Sorry for being MIA on updating recently. I was caught up in practicing for and playing a MW2 tournament. We spent 6 weeks getting a 5th place seed out of 24 teams and got pooped on.
Anyways, 2 weeks ago (3/12) some NoVa came down and handed us our butts on a platter. I can’t remember where I put the results, but they went something like:

A FEW UPDATES
With the release of Super, we’re going to probably raise the price a little of the tournaments for a few reasons.
We’re having generally steady showings, but Fridays are getting busier and we’d be losing a lot of money if we don’t charge just a bit more. I hate to do this, but we are at a business and not someone’s house. But it’s not going to be a huge hike.
I’m planning on making the payouts now 70/30 always after Super, more consolation prizes and possibly more pot cash-outs if more people continue to come.
Unless there’s a huge uproar or something over this, I think it’s better for everyone. I think bigger pots attract more players, which means more practice and experience, so everyone gets better and whatnot. We’re think instead of $10, it’d be $14, split half-GP, half-pot. Let me know what you guys think.
ALSO: Still trying to work out some monthly or bi-monthly BIG tournaments, but I would really need support from players to bring their friends and whatnot for this to work. I’m hoping Super is going to attract a lot of attention with new players. I’m going to try to pass some flyers out to schools and anywhere I think people may notice them to get more players.
Let me hear your thoughts! Gonna throw it out there that I’m probably going to stay Sagat in Super, but I’ll test the water with other characters, too. What about you guys?
While Cammy was my first actual char in SFIV, there are a few other promising candidates in Super I’d like to try out, those being Juri, Guy, Makoto, and Ibuki (plus, investigate Fei Long and Boxer from the original).
Looking at the pros and cons of raising the cost of entering the tourney, I think the thought of prizes for the runners-up, etc. outweigh the extra few bucks. Then again, that’s me talking, so I don’t know if the others would be pissed or what.
Good mothafuckin games. It felt good seeing all those folks comin out for the fighter of streets. New comp came through and shook shit up. Shook me real talk. Had me sweatin literally. That Gouki onslaught is too much. I’m horrible with names but ya’ll know who ya’ll are. Let it be known.
Haha, yea I like watching Hokage play. Sweat is always rollin’ because he gets intense matches! (Including against me.) I was very pleased to see all the new people! Good stuff!

Sorry, I wasn’t able to watch as many matches as I wanted, so I missed some characters.
I’m trying to figure out if I can make it down to Robin’s tourney in May. Anyone else interested in going? I may head up to C3 next weekend as well.
Haha. I was so into the fights I didn’t even pay attention to the pot. They gave me 65 so I thought thats what it was. ITs all good. I made my money back and covered gas so I can’t really complain I guess. I’ll be on matty. I might use the controller today so I can move around the roster a lil more. The stick is a honda blanka thing. I can’t use input characters for shnit with a stick.
Matty good stuff with that venue pretty sick and good matches overall. Hokage60 ala ChairNazi lol i’m just kidding but good casuals would have loved to play you in the tourney but patrick ousted me. I will definitely try to make to more of these!
Don’t let Kros fool you. His Sakura is the problem. I hate it as much as he hates my honda. No knock on gamepad either over the pot thing. Its an easy mistake. Just making conversation. It’s all good folks in there, for any potential players. The community is really starting to blossom. The staff are all cool. Even the owner, which usually isn’ the case with a lot of places, but not here. Naturally you have some CHARACTERS that show up, but everybody is still cool. If you want to play street fighter with other enthusiasts, and sharpen you skills, all while laughing and joking around and watching the eye candy in the mall walk by, then come through. We’re going to try to pull in as many folks for the first Super tournament as we can (4/30). As MattyP said earlier the buy in will be increasing from $10 to $14 upon Super’s release. It will be a $7/$7 split between venue and pot. The pot will be a 70/30 split between the top two (both winner’s and loser’s bracket winners get a share).
For the 4/30 tournament we will be giving out a copy of the game as well as some other prizes yet to be determined. Just trying to give an early heads up to everyone.
