the problem with this thread is that alot of the talking on this thread is coming from retired mvc2 players or players that are not or never were on a competitive level…and Tornado…you can never take Mr mendoza from us…ahahahah pm me as well…FRXXXXXXXXXX

i dont know where i fit as far as that, because i play retired players that come from tourney backgrounds, im not a scrub, but at the same time, im not placing yet/there are still holes im my game…but its whatever i dont consider myself a part of what ur saying…shit i was playin shinshay just yesterday!
(albeit i know hes a 3S player,but so what his sent is on point)

i played a little bit of marvel in 05/06, not really too good at the game on a completive level. but i do enjoy watching it and playing casuals.

i do agree that playing just one fighting game gets boring after time, not saying marvel, but any of them(cvs,3s etc). 3s has a big draw at events, but it dosent have the hype or drama as mvc2 imo. every years theres a story/or hype surround marvel. i think marvel is the funnest game to watch at tourneys. the only ppl who dont like to at least watch it most not either understand it or play it at all.

but i am happy say that the EC is dominant in mvc2. not saying the WC isnt good, but yeah.

maybe i should start fucking around with marvel again.

ANY game is repetitive, end of story. The only reason Marvel became “boring,” is because people let it. That goes for any game though. There’s more fighters out there than you can imagine and we’re not kids anymore who can do 20 minutes of homework and then spend the rest of the time playing video games, so why not just stick to Marvel or something.

i play 3s the most at the moment, i dont play mvc2, but showing love on this thread. so we all aren’t bias or fanboys. marvel is one of games that is keeping the arcades on their deathbeds alive today.

when we first got rid of or marvel machine, i saw everyone leave and i didnt see them for months, but when got it back, they all appeared again.

so why not just let players play whatever they feel like playing instead of being bias mvc2 fanboys.

A good Marvel player knows that when the stick says fierce punch, it’s actually assist 1.

imo, a good marvel player:

1. has a sense of offensive/defensive rhythm
2. uses assists safely to prevent snapouts to assist kills or assist/point hc-dhc punish
3. more than likely has their own stick and plays with it
4. can execute their attacks/combos/strategies w/ near perfect execution
5. can adapt to play virtually any team strat…has a working knowledge of team strengths and weaknesses (this does not mean they use a variety of mvc2 teams, but moreso the team(s) that they do play are versatile)
6. is familiar with the recovery time and hitbox of characters heavys, special moves, hcs, and popular assist types (at the least)
7. has a sound idea of attack frames of character’s better pokes
8. knows the essentials of marvel’s engine
9. understands that bacon is the popular meat choice of SRK for some odd reason -_-
10. has had the chance to share some matches with other marvel players to further gauge their skill
11. how to block most offensive chains and adapt to new ones fairly quickly

i UNDERSTAND the bacon obsession, i just don’t know WHY it’s an obsession, but i can kinda pinpoint the root cause to B1GAZN -_-
