There was a time when he would HP TT after blocking a CH. But then I started backdashing every single time. Then he started to either clHP(second hit hits me), jump forward or even forward dash clMP xx CoD to catch me. Thats why I started to sit my ass there.
Same thing with Izuna Vortex. He already took some and now he knows his options very well. I am not willing to risk myself being in the corner against Abel for only 150 of dmg.
Nor I’ll try to nail an EX FBA crossup to get 180 of dmg… in case I mess it up for 1f I’ll die.
The meter build is the same.
Depending on the matchup he doesn’t like to be in the face of the opponent, so yeah, MK/LK ST are better than HK in those situations.
I played that guy. I wondered the same thing at first but after playing a few sets I quickly realized he wasn’t. My Dudley made mince meat out of his Vega. He’s decent but too random.
Regarding the Seth matchup, I learned to respect the tandom engine. Although I’ve tried to reaction poke it in the past I’ve since given up because I’m just too slow. I play a mid range game the entire round. Once I gain a life lead, I stay back and have Seth come to me. Vega has all the tools necessary to keep him out. Some characters you simply have to lame it out. You won’t make too many friends playing that way but you’ll at least win.
I think a list of characters and the optimal range they should be played is good information to have and share. Every match is situational but it wouldn’t hurt to have a pre-game plan on spacing and optimal range.
Great find, until today I have time to take a look at it, many setups and tricks from God of Vega, most impressive setup is Izuna Drop----> SC (not sure MK or HK)–> Cross-up U1 on Guile >.<
Makoto charge timing is crazy, I still don’t know how he’s able to walk forward then immediately cr.mk > cr.mp into ex FBA with that short amount of time to charge doing it like that.
Makoto didn’t even wait @00:23 or did he just he his previous charge right before he walked forward to extend it somehow while he did cr.mk > cr.mp immediately?
