Whatever you need to open the case (probably just a screwdriver) and needle nose pliers to wiggle the quick disconnects off. I buy my parts from Focus Attack.
Due to the type of joystick connection the Mayflash v2 uses, you will need either wire strippers and a terminal strip (or some other splicing method) or the double sided JST cable mentioned earlier in the thread to connect any joystick that uses a 5 pin connection.
It’s still really easy. Another option would be to get a non pcb variant lever- you could simply cut the wires free from the original lever, strip them back a bit, then crimp on .187" connections and plug each into its corresponding switch in the new one.
You might get what you need by ordering this specific JLF. To my surprise, it came with the double-sided 5-pin JST connector and plugged right into the PCB as expected.
The picture and model number are completely wrong though, so I don’t know if they are consistent with what they send out. I got the version without the shaft cover. It came in the original Sanwa box with 2 dust washers, flat mounting plate, double-sided 5 pin JST connector, single-sided 5 pin connector, and a black ball top.
So I tried replacing the joystick with a JLF using a double headed 5 pin harness. Unfortunately, only the up direction is registered so I’ll have to take the wire splicing route.
Combined with the fact that my stick doesn’t work on 360’s makes me wish I had tested these things earlier and tried to get a replacement.
Okay, since I do have one on the way, what do I need to do to make ps14g’s fit in there? I hear conflicting things here. Can I just drop them in, or do I have to widen the holes with sandpaper a bit?
