Tell that to Uncharted 2
I’m playing the PC version, the load screens are substantially better than they were in ME1. I’ve never sat looking at the load screen for longer than 5 seconds, whereas the C-sec elevator seemed like it took an eternity.
I actually haven’t started my file on ME2 yet because for some reason it didn’t acknowledge my level 60 Soldier File so I am playing through with my level 60 (again).
But my question is this: None of the side quests have an effect on ME2 right? Just the main story line planets(Feros, Noveria, Virmire, Ios) and what you do there?
Because I really don’t want to do every side quest over again because I get nothing out of them since I am max level, best equipment, max paragon/renegade and cash.
Some people from side missions show up here and there, and you’ll hear news clips about some of the stuff you did or didn’t do.
Damn. Atleast 2 playthoughs for my main character (of 3) I really wanna get the terminator eyes. I had them for bit then I guess I have been getting paragon, but I’m not healed fully. All evil baby!
For anyone who doesn’t want to play through ME again but wants to import a character. I downloaded a save, it was a level 60 default male Shep with the character background and decisions I would’ve made and can confirm it works. Very useful considering ME2 runs with no problems at 1080p but ME1 will randomly freeze on me even in the lowest settings so I couldn’t play the game even if I wanted to (only one completed ME1 save file and wanted to start a new character).
The Medical Exoskeletons drop if you play on Insanity. If you’re a level fifty-four Soldier, then it shouldn’t be too hard, especially if you have Immunity maxed out. You also get more XP on Insanity than any other way.
Trust me, dude, if you’re on Insanity, then insert weapon/ammo/armor mod X will drop like the fuckin’ autumn rain.
It depends on the side quest in question. Some of them have a rather profound impact, but most only show up in the second game in the form of a message at your private terminal, telling you either “thanks for helping me” or “you fucked me over, I’m going to hunt you down and eat your flesh.”
I fucking love Club Afterlife <3
Being able to hotkey you and your squads spells without stopping combat thanks to the shitty Power Wheel the 360 gets makes that a huge difference between the 360 and PC. PC combat is so a lot smoother because of the hotkeys.
Beat the game and it was amazing. Lots of terrible elements in the game, but the core of the game (which seems to be gun battles) was great.
A couple things I hate about this game:
-
Mining needs to go. Or make it faster. Shit is just gay and stupid. Instant mining needs to return or maybe battles over resources with other merc groups would be nice.
-
More guns. I don’t need ME1 level of guns but for christ sake outfit me with some gear since I am an operative for cerberus and a fucking spectre.
-
No more load screens. Almost no character interaction and dialogue in game. Put the elevators back in. If only a few.
-
More expansive environments. The environments were bigger but they were linear. What the hell happened to exploring the galaxy?!
-
More branches on powers. I liked the overall idea for powers but more choices would be nice.
-
What happened to individual cool down for powers? They changed it universal and that’s step backwards to me.
-
More puzzles or more diversity. I love the new ones but some more would be nice.
-
Get rid of the male voice actor. Hale rapes this guy for free. Play as the female and listen to the difference. It’s incredible. He sucks so bad. All he does is read the script. How could he not have improved from ME1? Good lord.
That’s about it for now. lol Game is great but falls short of the hype for me. The gun play is great, but you can run and gun just the same. I went 90% of the game without leveling up once as a vanguard and had no issues. Something is wrong there. I just think the game is far too streamlined and “casual” for anyone who wanted a action RPG better than the first. some serious issues regarding implementing some key RPG elements. I would dare say dragon age beats this game easily if you were to compare the two.
Yeah, I love the world and the story and If I look at it as a shooter, it is a good game. It just feels like Bioware decided that since they have already hooked the RPG fans that now they will go after the Gears, Uncharted 2 crowd who were not crazy about the RPG elements. It would be like if the next Fallout game got rid of Vats, got rid of the wasteland and teleported you directly to the quest areas, Got rid of the inventory system and reduced the leveling to upgrading your gun ala Bioshock.
I think that I am going to get this game again because I like the story THAT much. I guess Dragon Age is going to be their RPG series from now on.
If you walk around Citadel’s stairs with Tali and Garrus in your party they have this awesome dialogue about missing the elevators. It’s lulz.
This game is so epic. The only thing I will complain about is the mining. It’s like they took all the fun of checking for breast cancer, removed the breast, and put it in a game. Fucking boring.
Aight, so fess up, who did you guys end up fucking? I went with Miranda. I wonder if they actually let you see Tali’s face tho… (Don’t count this as a spoiler since everyone knows you get to fuck someone in this game)
^_-;
I’m having too much fun doing sidequests. I haven’t been recruiting characters for some time, and I’m just over 20 hours into the game.
Not on insanity. Just hit 58 and saved liara. Hopefully I can power through to 60.
There is actually a way to save everyone, it is one of the achievements. How you do this I do not know.
tali’s face does not show unfortunately. you can youtube the other sex scenes with jack and tali if you’re curious. i thought kelly was a potential fourth fuck with the flirting but guess not.
i’m leaning towards akuma31’s opinion of sentinel possibly being the best class. as much as i love my vanguard, he has a tough time at the beginning of the game on insanity. loved using pull field on enemies bunched up or shockwave when they were lined up, but every enemy on insanity has at least a second layer of defense (armor/shields) and some have all 3. pull field and shockwave have no affect unless those defenses are gone. you kinda need abilities to take out armor/shields quick. i know that’s what squad mates are for but on insanity, 1 skill isn’t going to be fast enough. 2 is optimal to get through to the health layer quickly. let’s look at sentinel’s abilities:
- throw: disable
- warp: good for armor
- overload: good for shields
- cryo blast: another disable
- tech armor: extra defense
i just recruited mordin, using a team with him and miranda. basic battles go incinerate + warp = no more armor then throw or some other disable and enemy is dead. honestly, any class can probably go through insanity as long as you’re patient and take cover. the only real problems are the enemies that rush you, geth bull dogs/husks/varren. the very first fight after you get miranda and jacob on your team, there are 2 geth bull dogs that rush you. my vanguard had problems with that fight so i just restarted a fresh sentinel. now it’s going pretty smooth as long as i don’t do anything stupid.
Gotcha. Just get whatever Snowblind Rounds you can find if you’re using pistols or assault rifles. That should power you through alright.
Just got the third Sniper Rifle with my Infiltrator. It ruins worlds.
imo.
If anything i wish to expand shepard’s “relationship” with Yeoman Kelly. I swear she’s the love of my life. I’d gladly give up any other of the other LI’s for her.
I seriously think throw is trash and useless.
Is that the Widow? Because I just got that myself and one headshot = dead even if they have barrier or shields (but not both) if you have enough damage upgrades. I can make my headshots do 260% more damage than a normal shot without upgrades (75% from cloak, 50% from sniper rifle upgrades, 15% from leveling up to Assassin, 50% more damage to headshots upgrade, 50% from warp ammo and 10% on extra damage on my helmet). Awesome thing is that the widow is more powerful than most heavy weapons (like rocket launchers) so now I carry the M-920 (mini nuke that will take out bosses like gunships and multiple mechs in a single shot) in my heavy weapon slot.
Fuck yeah.
Love Kelly.
