If it’s out of warranty, it might be worth your while to fix it yourself. There are a lot of good vids on Youtube about fixing the RRoD — most involve removing the x-clamp from the board.

It’s what I’m planning to do if my 360 ever RRoDs, anyways…
Me vs Azul_eX he plays Ken. He is not good. I didn’t play that well but would like to point out 1:08 or so in the vid…
he hits me with a string of jabs then jumps for a cross up but I flip then he jumps again for another one and I slide and flip, charge a ST and he jumps again (shotos are desperate for that cross up eh?) and let it fly. \
I usually try to slide when I see the crossup attempt but Im not always thinking about it. gotta change that cuz slide and or df.HK works pretty well for getting out of that situation.
Very interesting vid. Yeah… it seems like his strategy against Vega revolves around going for the cross-up into jabs or a throw. It also reflects a lot of my experiences with shotos in championship mode… seems like most of them are like this.
I saw that part too but was wondering why he didn’t counter your flip. In that face to face distance, a sweep would have done it. Also in first round he had 3 opportunities to punish you with various combos when u were kkk’ing 3 times in a row, but he didn’t. Vs players semi decent i don’t even bother to flip at all anymore.
Btw there is a G1 vega on PSN now as well and he has a replay up against a bison on the replay ladder check it out before it is gone.
Nice Sasaki! This is really one of Vega’s better combos imo, and I still sometimes have difficulty pulling it off at close distance.
I’m back btw, took some time off SF4/Vega, trying to remember how to play Did all the scrubs catch up to G2? Or is there a way to cheat the system now? I only have like 4k GP and I’m playing shotards again I beat a 13kGP Akuma with ease as well.
Sixcolt, on xbl there’s 3 or 4 “shotards” in G1. There’s one guy, vegita30 or vegita90, something like that, who is a complete classic flowchart ken and he has like 20k GP. There are like 5 random uppercut ryus in the top 50 CP leaderboard.
All you have to do is play all day every day and beat a scrub here and there and you rank up. No need to be good.
I just made the switch to a stick recently… it’s working okay for me… some stuff is easier to perform, some stuff is harder.
I’m having an easier time with ST and RCF, a harder time with EX- forward-FBA… I think I just need time to relearn stuff. I’m also using my backflips a lot less now… which is actually good because I was overly dependent on them before and ended up getting punished quite often.
In the very least, it’s a lot nicer on my poor hand… I may have messed my hand up trying to play on the 360 d-pad up till now… I’ve had this joint pain in my left thumb for weeks now. It might be persisting because I’m not giving it time to properly heal/rest.
I think I’m gonna have to take a break from the game for awhile and hope it gets better.
Yeah i had that joint pain too from the d-pad, but i stopped playing for i think 2 weeks and i dont feel it anymore.
SixColt, dont buy it from ebay since they are still making it or at least they were when i bought mine. It usually gets sold out real quick though, like in an hour everytime. Sign up at wiialerts.com and they’ll text your phone whenever they get new shipment in. Thats how i got mine.
I never felt any joint pain and that’s the reason I didn’t buy a stick. Also, I don’t want to spend so much money on it… SF is currently only a “waste of time” to me and I don’t plan spending 270 bucks for that.
I’m no pro.
Judging by your vid that you made for the df.HK xx ST — you use the analog stick right? What’s causing me problems is the placement of the 360’s d-pad I think… you gotta angle your thumb in a funny way to use it. I probably wouldn’t have the same problem had I bought one of those MadCatz Fightpads.
I say, use whatever works for you. I’d continue to use the d-pad if I could, but it’s not worth injuring myself. Plus, I was able to get a hori ex2 for like… what, $50? Not so bad…
The only reason why i had joint pain was because my 360 pad got messed up somehow and it have to press it extra hard on the left side to make it work. Right now, im still better with pad, but i havent played much lately due to my messed up net connections. I get random lag spikes all the time and my tv just got messed up too… its been a bad 1-2 months for my sf4 days
Thanks for those sites, i’ll check them. I’d probably like to get a hori stick though, $50 sounds nice.
And to be honest, while the Dpad on the 360 controller sucks, I’m really not having too many issues using the analog stick. It’s pretty solid, especially for charge characters. The face buttons on the other hand… are meh, and the bumpers/triggers just don’t do it for me when it comes to fighters. Still it’s much better playing someone like Vega than say… Chun Li and trying to piano-roll kicks on a controller lol.
