Hi all, Former long time Deejay player now switching over to Hugo. Did some lab wrk for UT character specific combos and here are my results

I found a setup that seems to be working, it is not for delayed standing.

You do cr mk, dash forward jump straight up and do a LP, hugo starts decending faster, and then you do ex ultra throw. Opponent can’t grab it or jab you out of it.

I tried this on oni.

I have some safe jump in sets up against the following (Decapre, Eleana, Makoto, Seth, Juri, Rolento, El Fuerte, Vega, Rose)

Safe jump is after lariat, maybe more so after a LK, or LP combo lariat i guess.

Lariat > forward dash right after > Neutral jump Hk

To make it more abrangent, its a 4 frame safe jump. I found out he has 2 of these:
-Lk Lariat, dash forward, wait a bit, jump
-Cr.Mk, walk forward a bit (about the same time you wait on the previous setup), jump

If you press a button in the air its a 4 frame safe jump. If you empty jump you can block 3-framers (shoryuken)

Have you (or anyone else) done, who meat squasher, st.mp works on?

I’ve got it to work on poison rather consistently at least.

Also do we have any current setups off of back-breaker or lp/mp/hp/ex.spd kind of similar to the setups off of cr.mk and lariat? Just so we can expand the flow chart AND get damage? His spds look similar to Gief in that you get more knockdown time depending on the strength of the spd.

Im pretty sure meatsquasher> st MP works on everyone, but just to make sure ill test tonight to clarify.

Off of lk.backbreaker (I don’t believe the knockdown times are different), I found that you can dash hp.palm and it’s safe from 3fdp, This doesn’t recover as soon as jibbo’s setup, so you can spd as soon as they wakeup. You can make it meaty(ish) by delaying the hp.clap by a moment by walking forward, you can also do the same whiff clap setup by walking forward and doing mp.clap instead.

Sure it beats out 4 frames but more importantly the j. Hk is meaty. Hugo has trouble with wake up times it seems most of the time he comes down too early or he jumped too late. making These set up’s are all automatic sequences.

The beauty is that j.mp/j.hp will hit front and splash will cross-up.

This one is unfortunately a very obvious cross-up but probably works on more characters.

Important notes about corner UT Lariat:

To corner UT Lariat Gen, Sakura, C.Viper, Dee Jay, Cody and Guy, you need to wait longer and do normal inputs for lariat. These characters are especially hard to lariat because you have to do it really late. Too early will get you a backbreaker or lariat in the wrong direction, but too late will make lariat whiff.

To corner UT Lariat Abel and Adon, you need to wait a bit and do reverse inputs for lariat.

Gouken is IMPOSSIBLE to lariat after corner UT. Don’t even dare to attempt this on him.

(midscreen) Ultra Throw, early LK Lariat > s.mp whiff, dash, fj.Splash

Safe jump on: Decapre, Makoto (crosses-up), Dudley (except EX DP), Seth, Elena (except for EX DP),
Juri, Chun Li, Dhalsim, Abel, M.Bison, Sagat (crosses-up), Cammy, Cody (crosses-up), Hakan (crosses-up),Rolento, Poison,
Zangief (crosses-up), Rufus, El Fuerte (crosses-up), Vega, Balrog, T.Hawk (crosses-up), Adon, Rose, Hugo.

On some characters, the more you delay lariat the more chances you have to cross-up. e.g. Rufus. Early and mid timing lariat makes Splash hit front, late lariat makes Splash cross-up. Also about Rufus, early Lariat safe jump OS EX backbreaker will lose to EX Messiah. But mid and late timings will beat it flat. (testing to see if the same is true for all airborne reversals).

(midscreen) Ultra Throw, late LK Lariat > s.mp whiff, dash, fj.Splash
Safe jump on: E.Honda*, ~Ibuki* (crosses-up), Makoto (crosses-up), Sakura* (crosses-up),

*OS EX Backbreaker beats their main reversals

vs grapplers mixup your safe jumps with empty jump ddMK

Safe jump on: Makoto (crosses-up), Juri, M.Bison, Rolento, Poison, Rufus (OS EX BB doesn’t beat EX Messiah :(),

Super good vs Juri and Rolento (because you can cover all their escape option and reversals with this particular safe jump)

Ground Lariat, empty forward jump, dash, EX Backbreaker: (read that they will backdash, jump or reversal)

E.Honda (only EX Butt Slam), Gouken, Gen, Sagat, Cammy, Poison, Guile, Fei Long, T.Hawk, Adon, Hugo.

Ground Lariat, empty forward jump, cr.lk whiff, EX Backbreaker: (read that they will backdah, jump or reversal)

Elena (except backdash), Chun Li, Evil Ryu (except EX DP)… still testing

Ryu/ken: Only works vs L DP. Loses to M DP, trades with H DP.

Meat Squasher, neutral jump, forward jump j.hp/Splash

Safe jump on: Decapre (splash), E.Honda, Ibuki, Gouken, Gen, Sakura(splash), Elena (j.hp),
Juri, Chun Li, C.Viper, Sagat (splash), Cammy (splash), Rolento (j.hp), Poison (j.hp)

Great tech, good job.

Made a vid showcasing OS setups on Rolento. Beats regular/Ex Stinger and if the opponent Ex Delta Escapes you can Lk/Ex Backbreaker on reaction. Loses to delayed wakeup (you can probably just react to the technical message and adjust accordingly though) and U1 (haven’t tested U2). http://youtu.be/rwKgMfYe4pA

moonsault press is a setup for leap attack combos

Care to elaborate?

After moonsault press you will be at the range which you can do the leap attack (d.d+Mk) combos… e.g… d.d+Mk .st (or cr.Lk) . Lk lariat or Super

Leap Attack can actually combo at any range.
After SPD though it’s probably at a nice range to be meaty, to combo much easier.

With leap attack, it’s not about the range, but about hitting it meaty enough so it is at leat +5 on hit.

After a lvl 2 focus crumple backdash, you can HP clap -> Ultra 2 or EX backbreaker. This works even at absolute max range. Only tested on Ryu.

Leap attack will always combo into lp. It doesn’t need to be meaty.

It’s always at least +5. Meaty just makes it easier to combo.
And you can hit it meaty via wakeup or range.

Any range ?? even so close ?? what is the combo ??
