Matador Video Thread

Some amazing reads by Uenis there, great to see some prolonged Vega footage from xblackvegetax

Scary Juri mixup pressure tho , too bad he couldn’t take one.

Moar Makoto0124!

Motherfucking beaten with my own upload. >:|

Lol, thanks for the post.

Sorry. But I learn A LOT watching Makoto play. His crouch tech punish are godlike.

It’s astonishing ランボー怒りのスパ4(called “Lanbo/Ranbo”, probably “The furious Rambo of Street Fighter IV”) has such a huge BP lead. He WAS a master Claw in Vanilla and all, but I never found his gameplay to be that impressing whatsoever. I uploaded 2 of his matches on youtube two years ago but haven’t been able to find any new recordings on YT at all. Will need to search @NicoNico again soon, I think.

EDIT: Found some late '11 matches, doesn’t seem to work atm. I will get my hands on them later tho! :'D

Yes please upload, I’ve never seen any footage of him.

Acoording to this http://kyosuke.kun.free.fr/Ranking/index.php?fighter=clawhe only has 67 win percentage, in contrast to cat-k with almost 80. So his high BP could be just the sum of massive grinding? “Just” is relative of course, he is still number one.

Edit: Du to the fact that nobody is playing on PSN and those who do are unable to maintain a proper A+ rank, I am now the official #1 PSN Claw! Online Warrior FTW

Don’t tell me you feel IGNORED on GFWL ? =D

Iirc Arai doesn’t play in that big of an arcade, so the percentage of strong players might be actually low where he lives. Could explain the high win percentage. Anyway, I’ll get my hands on it.

EDIT:

Found him pretty easily. Pretty mediocre gameplay though. Will scan some more videos of him. First match is against a dan.

@5m30s: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm15592343 (decent gameplay this time around!)
If you’re not registered on NicoNico Douga, use this redirector to watch the videos:

So Vega is top ten, eh ? Please, seriously…

Nice play from ChrisKing though. He only did a few mistakes (but top tiers do not need more to take a win), and was a bit off with okizeme (safe-jumps over and over), but his execution was nearly perfect.

Worth the watch. =)

About next match: Please tell me if mproll and lproll can be stopped like this or are they true blockstrings?

And some Uenis:

Wow I need to make a coffee first and then check out half an hour, thanks!

Btw: I am having trouble watching the Nico Nico videos. I registered and after that the player starts playing but no vid or sound. Just black with some commentary floating from right to left which can be turned off. Suggestions?

Some matches were out some monthes ago, right ? It’s a nice compilation anyway.

About your question, I wondered about it. It seems that at close range (1.1 maybe, almost cLK range) LP-RCF is a true blockstring. I tried to mash Ken’s HP DP without success during the cancel.

However, there is a gap somewhere inbetween MP/HP (and possibly EX) RCF, and I got owned many times by harcore mashers. =D

So clHP MP/HP-RCF aren’t true blockstrings. But I believe point blank cMK/cLP/cLK into LP-RCF are. =)

And for those who wouldn’t know, if you’re just further than cLK’s range when canceling into LP-RCF, first hit will whiff and you would be open for something like 7 frames (enough to eat any lights normals).

Dimenion vs Zeus

[details=Spoiler] IMO the main problem of Zeus in this match is he remembers the projectile inv. start-up of ex.ST so late in the match. Realising this, Dimenion just mashes SB next to him on his wake-up, which are normally all punishable by ex.ST. <zeus remembers this at the end and does it. And Dimenion never does close SBs again.

The second problem is, Zeus’s reactions are bad throughout the match. He is just crouching and waiting and when Dimenion jumps in on the down-back charging Vega, you expect Zeus will do the ultra but no. Even somewhere he gets a big momentum while he is nearly dead. And knocks Dim. down. Then you can see he is d-b charging. And Dim. does a wake-up SB like a noob. And you don’t see the U2 from Zeus but he just blocks altough he knows the chip will kill him.

The same goes for St as an aa. He is crouching and has the charge. And when Dim. jumps in while he is charging he doesn’t do a ST but instead does meaningless cr.mps or does nothing.

He gets to hit a ex.roll but doesn’t continue the combo. Or does contantly hit with cr.mks but doesn’t continue the combo.

And the last seconds. You did an unbelievable thing and landed the worst super in the game to Dim. in a tournament. He is one chip away from being dead. And you jump in on his wake-up although he has full super meter.

Don’t know.I think Zeus wasn’t feeling well that day. [/details]

That’s the second evo in a row where a vega landed a super. Neat

but this video is not from EVO, look the date. And what about the first super landed?

My mistake, Dunno why I thought it was from EVO.

During pools in 2011 this guy named ChoKing managed to land a super on KayoPolice

@Star: Try again a little later.

I find none of these two players (Chris G/Zeus) to be really amazing, btw. First one’s often sloppy on punishes and oki, his defense is rather poor to watch also. Props for winning against so many well-known players in the country though.

Hey guys

here is a moneymatch between Luffy and me. too many jumps, i know :stuck_out_tongue:

Very nice reactions. Really. That is the most shining aspect of your Vega in this matches. Every back dash is punished with exfba. Some jump attempts were instantly punished with ST. whiffed grab attempts are punished with cr.mk and then combo. Slow fireball punished with U1. Her ultra 1 is escaped with landing away. And you instantly saw her super autocorrected to the other side and so you changed your landing side (if that was not luck, it was impressive  )
Your execution is a little off though. More than few cr.mps were missed after cr.mk and some were punished.
You can be jumpy, which is no problem as obviously Luffy didn’t punish these jumps. Nearly none of them.
Going for izuna to Rose is not a good idea as her slide will help her escape easily as she practically becomes the floor itself. And after seeing Luffy did absorb the first hit of exslice and backdashed the second, you should give up the idea of izuna.
But have I told your reactions are great?
