Makoto is back in town
Makoto is really good at sensing opponents’ hesitations and kara throwing them. He plays Vega exactly like he should be played.
Wow yeah, I looked pretty nervous, but I actually felt fine. I really wanted to win that one.
Something interesting to notice from the video is the final cl.hp that won me the match. It wasn’t a counter hit - which suggests he wasn’t even blocking, or he was jumping. Maybe he thought I was going for a grab…

I love that j.hp- cr.mk- cr.lp- cr.mp- ex bar but can never land it in a real match, just go to cr.mp after the cr.mk.
I generally like Makoto very much, altough I don’t see him as “the greatest Vega”. He lands so many single blows and don’t pursue them with combos, just leaves it with that.
Keep in mind that he probably hasn’t played since Shadowloo Showdown (where he still made top 16 even with a huge break), but back in Super he was the greatest Vega player.
I don’t know, I’ve always liked Tatsu better. I think I respect execution better than reactions. Tatsu never drops any combo but Makoto is better in reacting to his opponent.
Once upon a time, there was a player called Agent Hoy, and I loved how he played. But he disappeared.
I like Tatsu as well, although he trolls way too much. But him and Makoto were always my favorite Vega’s.
