Good shit, This happened to me once last night, but being the lazy person that I am never bothered with it. Do you suppose its a hit box change? I can see why I works on EX DP because of how far RYu goes forward before hitting somebody, but on LP.DP It may be because of how they changed that DP hit box. Is this limited to Ryu? I’ll check this out on other characters.

If you do check it out on other characters, make sure that you are doing it right first. It is very hard. Not only do you have to input the dash and walking frames exactly but you have to also attack at the exact frame as well, or they could walk under you or duck it or succeed with the reversal. I don’t think it works on Yun, but I have a feeling that it works on Guile.

Just found out that Showdown is on right now, I haven’t heard of Makoto playing yet though.
EDIT: Makoto just played his 2nd Match, he beat a Chun and Sagat. Ya’ll missed a FA crumple into cl.HP xx EX RCF combo, and fucking insane poking ranges.

Naa, he’s still in losers. It was close as hell though, he played pretty conservatively against Suiming’s Sagat and each match point against Makoto he had to comeback. It really shows how weak Vega is against fireball characters. I think he may have to play Mago in the top 16 first, even if he isn’t I doubt he can duck the Twins much longer.
i think makoto played very poorly vs that sagat…poor cosmic heals, poor fba’s, not using ultra while in range of a barrage of fireballs, jumping in alot while he knew that sagat was on point with tiger uppercuts… it wasn’t a fitting match for the god of vega 
He was lucky to win it and i think he maybe did not deserve the win there even though im happy he won, because there is still a vega in now. Lets see how far he gets 
Not to be a dick, but criticizing a top player like Makoto is kind of silly, at least IMO. Obviously he didn’t play perfectly (though who ever does?) but it’s easy for anyone to say what he should or shouldn’t have done in hindsight.
I’m getting the feeling that Makoto knows every single range of any normal/jumparc in the game. I need to get my hands on a YT version somehow, since it’s kinda hard to illustrate some points without precise links; maybe I’ll upload one later in the day. But man, some of those matches are just incredible.
