Nagga plz?? For one, there are definitely not 40 people that live within the area that can play competitively, nor 30. MAYBE 20, if you want to include every player that has never entered a tourney in like a year or two. You really expect them to come out and play? I don’t. They’ve moved onto to other things more power to them. You realize at some point, people are allowed to stop playing a game?
Every single C3 Ive ever come to, I have a dreamcast, vmu, and a working stick, except for maybe the last one where my converter was stolen yet again so now I have none.
As to the personal insults, what fun is it really for us 6-8 marvel players that there actually are to play us 6 over and over again in tourney. Im not gonna be a pussy, Ill name names. Heres who might be in a tourney that is a c3 regular:

the only other player worth anything in the area as far as im concerned is Pete, and he can’t drive, and has been busy with school for years just like I was until recently. No offense to Pat’s long list of VA players , half of whom Ive never actually seen enter a tourney or even play the game AT ALL, and a quarter of whom I haven’t seen in years. I would love to see you guys step up, but besides the people I listed there’s essentially no comp.
You think its fun to beat up on Team Steroids or Team Big Guys or Team Shitty in tourney? How are you talking shit when you don’t even try just like every other player? Players in this area either punk out, or have a million complaints about the game, just like cvs2. Oh jwong so good. Oh it moves so fast. oh Isaac graham will win it for free no point. Oh that games so broken. (now cvs2) Oh it moves so slow. Oh its so boring. Theyre gonna stick to 3s so they can random out a parry and feel good about themselves. Why would Isaac or me or whoever else you are pussily insinuating remarks against even bother? We can play casual all day and get much much much more out of it. I dont give a fuck about a 40 dollar prize if theres nothing in it. If we wait and sign up, then MAYBE some of the pussies who are scared of getting bodied by rape will man up and put some money in the pot. I mean its obviously a fucking given that the real marvel players are gonna play in the tournament if its worth so please be for real.
First we lost Will, which brutally crippled the MD scene in all games. When Isaac elevated us, that was basically the last glimmer. Even still, the hardcore scene was Me Isaac Pete. VA had its core with the mexicans that are still there, and of the ones that still play, they basically come out, but they don’t have anyone to play so why stay? Do you even remember who was in the 5on5 MD/VA we had at the time? None of these people. Many moved on. Because Isaac was so sociable and played with many people, a lot of them claimed they would “play MvC2”, but they all eventually came with some variation of one of the above complaints. Exodus and Shinshay come to mind. But they are grown men capable of forming their own opinion about what theyre going to play, I don’t hate on them for it one bit.
I mean the same behavior is in this thread. You see the people that say they hate marvel are willing to put up $20 at the next c3 against somebody just because you know they suck? Where the fuck is the heart in that? I see plenty of people play when they’re playing a scrub, aka “for fun”, but they are generally over in 3s-land come tourney time. But thats their prerogative.
I routinely enter games at C3 that I dont even play outside of tourney (ggac, 3s) and I’m just throwing money in the pot, so its not as if Im “a poor bastard” who cant pony up 5 dollars. I stopped putting my money into mvc2 because im not a fuckin idiot. You said it yourself, people aren’t going to sign up. But I don’t go around bitching about it or pointing fingers, I accept that people are gonna play what theyre gonna play.
