Started spinning right after I inputed his level 3, no extra damage. Is there a specific time to spin when pulling off his level 3. I’m using a pad so is there an issue?
I switch to the analog stick and have gotten up to 501k once.
EDIT: I spin it from beginning to end.
It’s invincible after two frames, and the fastest normal in this game is 4. This means the only time Haggar will get hit out of it is when he gets called while the other dude is already attacking.
Basically Lariat is still easily one of the best “get off me” assists, it’s just no longer “call assist, get free combo.” The only ones that really compare are Gold Armor Pendulum and Press the Witness, but Haggar doesn’t have to deal with any power up bullshit.
Been trying to replicate Those sprint combos. I got the deep j.:h:, j. :u::h:, j:s:, , :f::h:, L Hoodlum Launcher part, but the rest seem character specific. I only managed to do j., j.:h:, j.:u::h:, j.:l:, j.:u::h: on big characters. The rest I can only get two headbutts then I only have enough time for ground series. I’d like to do those ground loops on characters people are most likely to pick.
How good is his assist now? Is it good enough for him to be anchor still?
Wesker/Spencer/Haggar is the team.
I would like some feedback on this too. I loved using Haggar with Chris in vanilla and still want him be on my team. Tried ghost rider but can’t make him work with chris. Also, is the Lariat nerf only when he is the assist (ie. full invincibility if he is on point)
The second combo is character/corner specific. The first one works on pretty much anyone (you can do it without assists off an air-pipe)
This works on most of the cast in the corner:
:dp::l: [:u:] (delay) ,,:h:,:d::h:,:s: (land)
:l:,,:dp::l: [:u:] ,,:h:,:d::h: (land)
:s: [:uf:] :h:,:u::h:,:qcf::s:
Then launch and do whatever knockdown combo works on the opponent’s character.
It’s hard to time, but you can generally tell whether you’ve got it right by how the first j.M hits.
If timed correctly, the final :s: hits right before the ground and you can juggle with :l:.
If mistimed, you react to it pipe your way to a groundbounce instead.
Is right at the beginning after he grabs them or when he goes “It’s all over”?
Right away, during super freeze
Then I must be spinning too slow, since I’ve got nothing when i did that.
RFF startup invincibility is pure godlike. With its good range and large hitbox, I can easily react and punish whomever my lariat can’t reach. I literally dance the Lariat Ballet through two columns hyper sodium forces and hit him with the RFF just when the third one was about hit me (which it can since the lariat would end then). Also, pesky Zeros who can safely sword you and still be out of reach can now eat a nice bowl of fists.
My team is Chris Taskmaster Haggar
Haggar does just fine and is still a big help for Chris with his lariat.
Lariat was not changed when he’s on point.
Chris just can’t seem to help Haggar with his otg for relaunched. But he can help Haggar get in with gunfire.
Maybe a sky high reset attempt can be sweetened with gunfire assist or landmine assist
Mmm, Haggar/Ryu/Doom does stupid damage… Easy 800-850K off of almost anything for no meter, easy million with a net loss of ~50% meter max… except I have to use Ryu and Doom. My Ryu is OK but my Doom is trash.
If resets are where it’s at for Haggar we need to make them safer for him to attempt since obviously he’s gonna be on point.
I’ve been brainstorming at work for possible assists.
These I’ll take to the lab my next off day.
Chris land mine
Taskmaster Parabolic or vertical
DRONEZ
Spencer Slant
Doom missiles
Dante Crystal
Hsien Ko Pendulum/Gong
Nemesis punch to rocket
Shuma laser
I figure calling these assists in between violent axe and hoodlum H so that if Haggar guesses wrong he’s not taking much damage or is simply safe or even gets a full normal combo if they get greedy.
Ideally you’d want one that also serves to either extend his combos after his OTG or covers a lot of horizontal space to help him get in. That’s the problem, Haggar is already so assist dependent when on point that you can’t have enough assists to cover his bases.
If anyone was wondering, I finally got the guide so all of the frame / damage / meter data is now in
One of each will do. a Get in assist, a cover bases assist.
Haggar taskmaster Doom for example… Taskmaster’s horizontal arrows helps him get in, and is good for DHC. Doom Missiles to cover his reset attempts + bomb diggity anchor.
I do see your point though, he’d need an assist for OTG combo extension, an assist for reset protection, and an assist for helping him get in.
To the lab gentlemen.
I use Hawkeye’s Rag shot (The one where he shoots arrows in the air then they come down) to help Haggar get in cause it works great from fullscreen. I use sheild slash when I’m closer for comboes and mixups. In addition, Sheild Slash assist will combo clean after OTG without having to pipe cancel: it hits forward after the dropkick, then backwards after you hit with the pipe, so they come flying toward you for a bit. Still trying to come up with something to do afterwards.
OK so I did some testing and after spinning the SHIT out of Final Haggar Buster I managed to get up to 26 hits 504k damage. You only have to spin during the giant swing portion of the Hyper when he normally racks up hits 2-7. You have to spin SO FUCKING FAST though it’s crazy, I literally have a giant blister on my palm now from all the friction.
Also I’m working on getting a bunch of BnB videos up of Haggar’s best options off of everything naked and with one assist. Unfortunately my computer is being a piece of shit and not capturing footage properly so it’s probably going to take me all day. Might not even get it finished until tomorrow which makes me sad.
you can larriet when shield slash comes in and then rapid fire fist…you could also hodlum launcher too giant press. when i get time and i perfect it a little more i found a really sick reset in the corner with spencer assist ill get a video made of it later
