man, everytime you go in with the cosmic heel, you get screwed, we need that cosmic heel buff!

Infiltration using Vega

from 0:11:20

And a pretty good one too.

I like the use he makes of safe-jumps (the izuna cMK one isn’t so common, but at least someone who understood that cMP isn’t safe !), he has an interesting use of sHP (which I thought useless). He has good knowledge of meaties as well. He knows some setups and uses them.
And of course excellent footsies and zoning. Dunno if he predicted or reacted to every jump, but he beated most of them, so that this Ibuki really did not found reliable options to get in.

That plus being Infiltration (meaning excellent execution, and good defense), made his Claw pretty good. One can see it’s not it’s main (and the Ibuki wasn’t that good), but he’s definitely worth watching (thx for the link). =)

As for the Rose, it doesn’t seems to me he studied her as seriously as Claw, but i watched only the first match so far. =)

I liked the use of sHP as well, but the lack of CH was disappointing. Also the punishes weren’t maxed out.

At least a lot of crLp crLp crLP crMP xx EX FBA

Actually, not using CH as an offensive tool is an understandable choice to me. It’s slow and advantage on block is unclear. It’s very rewarding on hit though.

But still, no corpse-hop, no izuna cross-up, and as you mentionned, no CH punish. Maybe he’s less comfortable in keeping it’s charge at all times than at linking, it’s not his main after all. =)

Yeah you are right. Who needs set-ups and “gimmicks” if you have the fundamentals down.

On a side note: as impressive as the accuracy of his links generally was, I saw quite a lot of dropped crLp links

in a casual match…

offline…

from infiltration…

I just wanted to point out that there is a differnce between “I am able to do that link consistently” and "I can do it in my sleep"
That one frame buff will have a great impact.

Damned : who forgot to tell infiltration about cLP links being easy ? Huh ? Who’s to be blamed for this betrayal ? =D

Can’t agree more with that. Though I am often impressed by Claw players who trained enough to achieve cLP cLP consistently, despite of this. =)

Got mind fingered… :frowning: Didn’t even cuddle afterwards. :frowning:

Corner Dudleys tend to do that

Anyway, it was worth every penny for that end of round 2 (the whole reason to post that in the first place, admit it  Thanks for that!

After the combo at 1:32 the game should have given you the match right ahead

I call it my dizzy combo, only do it if i get a dizzy on an opponent and if I have enough meter built up. He sent me a friend request after that match. Kinda risky to do online. I can pull it off 7/10 tries usually offline but been practicing it since Scarlet Rain in Vanilla. Remember that one, Jozhear? He made me want to be a execution monsta after that combo video. LOL.

The dudley was impressive as well. It’s kinda strange, after so many dropped cMK cMP opportunities in the first round, you’re thinking « well, yeah, he’s rusty and he got beaten for it ». And then… round 2 happens. O_o

Felt a bit laggy throughout the whole set. I never drop basic vega combos offline, but happens online. I must of had a lag spike free time period at the time of the fadc combo.

There’s no problem man, round 2 was there to show your true skill. Plus I’ve dropped enough cMK cMP to argue more about it : GG, nice match ! ^^

Makoto0124 vs Uenis… 0_0

Damned, this MU is all about whiff punish in fact. After all theses years, watching such high level claw confront made me realize I’ve still not fully understood the mirror match… ( ‘-’)
And what happened after their mirror focuses was beyond my understanding as well. =D

It seems Makoto does like the anti-shoryu jHP post izuna. I’m wondering if that whiffed throw (after izuna ?) into jHK is the same kinda of bait.
Still, now we fully understand the why of the dash sLK cMK LP-RCF, plus the some uses they have for csMK (though not very effective against stand tech). Level of play was amazing overall and …he is still fond of CH-EX-ST as well. =D

I forgot to mention about japanese Kens (incredible level of play for 1.5k PP) and their shryus which puts you on fire without knocking you down . +D

EDIT : in fact it’s a cross-up => against Seth, after izuna drop in the corner, whiff a throw then jHK will be cross-up. And maybe an unblockable, though he didn’t test Seth’s reversal options. Didn’t knew that one. =)

Makoto0124 is a Vega Pioneer. Used to love watching his YouTube matches dating back to the start of vanilla.

why do i miss out on these golden moments…

also never knew star is thekingIGNORED on pc…damn your points!

I’m surprised we never played on xbl before. I have a ps3 but only turn it on for a week to practice before going to a major. What’s your gt star?

The stream is still available into uploaded videos, if you are interested.

But for how long ? I’ve stored some parts of it, for personal purposes… but thoses matches are excellent, specially the ones against Uenis. I wonder if one has the right to put them or youtube, or not ? Apparently, twitch does allows some of it’s users to « broadcast »… It would be a shame it to be deleted just like the last time.
