But then again, like a good majority of people on the internet now a days are fascinated with the most simplest shit, who knows…
like 30,000 Ryu players versus <insert number of average to intermediate difficulty character(s) here> online on all platforms, it could be true that he actually gets that many people watching him due to how many noobs play.
Haters gonna hate. He seems like a pretty genuine and humble guy.
I really do understand the jealousy though. He’s at every convention, playing whatever the hot new fighting game is. Not only that, he gets paid to do it. It’s easy to hate on him. There have been times where I have myself. At the end of the day, I always remember this -
There are certain members of Youtube (we all know who they are) that would be a lot worse to put up with if they’d had the success that Max has had.
I think he’s a good thing for fighting games because I’ve played a few younger players who got into fighting games through watching his Youtube.
I dont hate Max, but when it comes to fighting games he doesnt know jack. Like he thinks his opinions are good, which there not. There are plenty of people who know a lot more then him when it comes to fighting games. And hes never placed high at any tournament
when it comes to other games I dont mind watching him play something like Dark souls or Blood Borne.
There are plenty of high level players on twitch like Jwong, PR rog, snake eyes who stream on twitch that know a lot more then max.
He hides his elitism but it creeps out every so often when he starts losing. Last year I commented on a bit of Riptor information he was talking about, pointing out it was wrong, he deleted my comment and banned me. He seems phony as hell from the KI sessions I’ve watched and his humor is cringe inducing. I also find it hilarious that anyone who beats him during these sessions he labels as “godlike”, as if beating this ass clown is some sort of grand achievement.
He promotes false information about not just fighting games but other genres as well.
WTF. so 2 years ago everyone was against Zhi with the “We need to get Zhi off commentary thread”.
This year we have this thread about Maximilian.
Who have you folks lined up for in 2016?
I don’t think people realize how demanding this job is. It’s really not “getting paid to relax and play videogames” fantasy land BS.
I mean I like the result of what I’m doing and the help people get from it but video production is literally “work”, and a tedious one at that.
So for example the SFV beta starts but you caught some virus, you feel sick and you can’t even stand looking at the screen right now, you still have to force yourself to keep pumping out that content and look enthusiastic while doing it, because the timing is crucial. You work according to Capcom schedule and has to be there when something related to the content pops up, like a journalist.
I completely agree. However, the people that hate on him are the same ones that wouldn’t take this kind of thing into regard. Whatever you do for a job, regardless of how cool it is, still has it’s days where it feels like hard work, or you could do with a break from it.
he takes something thats out there and presents it little better. he is working for that $. there are far worse offenders out there. max is just a very small fish in the sea.
I don’t really hate the guy, but I do feel the majority of his jokes fall flat and I’m not really big on that fake “hype” shit when you hit a BnB on anything. It just rubs me the wrong way.
Like 99.9% of youtube gamers, he is annoying as shit. I’ve often considered becoming the anti-youtuber. Someone who just uses stifled grunts and grumpy facial expressions as I play.
I think his issue, besides being irritating, is that he hides his doucheyness but not completely. He tries to portray this nice humble guy, but his commentary and comments every so often completely contradict this persona. Take someone like DSP, at least you know from the first video that you are watching a misinformed asshole. He does himself no favors as most of his viewers have left and he’s attacked from every angle on a constant basis. Max manipulates his fans more effectively and carries on much more comfortably because of it.
Also, anyone who wears sunglasses inside and thinks DmC is superior to DMC3 shouldn’t be giving advice on anything.
Not exactly. I take issue when I’m trying to enjoy a stream and this dick nose is put on commentary. The Evo top 8 for KI was ruined for me. Not only did we have to endure Max, but that screaming retard Tristan. Who in the fuck green lit that duo when most of the community requested Keits, and asked to keep those two knuckleheads off of commentary in streams leading up to Evo?
A madman breaks into your room while you’re watching a stream. He barks like a rabid dog and is dressed like Sean Connery in Zardoz. The madman points a loaded .45 magnum to your head and cocks it. He says “Yo, you have to choose. Do you watch a stream with Maximilian or Skisonic?”
I’ve been keeping an eye on him for the same reason…but it’s really hard to tell because it has to be one hell of an act for him for that not to really be his personality and be super douchey.
I of course do see his problems but I have the gut feeling that he is still more genuine than DSP is minus typical human behavior otherwise.
I don’t really hate him myself. I remember watching some of his videos mostly for tutorial reasons. I say they are pretty decent for someone getting started in the genre. Though as I became aware of better resources for fighters, like wikis (mizuumi being one), forums (this place being one, FSD too), and matches…I figured that those were better for me when I want to learn a game. I don’t watch him as much anymore for this reason, but…eh. I think he’s okay.
well after learning that Pewdiepie has the biggest youtube gamer channel, and has more subs then anyone just cause hes fucking annoying as shit. Everyone is acting like Pewdiepie now. Though now the only people I can watch on youtube are happy console gamer and AVGN https://youtu.be/G8QDSKC_zzg
