so just for confirmation before i advise my buddy to purchase a <Wii MadCatz TvC Fightstick> and <MayFlash PC-USB Adapter>.
this is assuming no hardware tweaking.
there aren’t any really MAJOR problems that impede the use of the stick on the ps3, other than the L and R buttons not working in default mode (im not totally sure what the modes are, but i guess i’ll find out soon enough). also, the Wii joystick functions as the PS3 DPad (?).
the second mode causes the Wii joystick to function as the PS3 left analog stick (?), and allows all 8 buttons to work (albeit remapped buttons).
i have no idea what you meant by the 3rd mode lol…
but anyway, on the first page, someone said that he swapped the L/R and zL/zR buttons respectively so the stick works perfectly. i’m guessing this was for the default mode to work properly, but i don’t believe this is a necessity. i also don’t believe theres an advantage to having the Wii joystick map to the PS3 DPad over the PS3 left analog stick. correct me if i’m wrong here.
mainly i’m just looking for short summarizations for the effectiveness of the TvC fightstick used on the PS3.
and i don’t think anyone has mentioned anything about lag as an issue. so that’s a good thing! (correct me if i’m wrong again lol)
is their a down fall to using 3rd mode? Ive been having no problem with using it on my classic controller. I don’t like the other modes for some reason.
ok, So I busted out my mayflash for some more testing to clear up the last few questions
First… the mayflash is COMPLETELY %100 NOT compatible with the Hori Fight Wii Fighting Stick. It will always recognize the left and right analog sticks as being down left. This was confirmed by plugging it into a PC and looking at the drivers. Sorry Hori Owners
Second… you can make the stick work properly in all three modes by setting it as the left analog stick (and same thing for the right stick). This does mean you are using the Left Stick instead of the digital pad, but In my testing (with MvC2) there is no perceivable
difference.
Third… As far as lag goes? I can not tell that there is any. There doesn’t seem to be any dropped inputs, and even my crappy air combos come out just fine.
So I am going to come to a final Conclusion:
This thing works just fine to use the Mad Catz TvC stick on your PS3. You will need to switch to the second mode for full functionality and there is no way to get to the XMB (only major downfall)
Okay, guys
I just got my adapter, and it works wonders!
I will be able to play MVC3 without tearing my thumbs apart!
And Royal, I didnt notice and delay on the dpad response…
The only con: I think there is no way to access the PS menu while in-game
Thanks, guys!
i just got my madcatz tvc sticks and mayflash adaptor yesterday. tried it with the PC and it seems to work alright, i just need to work out the button configurations i guess. the only thing is that i can’t seem to get the game (SF4 via Steam) to recognize the 2nd controller. before i start the game i check to see if my PC sees 2 of them and it does. kinda quirky.
since its an Nintendo made brand device, im assuming so, I have been able to use other classic controllers on this fine, except bootlegs (original classic controller thats black) don’t work
I have a 60GB PS3 and tried it with Kingdom Hearts, that’s the only ps2 game I have, and it was asking for a dualshock controller, so it doesn’t seem like it’ll work with ps2 fighting games. Bummer!
It does however work wonderfully with MVC2, I was able to pull of aerial combos with ease. I’m about to try it with SSF4, but dang I would like to thank whoever started this thread, I saved mucho dinero for I already have a pair of TVC sticks from the B1G1 free sale.
Wish I would have found this thread sooner! Ordering one now. I was fixing to drop a bunch of money on another ps3 stick and now I don’t have too. Works out perfect cause I have two TVC sticks just sitting in boxes cause I don’t have a Wii, come to think of it… got two 360 TE’s and no xbox… hmmmm…
I still think everyone here wasting there time with the mayflash wii to USB adapter, you are much better off dual-modding with a Cthulhu
Then your stick will work as d-pad or left analog with out changing settings, work on your PC or PS3, you can use your ZL and ZR buttons (if you hook them up)
and it will work fine with PS1 games
I just want to let everyone here know that Mayflash has just released the wireless version of the Wii Classic Controller USB adapter, yes it is HID and plug & play, and yes it will work with PS3.

The unit takes 3 triple A batteries (despite the little mix-up on the packaging that says Double A’s).
For the moment, the adapter can be bought for $17.90 w/ free shipping on Ebay, but that price may be subject to change.
