Mass Effect 2. Somebody's getting shot and thrown out a window

I just can’t stand Grunts fucking character design. He’s a shade better than Samara, who is hideous, but he’s still pretty bad

On second thought, I give it a 10 based on miranda’s ass.

What does anime have to do with liking a voice actor or not?

No, they haven’t. Making somebody switch discs does not make them a shit company. Get the fuck out of here with that bullshit.

Honestly though, if thats the worst they can find about this game. They did a good job.

It’s not that switching discs bothered me. It’s the fact I had to go from disc 2 which I had been on for a good 15-20 hours BACK to disc 1 for the final area.
That doesn’t make sense to me at all.

i agree that was weird, but that still is a very small thing to complain about

Yeah. I’m not even really complaining about it. But it was a HUGE wtf moment.

Yeah i dont know what bioware was doing switching disc 1, to 2, then back to 1 at the end. Did they run into a data manage goof up during development? I cant see the reasoning in it.

But w/e. Just beat the game. It fucking rules. Will start 2nd playthrough soon.

I hate to sound like a bitter old shrew, but didn’t certain PlayStation games come on three discs or more? Also, didn’t certain PC games of that era and earlier come on upwards of five or six? Two disk switches doesn’t seem to be that big of a deal, although I admit that the switch to disk one at the end of the game isn’t something I myself can explain.

I was taken back by it for a minute, but I think the reasoning is pretty obvious. The meat and potatoes of the game is on disk 2, but because there are so many possible outcomes for the ending they had to put all of the videos on the first disk along with the opening video.

You just saved me hours upon days upon weeks of brain-hurt. Thank you.

Riven: Sequel to Myst was like 5 discs I think.

Blade Runner was 4.

Started a new game. Playing as an infiltrator, and I have to say they are insanely good. They might even give sentinels a run for their money. Their only real weakness is barriers, but reave/warp ammo can compensate.

I personally chose dominate as my extra power. The idea was to make an overlord-type character who can take control of any enemy (AI Hacking takes care of machines and dominate comes in handy against the collectors).

I have to say it’s a lot more boring than I thought it’d be. I spend most of my time behind cover, continually brain washing an enemy, trying to bring down another enemies shield, and then taking control of them. I’m probably going to change it to warp ammo or reave because I dare say it’s almost too easy.

Feel like tiering the classes, here goes:

Top:
Sentinel - Tech armor doubles shield power, replenishes shields when activated, lasts until destroyed, knocks down enemies when destroyed, and if that weren’t enough it gives 15% power damage boost. But wait, there’s more! You can get 15% more power damage from the class skill along with a -20% cooldown, or you can get a -30% cooldown and a duration boost.
But of course, that isn’t even the most impressive thing about the class. They’re the only one to have warp AND overload, meaning they have effective abilities against armor, shields, and barriers. The only thing they’re missing is an ammo power, but that’s easily amended.

Infiltrator - Cloak is an incredible ability. You will simply survive in situations you’d otherwise never have a chance in. You can have two giant mechs flanking you from two different directions and all you’ll have to do is cloak and run to a better position. Simply amazing. This class is also blessed with one of the best ammo types in the game, disruptor ammo, which meshes well with cloak since you can have them both active at the same time. They are also pretty well rounded, since they have incinerate to burn through flesh and armor, while AI hacking can help immensely during the geth missions. They also get access to sniper rifles, and their class power slows down time while aiming, so you can almost always get a headshot. (did I mention you can get +50% sniper rifle headshot damage from an upgrade?). Their only weakness is a lack of effective attacks against barriers, but again that can be fixed with advanced training abilities.

Second Tier:
Engineer - Combat drone is great, and having a discount on research costs is just an awesome perk (less mining is always good). Access to overload and incinerate helps, but they suffer the same problems with barriers as the infiltrator does. However, unlike the infiltrator, they are limited to pistols and smgs. Furthermore, they don’t have the same defensive options. The drone won’t always get the attention of an enemy. When I’m cornered, I’d rather have the cloak than the drone. Unfortunately, giving the engineer something like a geth shield boost means you can’t choose an ability to help overcome barriers. So engineers ultimately have to choose between being fragile or having a hard time against collectors.

Soldier - Massive life and weapon damage, access to every weapon, and an ammo type for every occasion. Exclusive access to high damaging assault rifles is a nice perk. Soldiers are a powerful, straightforward class. However, their biggest weakness is a lack of crowd control. They actually have the same problem as the engineer. They can choose between the geth shield or an ability to make up for their weakness. They can’t have both.

Third Tier:
Vanguard - Charge is an underrated move, which can get you killed if used incorrectly. However, it can be a life saver when used correctly. Despite it’s impressive range, I believe it is best used when someone is rushing into you up close. If your life is low and someone is moving in for the kill, go ahead an charge them. You’ll regain shield power and probably stun them, provided they aren’t a boss-type enemy of some kind (Harbinger, heavy mech, etc.). It has near instant activation too, so it is quite similar to a SRK in that regard. (will save you from stun lock most of the time against swarms of husks, but then again cloak/tech armor will too)

That being said, they don’t have effective attacks against barriers or shields. Shockwave is still an effective move that really helps against swarms of husks, but outside of that… what do they have? The reason they break even with adepts is because of shotguns, and the shield recharge that charge provides along with opportunities for high damage melee.

Adepts: On reappraisal, they may be slightly better than vanguards. This is solely because of warp, which helps massively against armor and barriers. Outside of that however, they leave much to be desired. Singularity works in mostly the same capacity as pull, and their class skill may actually be inferior to the sentinel’s with regards to cool down reduction.

Jin are your tiers based on Insanity difficulty? It’s been discussed quite a bit on other forums but Infiltrators are S tier on Insanity with Reave/Warp Ammo/Tungsten Ammo as their bonus power, shit makes Insanity way to easy. Playing with Reave myself; Dominate and AI Hacking are garbage on this difficulty. :bluu:

Infiltrator + Warp Ammo is definitely the best class in the game, largely due to the fact that there really isn’t anything it can’t handle. Sentinel + Tungsten Ammo is the same way, but unfortunately, the damage output on a Sentinel will always be lower than that of an Infiltrator due to the huge damage bonus granted by Assassination Cloak.

In theory, the best possible team in the game is an Infiltrator accompanied by Zaeed Massani and Miranda Lawson. Zaeed has the highest raw damage output of all eleven squad mates in addition to being able to eliminate shields(Disruptor Ammo) and armor(Inferno Grenade) with ease. Miranda, meanwhile, has Warp, Overload, and a squad-wide damage bonus. Too fucking broke.

Has anyone been using the Dr.Pepper DLC helmets? I’m really enjoying the Recon+5 Weapon Damage and Umbra+5 Power Damage. I don’t like Dr.Pepper and don’t feel like buying another one just for the +5 Sheilds, can’t think of any class could benefit from it a whole lot.

You guys really have a problem with male Shepard’s voice? I think it sounds fine, though it does sound considerably better when he’s being a Renegade, at least in my opinion.

I normally change the aesthetic of my Soldier every two the three missions just to use pieces I otherwise wouldn’t and see what looks good with what color schemes. Or to run around as hot pink Sheperd. Seems appropriate since it is a normal mode character.

If you go back a few pages I linked to the CAG thread that had free codes to use on the DP website. Unless they’ve changed the rules (as of this post it doesn’t appear they did) all it took was giving three seperate e-mails, fake or real doesn’t matter just like the information, and you could get all three helmets for free. Was quick and easy. For reference since you said buy and I’m assuming you meant buying the pop not doing this process.

Awesome, thank you. That saved me 2$.
