Yea personally I hate TAC’s, not a fan of giving my opponent a chance to break out of my combos. The only time I’ve ever gone for them is by mistake when I mess up a fly/unfly. But that was a solid ironman combo, Im not 100 but I think if the opponent is that high up on the plasma storm bubble sentinel can link a second plasma storm before they hit the ground.
So uh, my Sent did put in some work (he had to since the rest of my team got bodied). Against F. Champ, I got completely whooped but there’s a nice Sentinel comeback at like the third match if you want to check it out. A lot of Sentinel comebacks happened in my match against Grimey. Here they are:

Yo I had no idea sent could fly cancel confirm off a st. by himself in xf lvl 3, that is nuts. And just for giggles, how do you hit the taunt before the rocket punch without x-factor? I tried but could only get it out in lvl 3 xf.
Yeah that Infrit vid was dope. And to hit the taunt before rocket punch you just have to time it right. Finish your air magic series with your j.S as low to the ground, you dont even have to be in XF for it to work. Jak d ripr I saw you at toryuken do you still run x/sent/akuma? cus i run skrull/sent/akuma and i was wondering if there was any sent/akuma tech that we could exchange (i like watching knives play just to steal some of his tech).
for example i saw him do HSF, DHC into akuma Beam, Xf immediately, switch to sent, jump, j.H, j.S combo. That was pretty sweet when i saw it.
Yea I still run trish/sent/akuma, I don’t think I have anything you don’t already know, but ill share nonetheless. With sent akuma if you do :a1: st. :qcb: :s: it actually combos, so you can fly cancel your normal without fear of you dropping a potential combo(also works with cr., j.:h: and st/cr. :h: depending on the distance). What I like to do at this point is either fly up and unfly into full combo if it hits, or if they block it unfly right as akuma stops hitting them and snatch their asses up in either a regular grab or command grab depending on where I am on screen. When they start expecting that I switch it up and hit em with the cr.. As an addition to that, while they are blocking the tatsu sometimes I fly really low and hit em with a j.:s:, depending on the altitude, it whiffs sometimes but they will be expecting it to hit so they either mess up their push-block and eat the ensuing cr. or sit there waiting for it to hit while I command grab their asses. If your trying to creat space you can also do tatsu st. drones, its kinda useful and in the corner it actually combos allowing sent to get a combo off the drones.
Everything else I have you definitely know about, the fly over incoming character mix-up that knives and fanatiq use so frequently, the full screen :h: cr.:h: HSF combo into beam. You got anything for me though?

Both Sentinel’s are playing their fullscreen neutral, Joker on the Left in black, Nick on the right.
Here’s what I don’t understand: Nick does st.M xx Fly forward j.M xx Unfly. Joker on the other side, Meets Nick’s j.M with his own.
What i find weird here is that instead of Nick’s j.M being outpoked, you can actually see that he blocks Joker’s. The answer to that would be “yeah, because he did unfly” but if he did unfly, why is his vulnerable hitbox still out there at j.M max range?
That shit makes no sense, and it’s hard to see anyway.
lol I actually paused it at 7:55 and yea you can actually see sentinel blocking the j. but the actual j. he is blocking is a few meters away from him. Prolly just a glitch, maybe the game didn’t recognize the reduction of sentinel hitbox since his unflies happen at 1 frame. For sure whatever is actually happening has something to do with sentinel unflying.
The real question is how the hell you spotted that, I had to rewatch the clip 3 times to make sure it wasn’t just sentinel blocking because of the unfly.
I was paying very close attention to the match, haha. I’m trying to up my sentinel, so I tend to pay a lot of attention when I’m seeing Joker/Nick/RayRay/Fanatiq on screen with the bot.
So unknown decided to do a sentinel guide, I haven’t watched it yet and as an idea I greatly appreciate it, but he is honestly one of the worst sentinels out there. I woulda rather had a guide from almost anyone else, rayray(obviously), fanatiq, rowtron, knives, dios x, heck even smoothviper. Dude even plays sentinel on point at the start of the video and he gets bopped for his problems.

so after a friend of mine repaired my stick, i started to get back to work in the lab and i noticed something during sentinel’s infinite combo if you do late-to-ground side exchange (the wallbounce)

I’ve had this happen to me a couple of times (especially online). What happened was that I delayed a st. and did :s: to launch them for a quick TAC (like Nova/Magento)
I tried to do a combo and HSD prevented me from landing Plasma Storm after a Rocket Punch :l:, but I remedied it by calling an assist beforehand (Nova B assist) so it allowed me to get the combo.
I found out that you can get this weird effect SOLO; I just did a re-launch BnB and instead of landing and doing :s:, I just did forward + :s: and got the effect for a continued combo.
That’s just causes by a tac hitting very very close to the ground. The down whiff tac causes a ground bounce and hard knockdown, the side one not so much except a wallbounce. There’s not much u can do off it except maybe get a jump S off of it. Unfortunately, the whiffed tacs that cause the bounces can be countered
