Mass Effect 2. Somebody's getting shot and thrown out a window

Wait are you playing the first one? 3-4 houurs in you would’ve done two teammate quests and blown up half of omega. ME2 picks up pretty fast compared to any other bioware game. the only thing that would make it slow is if you have no idea what to do or you’re purposely blowing time talking to npc’s.

Thanks for all the tips guys. I thought the Krogan just re spawned indefinitely. Will definitely give these a whirl tomorrow.

It’s these little things that make Mass Effect 2 such a sick game:

Any of you been having collision or gravity glitches? When doing grunts dossier mission, theres a point where there is a fork in the road and you fight a bunch or krogans from either high or low ground.

While trying to jump over a box i was hiding behind from, i slowly started to float into the air, higher and higher until the map was a tiny blip on my screen, i had to rely on my npc’s to finish the fight off, which took like 15 minutes because i had to revive them over and over. When it was all over, i kept running in the sky until i teleported back onto the ground below.

fucking weird.

I’ve had that happen twice. I don’t remember one place but the other was one of the random planet missions where it’s really foggy and you turn on beacons to find the tower while fighting those crab monsters.

“This one doesn’t have time for your solid waste excretions.”

There’s so much humor in this game, it’s incredible. The advice that Mordin gives to femShep on sex with turians still floors me when I think about it. People on Giant Bomb have started Harbinger memes.

Harbinger memes? Oh geez, what next T… ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL

The collision issue is due to poor map programing happens on every map in certain situations concerning walls. Its actually very common and i can reproduce the glitch sometimes at will or predict when it will happen. Just EAs fault for pushing to get the game out so fast that they missed the bug testing.

So is warp ammo still one of the best abilities to have?

I personally think that it is. It’s effective against both armor and biotic barriers.

I’d like to discuss one of the most underrated powers in the game(in my opinion). Even when they’re just down to their health, krogan are still a threat. They can do absurd damage, regenerate, and charge. However, it’s very, very easy to stop them right in their tracks if you or one of your party members has access to the ultimate anti-krogan power: Concussive Shot.

Concussive Shot is just one of the reasons why I consider Zaeed the overall best squad mate. In addition to Concussive Shot(“SIT DOWN!!!”), he has a massive damage boost in his class talent(plus fifty percent!), the often-overlooked Inferno Grenade, and Disruptor Ammo. On top of that, he has access to assault and sniper rifles. In terms of pure statistics, the only character who can do more damage than Zaeed is Shepard. Zaeed is nuts.

Zaeed is pretty beastly. I didn’t know that he gets a 50% damage boost tho. thats pretty insane

Concussive shot only works though if their shields are down.

Zaeed has the tools to take out just about every type of defense. He has disruptor ammo to take down shields, inferno grenade to damage armor, and concussive shot, which damages barriers and knocks a target down if they don’t have any defenses anymore.

I think a lot of people sleep on Mordin. He terrorizes any organic enemy. I never really used him during my first playthrough as an infiltrator (since infiltrators already have incinerate), and I imagine that engineers wouldn’t want to bring him along either, but he’s hella handy if you’re a vanguard. Mordin is the tech person I bring during Collector missions. He’s able to take down armor and he’s got crowd control, allowing my Vanguard to charge constantly on Collector missions on insanity (a tactic that would normally get me killed).

Not really, it is very good but there are better ones. If your class have it’s own ammo power not much point to take it.

Otherwise AP ammo is generally the more useful choice since the tougher enemies in the game all have armor.

Other powers are more fun though.

The best bonus talent depends on your class. Reave is never a bad decision, though.

Yes, but once all resistances are gone, some enemies(krogan) are still a threat if you can’t incapacitate them in some form.

When i get to the mid point of the game where i can upgrade and learn a new weapon class, which should i pick? (im a infiltrator on insane difficulty btw.) Learn to use assault rifles since i have max wrap ammo, or pick up that new sniper rifle? (The Widow).

The Widow is the best weapon in the game.

If you can’t get Widow or Revenant from the upgrade, you’re best of getting yourself AR training - it’s the best, high ammo, consistant form of damage if you can get the collectors or geth AR compared to upgrading anything else
at least for me as a sentinel, having only pistol or SMG is rough

oh and im stealing this from giantbomb
