Its late cancel into EX FBA.

no late cancel needed. I just replicated it. It’s ridiculous how long the charge lasts.

Edit:
Also stumbled into figuring out the CH crossover input as well. It apparently was much easier than I thought

I think i remember him in a different video simply walking forward and him immediately crouching into cr.mk > cr.mp ex FBA combo without the need of cr.lp being added into for the sure charge time, if I can’t find it, he prolly just did his exact same buffer technique.

edit: Nvm he loves doing that charge buffer for that combo.

Reiketsu does the same at 00:20, right after the blocked LP.RCF. I can’t do it just by “buffering” the charge. If I late cancel the EX FBA out of crMP, I can do it.

EDIT:
Well, I did tests for myself, because I do not think that buffering the charge is possible since we have only 12f of buffer. Meaning that its impossible to hold the charge for this Special Move for so long. ( http://puu.sh/6ONOs.png )

So I decided to go deep into this shit. And there you go: http://youtu.be/Kb5cbIQWNOk .
The first clip in the video shows the late cancel and the latter shows me trying to “buffer” the charge. (Vegaman, if I did something different than you, please tell me).
One time in the video even the MK.ST came out when I pressed crMK. That was because I was still inside the 12f buffer that ST has when I pressed the button.

I could not make that slowmotion part slower. But when I go frame by frame here in the video that I recorded, I can see that I let go of “Down” about 10~11f after I pressed the crMP. Meaning that I was in crMP’s hitstop already.

Doing some math using the .bac file as source:

Required frames of Down charge for EX FBA: 42
Total frames between crouching and the crMK actually being pressed: 4
Total frames of crMK: 17
Hitstop of crMK: 10
Delay of the cancel: 10~11 (the startup and actives of crMP are inside those “10” already)
Total: 42~43.

If you link the crMK into crMP in the last frame possible you can have one more frame of charge.

mother of god…i’ll need to practice this

I’ve been practicing this. I’m not sure if it’s because it’s a mental thing, or it actually helps, but double tapping the two kicks for FBA makes it much more reliable.

Other than me walking forward longer, and no plinking, nothing different from the first clip. I guess I was late cancelling after all, though I can’t discern the difference in timing between the first and 2nd clip. I literally got it on the first try and never got the 2nd clip results unless I walked too far forward (basically more than a step and a half). I assumed by this it was the buffer holding the charge while I walk and not a late cancel since again, I cannot discern the difference in timing between either clip.

I just went back into training room and got the same results. By your argument I should be hitting it regardless of walking distance, and according to the video I should be. But it’s not. I guess my timing is changing for some reason then.

What’s the fastest you can cancel cMP into EX FBA?

Just counted the frames in the second clip and I was letting go of “Down”/cancelling around 3 frames after pressing crMP.

just thought about the obvious that eluded me, but cMP has a 4 frame start up. It’s my understanding active frames cannot be cancelled so wait 1 additional frame so on frame 6 would be the fastest you could cancel it. Going by that it looks to be a roughly 4 to 5 frame delay. That gives me a pretty good idea of the timing needed after the cMP hits to execute the EX FBA.

I’ll hit up the training room later today and see if I can do a 5 sec walk forward into combo. In theory it should work.

…so to sum it all up Vega can c.mk .cmp delayed cancel ex.fba…

yes

So i was messing around with Vega in training mode and at the end of the video i do a cool claw pickup…

oh that claw pick up was sick, haha

After 1 minute I thought “Oh god why am I watching this?” but it was worth it in the end, nice one

Yo that was pretty cool.

Here’s several hours of me fighting with my stick inputs visible. I’m mostly just having fun vs low to mid level players : )

would be awesome if you commentated on what was going on in your mind

Cool, I’d like to do that too. It must be fun, specially if you have a couple of friends watching in the stream.

I have a channel and everything set up, but my connection does not allow me to stream AND play online without lag. So I’ll have to wait.

not sure about brazil, but here in australia, standard upload is only 1Mbps…

Yeah. I have 1Mbps of upload too.

I can play online quite well or stream with a decent quality. But not both at the same time.
