Not sure if its super useful but I’ve had an EX lariat auto correct against a M Bison teleporting behind me and hit him when he appeared.

Basically it’s a 5 frame safe jump vs most the cast. Anti-Safe jump things still work against it IE Ex Armor cancels and ex Cmd grabs.
If you do a Meaty HP clap on wake up does it matter which active frame the clap hits the enemy on? Like do you get more advantage if you hit the enemy on your last active hit frame rather than your second to last? Or when you hit them do you recovery frames start from that point?
If you hit on the last activate frame you do get more advantage on hit as opposed to any other.
I’m not 100% sure if I’m hitting on the last active frame because if that were true I’d imagine 7 frame reversals could be meatied as well since it’s 5 frames of recovery and hitting on the last active (i’m not exactly great with these the technical stuff)
But if you do hit with the last active frame of clap you can link into another HP clap but not on the second active frame.
Recovery frames don’t start until all the active frames have past and advantage and disadvantage frames are based off when the move first makes contact I believe.

Dunno about option selects but Meatsquasher catches it pretty well.
Anyone mess around with the leap attack? Looking at the frame data it’s active for its duration with 4f recovery on landing, so it’s basically like a mini jumping attack. Seems like a good alternative to meaty clap for reversal happy opponents. I’ve been eyeballing “safe jumps” against characters with slow reversals, but I suspect with the right setups we can find some frame perfect safe jumps with the leap attack on 4f reversals.
This is what I was able to find after a long lab session. I think im timing it wrong against Sagat, but in theory it should work. But so far on the backdashes, i’m only able to catch these two.

You can’t do it against TU. You can beat 6f reversals, but not 5f reversals. Since you need to hit on the last active frame, recover 4 frames, then block, while TU goes active on the 5th frame.

Makes a lot of sense, because I was only able to land it against Hugo mainly. Ive been going around trying to find slow wake ups, but im not to knowledgeable with Ultra’s frame data.
There’s not a lot of stuff in the 6-10f start up area when it comes to reversals, outside of Ultras. Then we reach stuff like Rose’s EX Spiral, Rufus’s EX Messiah, Bisons EX PS/EX Scissor etc that are very slow.
Thanks guys - as for 6-10f startup reversals there’s a few I can think of: Gen ex gekiro, Cody’s new ex Criminal upper, Viper fierce thunder knuckle, juri ex pinwheel, so the above setup could apply in these matches given the same wakeup timing.
Are there any specific setups that give you this meaty timing?
I know you can do cr.mk, 2xfwd.dash, leap attack or lariat, empty jump leap attack and they’re meaty, but i don’t think they’re safe from >5f reversals.
I want to see more Hugo’s punish with cr.jab or use it more in general. Ive stolen a couple of snake eyes tech with Gief and applied them to hugo. They include 3 cr.jab into jab spd(after seeing what they do. if they keep blocking,cr tech or hit a button spd them. if they spam reversals do nothing.) and just 4-5 jabs will net you 205dmg add in a jump attack and you’re looking at 268dmg…for the most basic thing in the game. It’s good damage if you don believe you can punish something like whiffed srk.
I actually use Jabx4 combos a lot, it also trains them to block often as opposed to jump. You can also delay during a chain after 2 or 3, and try to beat a jump back with a standing jab or standing mp or even an ultra (if your waiting for it, not a read).
Does good damage since you can’t link buttons ala thawk, gief, and every other grappler and character besides hakan.
Jab x4 is great. You can even do simple stuff like cross up j. d+HP > Jab x4 for decent damage.
Does the follow up backbreaker after the super not work on all chars, or is it just online being online? I tried it on a Balrog, but it whiffed.
As previously stated, the BB after super in corner works on everyone, some characters u have to do it when they get kinda low to the ground and others are easier to connect it
To add, bb will not connect if super hits on an airborne opp (only U2, but not deep corner afaik).

U2 does connect Deep corner off of the juggle super but only on some characters, i marked those characters with a " * " on my list
