Yeah…there’s a pretty long stun on her c.MP. Just input c.LK, c.MP and you have all day to confirm into super.
hey, dammit, hippos are tight
whatchu know bout that dino thunder, son

why are there so many explosions in this video
too good!!!
i hope next time i go to a tournament in the finals they have random intros for the players with explosions behind them like this
If remeber correctly, Ibuki still has a retarded cMP -> SA3. Or is it 2? Whichever one does all the knives on the ground and then she dashes back and forth. If that super had 2 stocks it would be her super of choice because it beats out fireballs/random laggy pokes. At least, that’s my opinion. You can’t really whiff anything against her if she has meter with that super.
But 3S sucks. Why are we talking about that shitty game in this thread?
It’s SA.3. But c.MP is a shitty move. It’s only half decent for zoning.
But you’re right, if it had 2 stocks it’d be the super of choice (even if they were large bars). For now, SA.1 wins.
For real, let’s talk about bitches and cars.
Ibuki’s c.MP in 3S is not as good as the one in 2I. It has a bit of start up and doesn’t chain after a low short like the one in 2I did. So you can’t really verify off of a low attack into her SA3. Random low short to super is a combo but it can’t be verified. Luckily the super is safe on block so you can kinda gamble with it and still be safe if the super doesn’t connect. The super is good for taking out random pokes and what not. Most Japanese players prefer to use it against Oro to keep him from trying random activate with Tengu Stone and to stop his crazy zoning game. Can’t use EX spin kicks on Oro any ways (too short).
That may be. But you can c.LK, c.LK, SA.3 if you have good timing.
Also UOH, c.LK, SA.3
and toward+MK, c.SK, SA.3 (or toward+MK, MP, link SA.3)
Hell, toward+MK and/or MP link into SA.3 are like the easiest hit confirms ever (minus Chun’s back+MP).
There’s like a bazillion ways to confirm into Ibuki’s SA.3, but it’s still not the best choice without 2 stocks.
That’s why I don’t play 3rd Strike. Everyone sucks but the characters that are good!
Of course, you guys get constant comp. Me? I’m screwed. Unless I really get crazy with my theory fighter or just become 99% accurate on combos, I’ll never get anywhere. Damn you money, for taking me away from video games!
So what should I be working on over here? What game? I don’t get much free time, and most of that I spend either playing DQ VIII, watching DVDs, or writing. When I do get the urge to play fighters I never know what to work on in them anymore. I think I’ll just concentrate on being able to make racist comments during matches to throw my opponents off rather than developing any actual gaming skills. It seems to work with Kimmicks pretty often.
Hey Kimmicks, got any hot chicks from Koreatown that want a hot white guy? I know asian girls normally go for black dudes, but they can make an exception, right?
as long as you hide the fact that you hate them, should be all good.
Isn’t that the case in most fighting games. In 3rd Strike all the characters can win really. In Japan there are arcades where people pick nothing but low tiers. There’s a much higher probability of a lower tier winning in 3S than there is in say CVS2 or MVC2. It’s just that the high tiers are still um…high up. They are definitely beatable by just about any character though. The finals for SBO6 included Goemon, Match and Kokujin (Yang, Akuma, Dudley respectively) split between 2 different teams (plus Ken, Yun, Chun). 3 characters that are clearly not top tier were in the finals. Nobody in the US can really play the lower tiers at the level that they can in Japan.
Results from Evo are really just a result of top players who happen to use top tier characters. It is smart to use top tier characters but it’s much easier for a lower tier to upset a top tier in 3S than in other games. All you gotta do is watch some Japanese vids and you’ll see that stuff happening left and right.
Speaking of girls…I really need to hit up Japan like next year (if Evo isn’t super super interesting next year). I love azn girls and I happen to be black so…it’s definitely on if I show off my ninja like skills with all the azn honeys in Japan.

Taken from Buktooth system guide:
Frame Advantage/Disadvantage = Guard stun - (active frames + recovery frames)
okay lets plug in blanka c.rh (7/4/23), -3
Frame Disadvantage for Attacker = 18~20 - (4+23)
= 18~20 - (27)
= -9~7F.
as stated above, move comes out in 7 frames, hits on the eigth. Its hard to say exactly, because it varies from case to case, but theres 2/3 chance that he can hit you with a sweep after JD sweep. If it works out to 8F than it would be perfect reversal timing after JD, 9F you get one frame error.
(this means you have to test it to make sure, but it probably works)
Well, I got ht by it, so that’s all the proof I need to now that it’s possible. If you need one-frame timing to JD and punish, I guess it’s still worth testing the K-Groover. Still, in the situation I threw it in, I had much better options, so I just fucked up.
This is not fully the case. A team tournament caters to low tier characters much more than a singles tournament, especially in a game like 3S(where matchups can vary a lot, and of course a universal “equalizer” in the form of parry ). Low tier characters can make it farther by assembling teams that can take on top tiers. Top tiers still win in japan way more than low tiers. Ratio is probably the same. In addition, single game format is going to cater to low tiers more anyway. Look at it like this. Lets say ken beats necro 7-3. 7 out of 10 matches Ken should beat necro, if you play 3 out of those 10 matches, odds are that 2 of those games went to Ken. Only one game takes away that advantage. Or in other words, gimmicks wont hold up for 3 fights as much as 1. Very simple. This also extends to double elimination format. If a character has a mathematical advantage, that means the more games he plays the more he should win.
In addition, Japan has a much larger base of players, with many more players that even play low tier, so again, of course you will see more low tiers beat higher tiers because there are more of them. Not to mention those guys get practice against higher tiers all the fuckin time. A better measure would be consistency in these types of tourneys, because losing once or winning once can really be a matter of coin flip.
You dont see any low-tier playing Japanese dudes coming to U.S. and winning. Yun Yun Chun in that order I think? Kokujin came, got top 8. Dudley is what, arguably 5th,6th,7th worst?. A very good character, ability to do large amounts of damage, great jumpins, overheads, mixup options and reversals (similar cases with Yang and Akuma too, though not to the same extent). You don’t see chikyuu placing top 8. Maybe sugiyama wouldve… but he lost to 5star (I guess). KSK was top 8 that one time or maybe more. Dude owns an arcade. He definately has much experience against a wide assortment of characters.
To say that its easier to win with a low tier than “other games” is sort of broad and general. Sure its probably true of marvel, but marvel is a team based game and doesn’t really follow the same rules. You can comprise a winning low-tier TEAM, but it has to be a team not just characters thrown together. Its really probably on par with cvs2.
One more thing, the argument of “KSK ranbats are 2/3” doesn’t hold either. What is the deal, they switch to American style tourney with top 8? Im pretty sure the most consistent winner in KSK ranbats is Nuki. 2nd place Nitto. When KO goes he usually wins. Top tiers. Ftw.
One frame isn’t exactly something easy to do, I was thinking about the spread with 13-17 frames so that was my mistake. Even though it is possible it would be very hard for someone to reversal timing every time 100% after jd on that particular move. Ski u need to come back from outer space also and come to the C3 joint.
Painting supplies are hard to come by over here. Not only that but I quit drawing long ago. Two semester of art school was all I could take before I realized it wasn’t the path for me.
Rugal: I see this guy over here who I swear to god I thought was you. Same height/complexion/hairstyle (though his is a bit redder)/almost the same facial structure. First time I saw him I said “Rugal?” and he didn’t turn or bat an eye. After getting a better look I realized it wasn’t you. It just threw me off for a moment because I know you said you worked for the Government now.
Kimmicks: if they have big tittays then I can hide anything. Especially if they’re blond. Blond asians with big titties are my dream girls.
I think I’ll write raps about livin hardcore in baghdad in a secure compound with lots of guards. Yeah, that shit makes me HARDKORE with a “K” and in all caps because I’m rough and tough baby.
Sleeping and eating are pretty fun hobbies… but if you’re looking for something productive you could try knitting. Or maybe programming?
I know drawing isn’t the path for me, either. But I still enjoy drawing because I like to see my thoughts on paper sometimes. Which is also why I write from time to time. Not like I’m an artist or a writer, but seeing my thoughts in a tangible form can be really nice sometimes.
Ehh… yeah, sleeping is more fun anyway.
Ninjas are dated as hell in Japan. Learn how to play tennis or something and all the bitches are gonna buy you some chicken nuggets.
P.S.- Americans that speak Japanese automatically get twenty points in…everything. None of that “baka kawaii sugoi ^_^” crap. Actually learn that shit.
