It is still on archive (like the last one) http://www.twitch.tv/makoto0124/b/440250426
To be on the save site download it via the tool haztlan mentioned: http://www.twitchtools.com/video-download.php

Just online man, just online… If you live in europe, we can cross blades any time. Though my skill (and the precious points  have suffered quite a bit in the last months. If that is the son of Cuban Ace in his avatar, I am sure he can relate

Well that’s because I play on gfwl most of the time, also in Germany. My PSN Nick is star1138 but I almost never play there because of the inferior connection compared to PC

This matches make me more and more depressed on Makoto’s not entering Evo anymore

Just wanted to point that out, but you saw it yourself. The use of focus dash cancel was a bit off for my taste, esp. against that Ken later I got the feeling that it was autopilot. As a spectator there were a few forward dashes were I would shout, “No, back dash!” And then he got hit a second later.

Regarding the upload on youtube, I guess the chance of complains is quite small, as he is streaming it for free anyway. But on the other hand, If your video would be the reason for him to stop broadcasting, I think that is a risk I would not want to take. Better to re-enact his set ups yourself (Seth cross up, Sakura semi cross up, depending on the timing off jHP) and mention it in the credits. Or try to communicate with him in English and ask for permission

Afaik he never attended evo? There were a few Super Battle Opera matches with him from Vanilla SF4 but that’s about it, He semi retired during the first year of Super?

i remember he did Shadaloo Showdown in Australia 2 yrs ago. He didn’t look like himself. Lost to Toxy who isn’t really that good of an Akuma player. I really wish he would take the game seriously again and do as many majors as he can.

Yeah, and he was a bit jumpy as well. Still, as you said, it’s online casual gaming and he afforded to be a little loose.

I am still impressed by his level of execution, and is training level. He is really a master at keeping his charge. =)

A wise advice, Star. =)

i tried that seth crossup. i don’t know what so great about it. hp even without the claw is way more reliable and it never whiffs if he decided to block crossup.

Except that if you get the timing right, jiHK is unblockable.

hmm, so it really is an unblockable…but i don’t know if the risk is worth it :frowning:

Unblockable doesn’t means unpunishable. Seth’s DP’s hitboxes are more aimed above him that those of regular shotos, so it might or might not be safe. Not to speak about the risk of whiff Niah mentionned. To be tested I suppose. =)

i tested this out so many times, not once have i got an unblockable out. not sure what i’m doing wrong. all i know is that IF the j.hk misses and he happens to be stand teching as your land, you can avoid that risk with a os neutral hk. now i understand why makoto does it so much, it’s just to cover himself from screwing up the setup if he misses. i tested this to be super safe even if you timed it wrong. not even delayed dp works. but as i said, can never get the unblockalbe working…will keep trying though! i wonder if this could be a console only setup thing…i only have pc :frowning:

p.s. this setups with hp is a crossup on rufus

^ I tested on PC and got the unblockable just fine.
The kara throw is not used on the first frame availabe, it feels to be in the 4th or 5th.

ah cool, i just tested it and it works. but i still don’t like how if i whiff, he holds back and stand techs, then i’ll be in the bloody corner. big risk for big reward i guess

Part 1 of 3 MM sets between MMS Bsida (Ken) and myself at EVO 2013. I’ll upload the second part tomorrow Enjoy and feedback is appreciated as always

That clHP cMP link is a trap, personally as a punish when I’m not confident in getting the link I always prefer CH into something or cMK cMP for lesser openings. Damage is a bit lesser but feels more reliable (for CH–EX-ST for instance). And I’m sure someone like you could easily pull CH into SC against a shoryuken.

As for the rest, nice spacing, nice baiting and sweet whiff punishes really. And nice piano music inbetween rounds. =D

some recent matches
(multiple parts because of how twitch splits archived vids)

a cheesy gag video based on “Death Note” for the Summer Jam tournament!

Yooooo, Meteo, I saw one of your matches on youtube against a honda player and have to thank you for showing me the proper way to punish a sumo head butt on block. Standing HP. Genius!

Yeah I think you have to normally take a micro step forward before the HP

Dayum… it looks so much like Jozhear.

Nice matches, Meteo.

You seem to like tricky cross-up setups with SHC… or BHC. I was wondering about the izuna whif cHK into BHC you did against the Sagat, was it just a bait for DP, or does the first hit crosses-up also ?

Same for some jumps against that Sagat, those jHP looked like you wanted to bait him whereas a simple safe jump may have been effective. Aside from that, your play seems to have a good part of vortex/setup and I like that (including some FBA cross-ups attempts at wake-up it seemed). Nice execution as well, so it was globally entertaining to watch. It seems to me you have quite a gambling style in fact. ^^

You can cross up with the first hit of BHC just like you can with EX-Walldive. It’s so hard to do and such a large risk it’s almost always a terrible idea unless you need to go all-or-nothing, I really only tried it for fun! I cannot tell you how many times people call me “random vega” or make note of the risks I take, its been that way since vanilla and even several big names and commentators have mentioned the same thing. Some people complain, some seek me out to practice vs it. I can play patient too so it’s a stark contrast I use to mix up my game, and the threat of full-screen walk-ups and reversal U2’s can establish a powerful fear aura. Even vs big names I never respect them in a match until they prove they can chase down and punish every blocked EX-FBA. The arrogance of Vega’s personality took over my playstyle and drew me to him further!
