Focus as AA is okay, but you need to backdash immediately after absorb. Don’t know if it’s a good idea against Ken, his Fierce Shoryuken’s range is atrociously long and can catch you on backdash recovery.

got some new ssf4 vids. I barely played sf4 at all and didn’t even use vega ever. So i’m new to vega and damn near new to SF as a whole. Anyways, i have only vega vs vids if anyones interested. I’m not ever using anyone else, so all info and helpful tips are much appareciated and won’t go to waste. thanks 
Ah, a beginner. First of all, let me address some positive points:
- You’re not jumping at all. This is very rare for a beginner and at the same time very good. Don’t you ever get into the habit of jumping.
- You’re using the overhead.
- You’re already trying to use his Walldive to attack opponents that are waking up, which is a good idea. There is a similiar strategy in high level play, but that one revolves around Izuna dropping your opponent instead of Claw slashing him.
What you should improve:
- Cr.jab can be canceled into EX Walldive for more damage. A lot of the times you’re just linking jabs - you’re missing out on knockdown and damage there pal!
- Sometimes you’re just sitting there and charging for a special. Specials are nice, but Vega’s aren’t really the main focus of his game plan. You’re supposed to stand up, walk into your best range (Vega walks really really fast) and poke the opponent with Vega’s excellent normals (Your favorite two are clearly cr.jab and df.mk, but there are others such as st.mk, st.hk, cr.mp, cr.mk). Notice how Poongko walks in and out of his opponents attack range and confuses him with Vegas kara throw. - When you hit df.hk, try comboing into EX Walldive for more damage instead of always resetting the opponent. You can mix the two up.

Good Blanka match. Can’t believe how people say this match-up is “5-5” when virtually nothing got changed.
Matchup is 6-4 Blanka, and that’s being GENEROUS. Splendid Claw doesn’t do anything when you’re being crossed up left and right.
Nice, thanks alot. yeah i think i need to explore more than cr.jab and df.mk lol. I know that i advertise barcelona into dive, super and splendid claw wayyyy to much. My big issue that annoys me is getting crossuped so much. when they crossup do you have to block the opposite way and be standing then crouch block?
About the jumping, i learned unbelievably fast that i would get shoryuken’d immediately or something else that would annoy me and those string of videos i was focusing on ground game because i felt like once i would go against someone would would focus/block/ or hit me out of barcelona, my game of shenanigans was over, so i wanted to learn some more ground combos. Still having issues doing like cr. jab cr. jab, lp crystal then cr. jab cr. jab crystal again. I feel like i’m doing the charge but apparently my timing is off.
I will work on the poke game alot more. Seems like that strategy can be really frustrating to other players and very deceiving. Thanks alot.

Joz, just a question about your match vids with Stangy. I notice that when you’re going to focus a fireball, you seem to look like you’re almost buffering a fireball… you seem to go down forward down forward a lot before the focus. Is this just one of your own personal habits or are you doing it for any particular reason? Maybe just trying to get in closer or… ?

Damn meteo, nice vega. My buddy and i played against you tonight in team battle, but i had no idea we would actually fight someone decent in a random team battle. There was vega mirror between us when we played and i remember getting my ass kicked. I had people watching me and i remember saying that this is what a good vega does, not my lame shenanigans. Taught me a lot in the vega mirror match.

I watched those crazy videos of yours vs Stang… I’m trying to play like your style because I really like it but I want to know one thing… HOW YOUR FINGERS MOVE FOR KARA THROW!!! i mean, my fingers are on lp (Middle finger) + lk (Index finger) all the time and i use my (Ring finger) for the heavy (hp or hl). The thing is i CAN’T use my ring finger and middle finger with the index finger for kara throw asap … so what do you think?? should I change my order in which i’m using my fingers on the button or should I keep them?? is there any technique that I should know of??
