Your opponent should usually never be close enough to you to FADC DP.
You have longer normals. You have safe jumps. You can observe their meter. You can gamble with backflips.
Vega has the tools to deal with it.

^ They can jump.
If they jump in on knockdowns don’t get knocked down.
If they jump in during neutral game and get into block strings, tic throws, tech punish that’s more user error imo.
Agreed. I don’t think its OP at all but even with green bar there is some delay… Not complaining about it but merely speculating.
I used to think like you, but then I took a dive kick to the knee.
I hate that joke. But it is true. Things don’t work like that.
You can’t zone people all day without a proper anti air. And you won’t tech perfectly forever as well.
Yeah, my FT 10 with arguably the best Rufus in my country.
Me at: 16:40 (but who cares?)
My Claw at: 19:50
58:00 for nice finish.
You play very good Haztlan, Jump HK cross and using Cl.HP are very ambiguos , I learned a lots from this
I didn’t know you had anger issues. Noone is complaining, 3 fr. normal grab is fast IMO, and that’s it. Some can agree some won’t. And noone ever has beaten me by that DP FADCing tactic, it’s not about loss and vitory but that it is a very cheap and inferior tactic, the same thing you say. The grab thing also has nothing to do with loss or victory as Vega is the char that abuses grabs most, so I’d be grateful to it if it was about that. I don’t know how you get to talk to people like that because of clashing opinions but vomit somewhere else.
Me vs. Grimmz (former top NorCal Ryu) in a FT10. NSFW by the way. Hope you all enjoy the vids and check out his channel if you are interested in game walkthroughs
Anyone here besides myself and Chris King going to SCR 2013 by any chance?

Firstly, great new videos. All of them are very entertaining to watch. Seems like after ~2 Years of v2012 the level of Vega play is decent at least with those who still play.
Second: Can’t believe no one posted this before, new makoto vid! @21.15

Edit: damn uploaded 13.01.2012, anyway for those who don’t look at previous pages in this thread…
me vs Chino (best swedish ken) in a ft5. I choked on a few combos, got the worst nerves ever, otherwise i thought it was an ok set. My university doesn’t have flash on their computers so i can’t check at what exact point the set is, but if i remember correctly it’s after the 1h 30mins mark, after the matches between Rufus and Dictator.
Yeah, it’s at 1h38.
Excellent match, overall. Your walk cLP/cMK/sLK « blockstrings » were specially impressive: that gives you an offensive styled Claw which i find really cool. And nice combos, including cLP ones. You were not confident in EX-RCF into cMP EX FBA though, and that’s a pity 'cause you landed it quite often. And you defense was quite solid too.
One thing though, you understood a bit late that your opponent was a masher, and he surprised you a few times with wake-up/blockstrings reversals. More FBA cross-up could have helped in such circumstances. I give you that his offensive skills are great indeed, but he was pressing buttons a lot.
But good FT5, as I said. ^^
Yeah, i usually land the cl.hp / ex rcf combos no prob, but as soon as i get a tad nervous i start dropping it, really bad thing i got going. One redeeming factor is that i was hungover as all hell, haha. But his ken is hard to defend against due to him being very unpredictable and not afraid to take risks.

I don’t like the style he is using right now. Claw is most dangerous at mid range, I don’t consider turtling at long range as a good choice. Players who do tend to rely more on random EX-FBA than footsies. That’s only my opinion. =)
I agree, that jump back nj style does well against adon and to a lesser extent viper, but not bison.
Yo. Just dropping by to link Footage of some of my matches from a tourney earlier this month.
been away from the game for a bit (I’m still “technically” away coz I dont really practice anymore) but I started playing again for a 5v5 thing with my local scene and I’m looking to improve so any critique/suggestions are appreciated.
Lots of rust and stupid shit (Hella no-fucks-givens Ultras, kept trying to AA with c.MP for some reason -.- etc) but yeah any tips will be helpful lol.

When you are playing v Ibuki st.HK works better than ST if you are trying to mash out a counter during her block strings.
I wouldn’t mash anything during Ibuki’s blockstrings aside backdash, unless you see an overhead coming. A counterhit would lead to knockdow, and a knockdown against a good Ibuki can lead quickly into a dizzy.
I I would have changed something, maybe it would have been the flip/RCF into random ultra gimmick. Anyway, the firs streamed match was fun, and I like the pressure you put at the end. =)
Lol yeah not really the Ibuki MU expert (as you can see) so i was just trying out shit and see what works >__>
I’d like to say that I dont usually do that but random Ultras are something I’ve been doing alot in recent tourneys for some reason lol. If it helps I switched very recently to U2 as I was always rockin U1 in practically every MU and those gimmicks are waaaay better with U1 coz there’s no flash before it…
Its still bad to do but so much fun when it hits loool, generates hella salt too.
