The only thing i can really say is i would usually fight rog more upright and punish any dash ins, what you did seemed to work out fine as well though.
Pros: Punishes the rog and seems to make them more aggressive and easier to punish. It also allows you to not get caught in a corner as easy which i find is key to this match up for Vega. I would suggest using FA a fair amount with this tactic
Cons: It is harder to keep your charge so limits some of your punishes, and easier to block as long as you see the overhead coming.
Hey when you say Punish his dash in what do you mean? Just looking for specifics. I usually play this maych very conservatively but decided that I’d miz things up a bit.
Usually when he dashes in s.FP or cr.MP is what I use. If I can anticipate that I can absorb it I’ll FA other then that…ya this is a hard match. Sometimes when you FA his head butt he just ends up on the other side of you so I’ve pretty much given up doing that.
I know Bebop (paraphrasing) to use your classic “Vega vs Balrog” strats here… I guess Im asking for a refreher course because its been awhile since I played ST and SF4 changes the equation somewhat.
Damn…I know Im always asking Bebop to update this thread but if you could go over the basics for Balrog what the “classic strats” against him are and possiblly add it to the main heading it would help alot!! Anything is appreciated.

Sorry i should have elaborated more. I simply mean using s.HK to stop ex dashes or using it to stop regular dashes. I usually try to get the balrog to come to me so i can punish him. You can also punish his headbutts as well either with standing HK, df. hk combo, quick FA stage 2, ST, throw, and airthrow (this one works but it can be a little sketch).
Since the standing HK hits twice it gets him out of the EX. I found with his regular EX punches such as the straight punches they don’t armor break so you can also FA those.
the low dash punch will hit , coz he ducks the 2nd kick of the s.HK , and his Dash low smash breaks armor , so if u keep FAing all the time he’ll start using that , gotta mix it up with s.HK , grabs , flips , STs etc

Me vs ShinEdgeman. He plays Bison. Has over 10,000 GP which makes me think it doesn’t mean that much. I played a pretty crappy match and still won.
He still wasn’t as bad as most Bison’s I’ve played.
