unbalanced, you may not be able to use him as well as you could another character. In application tiers are extremely subjective and this is good to remember. When playing for money I use the characters I know I can be milk to the cheapest possible extent.
Why do I play the game? I grew up playing it in middle school and high school. It’s easy and fun, plus I take great pleasure out of messing with people and it is easy to do it in SF. Plus it’s a hobby, you can play a game at lunch, and the looser pays for lunch (ala my work). It’s just really a time killer for work days when you don’t have time to do something else.

Athena- When CvS 2 came out HERE i rarely saw a athena user. So to be different like i am i started training (and still is) with her. just her uniqueness she brings to the game
Vega (claw) - again since champion edition. the range an that wall dive made me wanna use this cat. plus he is a pimp that dont giva flyin fucc bout these hoes…
Guile- my main man…my money maker…that guy that will get on your nerves. the first guy i used in SF2 because of that hair…and that wicked jab he use to have (but not anymore, the jab now looks lame). When I say i have this guy down pat…i have this guy down pat.
Ryu- my mystery character. After taking a lovly azz whooping up in new york, houston an miami, i wuz givin tips an tatics to keep my Ryu pimpin any other character in the game.

i use hibiki,blanka,sagat,chun,cammy,vega,bison,rugal,ken,ryu,ummmmm i think thats it i’m a top tier whore i used to use lower tier but then i had to make the switch… but i was good with my original team haomoru,hibiki,chun did very well until a wise man named Eddie said switch to Sagat…that was the beggining of the end
