although i never use that plug on my wiimote, i see some potential with this adaptor in the future.
Since the L&R buttons are digital on the Classic Controller Pro does this mean they’ll work without a hitch on the PS3?
I apologize for the late bump, but just confirming that it does work on the PS3 without having to mod the buttons. Just press Home+L or Home +R after connecting, and the L and R buttons work.
Cross post from my post at neogaf:
If you want to use it on SF4/SSF4, have this config:
[ ] : Light Punch
/_\: Medium Kick
X: Medium Punch
O: Light Kick
L1: none
L2: Heavy Punch
R1: none
R2: Heavy Kick
As far as I can tell, there’s no lag, but someone with the right equipment and knowledge should test it out further. I also have not tried hooking up two TvC sticks on it at once, nor have I personally tried a Classic Controller Pro on it yet.
I love you 410 and Guy_Cecil. I think I may have to order this adapter now.
Interesting, cheap solution for new PS3 controllers? I don’t think so.(Weird shoulder button placement).
I’d say this is great for pad players and people who only have Wii sticks.
They are actually hybrid analog/digital. They are analog as they press down, until the click at the end and that sends a digital button press signal.
This adapter is pretty nice, especially for the cost. I do not have a wii stick to test anything but I did review the unit based on its designed use of using wii classic controllers on the PC.
In the mini review you can see how you can change the mode of the L&R buttons as well as the analog sticks, so that may help understand what is being talked about with the mode changes.
Weird shoulder button placement? What do you mean? On the normal Classic Controller, yes, but not so much on the CCPro.
Really? I never got my hands on a pro, I heard the D-Pad is crap.
Shoulder buttons are similar to PS2’s shoulders. zL and zR are moved to the back much like L2 and R2.
I heard various reports on the D-Pad, some say it’s a nice compromise between the DS and DS Lite D-pads. It’s also worth saying that there’s some CCPro knockoffs on eBay, so if the D-Pad is crap, it’s possible someone bought a knockoff.
My friend just got Monster Hunter, I think I’ll give it a look.
Please report back on the D-Pad. I might grab a CC Pro one myself, since I have Monster Hunter and a bunch of homebrew emulators and virtual console games I want to try it out on.
I will, may take a day or two though.
Does anyone know if this works for Xbox 360?
It shouldn’t. 360 has special controller encryption, I believe.
OK thanks :xeye: MS are such assholes.
Hi everyone,
Here is my experience using the Mayflash adapter :
I actually own a Wii Hori Fighting Stick modded full Sanwa and I wanted to use it with SSF4 on PS3. I can switch modes (Hat Switch, Digital…) with Home+L, and also change the commands in the game menus to have my Ken kick and punch as if I was on SF3. (Thanks to Guy_Cecil for the mapping)
However, the character moves and the navigation in the menus are like if my joystick was stuck at the bottom left !! So I tried to see if the problem persists with a Wii Classic Controller plugged instead, and everything works great. Which is really weird because I play Tatsunoko VS Capcom with my stick without any calibration problem.
So I installed the driver on my PC to see if I could understand, and with the Classic Controller I have this :

And with the Hori Stick plugged instead I see, on the same window, the cross in the white square is not in the middle but stuck at the left. The buttons feedbacks are all OK when clicked, same for the joystick in the “Hat Switch” star view.
In conclusion, I deduced that :
- it’s not a hardware issue with my stick because it works great on Wii;
- it’s not a hardware issue with the adapter because it works great with the classic controller;
- it’s quite confusing
- i need your help
I’ve had this issue happen before, and I just unplugged the entire adapter, unplugged the stick, then replugged the stick, and then the adapter. (Make sure you’re plugging in the stick in the adapter before you plug in the adapter) Started working like normal. There’s a calibrate option, try that. Though not sure if this would fix the problem on the PS3. Perhaps the Hori stick doesn’t work too well with the adapter? That’s quite an odd thing to occur.
On PC the calibrate fonction works well with the classic controller, but does not with the stick. And it’s still the same on PS3. I’ve been trying now for days without success.
So I really tend to think that the Mayflash Adapter is a great accessory for those who’d like to play on PC or PS3 with their classic controller. But it is not made for Fighting Sticks !!
Has anyone tested the TvC? Any difference?
Um, I stated before that the TvC stick works perfect on it just fine. Not sure what’s going on with the Hori stick though.
