MAS Systems Official Thread

I’ve owned an MAS super pro stick for GC for a few years now and love it. The only problem is it doesn’t work on my Wii at all. Is this something that can be fixed?

If it works for the Gamecube, why it wouldnt work for the Wii? o.O
Mine has a ps2 connection so I just bought a ps2 to wii adapter, and it works wonders with tvc.

By the way, since I still havent received an official answer I guess I will have to send a pm to the right person then.
This is not the first time I upgraded to a p360, and I remember that I was charged around 40-50 dollars last time ( 5 years ago though ).

That is the million dollar question! The Wii does not recognize it at all. I’ve heard some 3rd party GC controllers don’t work on Wii either. I had tried to figure this out a few years ago, but the MAS site was always down and I couldn’t find any support.

Not sure if it was asked in the thread yet, but does MAS offer a stick with the Mortal Kombat layout, Run button included in the proper area of the stick?

What brand is the adapter you purchased and where please? Thanks!

i was wondering if u guys make custom layouts for diffierent games, like instead of the standard straight 8-button layout could u make a umk3 layout

Their straight 8 button layouts work well with MK games. I use my MAS 8 button specificly for MK games. My layout would be something like this…

— HP BL HK
RN LP — LK

Hello Masystems. I bought a joystick like 2 years or so ago for the PC and i had to plug it into the keyboard slot(wasnt even USB lol). I dont use it on the PC anymore and was wondering if i could get it changed so it works for my PS3? Just would need to open it and add the PS3 stuff i guess. How much would that be? Thanks

Just ordered another mas stick from anthony. Expecting the same great high quality parts from an old stick I bought from them a long time ago.

Where do we place an order? AnthonyMAS hasn’t been on SRK in awhile.

Like someone said earlier, they happ sticks that they used to sell have changed manufacturers, and now the quality is not as good as it used to be ( I had 2 sticks before ). IL sticks are the way to go now, but they dont sell those. My happ stick is not working properly after 1 year of regular use ( or less ). This is their new phone number: 714 775 8116
I just want a fast fix for my stick. I will be buying an xbox 360 early next year, so I only want something that would at least last me 3-4 months to use on my ps3 ( I have a massystems with ps2 connectors, and a ps2-ps3 converter ).

Hey guys. I have been trying to contact MAS Systems But they dont answer or reply. I am thinking of going to their place out of Westminster but I dont want to show up unannounced. I think they may have gone out of business. Oh no, Their sticks are legendary. I will get to the bottom of this and let you guys know.

man MAS sticks are legendary. I remember seeing a custom mas stick for the SNES when I was like 11 or 12 (I am 30 now by the way). Man I though it was a control panel from a Arcade Machine and not just a stand alone controller at first; being most other sticks back then were flimsy plastic. I can bludgeon a fully grown adult male to death with this stick and not get a dent, try that with a hori or a Mad Catz.

MAS sticks are build with an old school [or time honored tradition] approach to building that is proven to work on things such as kitchen cabinets, furniture and Arcade Cabinets.

Anthony I glad your trying to help boaster your Family Business, it shows character. You need to work a little on your sales pitch, but your doing good. I know times are tough and your family scraping by, so I not going to argue the PCB thing with you.

From those photos the PIC and its wiring looks sound and done well. People tend to forget electronics were wired by hand before PCBs became popular. What MAS system does for their wiring is not bad, just old school. The Magnavox Odyssey, the very first game console Commercially produced mind you all handed wired components, no PCB at all (and ran on 4 D cell batteries instead of a AC/DC adapter). Perhaps instead of a PCB, you secure your PICs with something other than scotch tape, maybe hot glue or double sided tape. But that is for your engineer to decide, not me. Tell your Engineer keep up the good work ether way. I would love to see MAS pick back up and see them doing business like I did when I was younger.

ive got a custom mas stick with a p360 and convex buttons i wanna either sell or trade for a te.

hit me up with a pm.

Are you using the controller for what games on the Wii. Not all Wii titles support GC controllers, nether all virtual console titles.
GC controllers should work fine on GC games played on the Wii.

All Virtua Console titles accept Gamecube controller.
Now, many WiiWare titles don’t. But all of the VC ones do.

Can someone confirm that these guys are still in business?

MAS has been around for almost 20 years now…I still have SNES and Genesis dual sticks and Neo Geo stuff and an XBOX 360 custom and 2 crazy old Super Novas…

Yeah, I’m curious about this too. I’ve met Thao and his wife, nice people.

Hello,

I am interested in purchasing a stick. I called the phone number but didn’t get a response. Are these guys still around?
