For the kara throw I use my pinky on RH button and thumb and pointer on the throw. I suggest whatever feels comfortable to you and gives you the highest success rate when you try kara throws. As long as you can break them in in a match and use them as easily as normal throws then you can choose whatever format of hand placement you like. That’s the one I use though, works for me pretty good =)
that’s what i was doing but I guess i’ve to try practice it more… thanks sensei …
Joz, your vega is beastly, And these videos really helped me out I have a buddy who mains ken, those vids definitely jogged my mind on how to counter him.
Also sick footsies :^O!
Can someone please post videos of those japanese vegas. I can never find them on Youtube…

Then simply search for “BA” or “Vega” or “Claw”. Try out all three, search results may vary. OR you may go into Youtube and simply type the names of japanese top players (along with the search term “Claw” or “Vega”) such as:
Ujiki, Makoto, Cat-k, Kubiwa, Ranbo, Yamasan, Hakaba Poemer, Wasa Beef
^^ Thank you, especially for giving me the names of those players!
Second match is Makoto vs a Guile player:

gawd makoto was crazy
throw into ambiguous cross up ex fba oki into 3 consecutive izuna (almost 4) was epic.
I’m glad that guile lost the way he did.
jozhear-
nice videos makes me wanna consider using turbo (joke reference)

Here are a few videos of me.

In the first video at 5:08 I was grabbed out of a reversal ST by Cammy and it even shows my input as forward HK and it displays the reversal window. Capcom lied! ST has no invincibility to throws lol.
-
In the first video I walk right over my claw at 6:30 to pick it up and he doesn’t! I was like wtf.
-
At 1:41 in the first video I tried to do my Ultra which probably would have been blocked but w/e it was lame that at the time I sucked at its input. Now using the shortcut I am way more accurate.
very nice play!!
This match has epic written all over it!
!
Wow, did you see the trade that continues into a combo for vega @ 5:12?! That’s crazy!!!
@Laxlight- Thank you.
I know that there isn’t too many good Vega vs. Cammy matches floating around so I decided to show everyone how I play that one in particular. If anyone requests a particular matchup ill see if I can get videos vs. that character.
Also as of now getting trapped in the corner against Cammy is literally getting trapped. It is really really bad. You literally can’t do anything. No reversals, no grabs, no jumps, no dashes, no backflips. Your only hope to escape is ultra 2. It does work for the most part, but you want to use it when you see cammy going for the cannon stroke if you can. That way you are sure to escape or hit. Cannon stroke has a little bit more lag than normal jump attacks I believe, so even if it is closer to the ground than a normal aerial attack it should hit.

Against Cammy I find that trade ST works in your favor. During block strings once they move away from jab punch and kick you can throw one in there and trade. Its a big risk, but getting Cammy of your sack is worth it because, if you do that you keep her from building meter and you push her away. And Cammy is a big fuck you to OS. I find that you have to be aggressive with your pokes, that way you pressure her more than she can pressure you. But be very smart about when you throw one and which one you throw because of spiral arrow, and if she guesses right she is gonna push you into that corner.

Matches I had with Tatsu. They were all very great in my honest opinion.
Maaan… I gotta get to that level of play! It’s the little nuances of offensive grab/focus I need to work on. And Cosmic Heels are still a little alien to my gameplay for some reason. Workin on that too.
The thing is, I know what it takes to get myself to the next level but I haven’t gotten the drive yet to make that push. I know when I’m just guessing, spamming walldives, or doing dumb shit, but I’m in my last year of college and play too much as it is (haha), so usually I just want to sit down and play casual matches rather than use my time in training mode. Anyone else feel me?
Eventually I need to sit down and re-watch my videos, pick apart each matchup’s options in different situations and take some notes and try to apply that instead of mashing shit out at times like flips. Next I need to start using my fucking stick. Believe it or not, everything with my Vega thus far has been on the Xbox controller and analog stick Type-A. I’m very comfortable with it but I know it is a bit slower for key stuff like dashing and quickly executing Ultra2.
Anyway, OMGWTFBBQ:

I run into trouble again vs El Fuerte. The Cammy fights get a little ridiculous. Juube owns me but I try to pick up some experience.

SDS Chronic challenges me to a set. A painful finish.
@ Meteo
I only watched the Seth one. I say you gave him too much space. Remember, he has the lowest amount of Health, so you wana rush him down and kill him quick. If you give him fullscreen, he will be at the advantage, if you try to jump or FBA to him he will srk or j.mp into the stomps. You have to stay on him even though he might try to teleport.
That last KINGKINDRED video you posted… Did he post that on his channel? That guy doesn’t like to post videos of him losing. A real class act if you ask me. Good job, though. Great Vega. Just watch out for those focus attacks as you wall dive.
Haha, I’m never sure whether I want to be near or far vs Seth. A lot of matches I like to phase in and out of range to keep things dynamic, but I’ll definitely keep your tip in mind! Thanks. I think I’ll challenge BuddahForce to a rematch…
I think TKK posts Ranked Matches, only the first game we played was in ranked. After he beat me on that one, he invited me to an Endless Battle where he tried multiple characters vs my Vega. Just casual matches and my Vega didn’t seem as good as his even though I did win a couple vs his. There’s no dishonor in not posting casual play if you reserve a time and a place for recorded matches. I have somewhat of a policy when it comes to posting vids. First off, if someone beats me I try to post it. If I was REALLY just off my game, sometimes I won’t post it (especially if its that cold-fingered 1st game of the day) but I will also decide to not post a fight vs a strong player where THEY seemed to be off their game. So I try to keep things balanced and post a number of notable wins/losses that reflect how often an opponent or I win.
Anyway, yeah focus attacks are tricky. Gotta work on not getting so bold when my walldive isn’t EX. But its so tempting to try to Izuna them! Of course them having an ultra ready makes it a little more high-risk low-reward, haha.
