What I see is something that always been present in the character since Frank Miller’s run. Not really realistic but Daredevil is usually gritty and more grounded than most of other Marvel heroes. Read Frank Miller’s Man Without Fear. The show takes most of it’s cues from that book.

I trust Marvel in the casting department, I think Bernthal is going to be great, I just say I would have liked an actor that looks a little more like Castle.

Grillo was kickass in The Winter Soldier, I think he could have done a great Punisher.

And as for Tardio, I don’t know much about his acting but he was fine in Daredevil and it would be like seeing Punisher just popping out of the printed page.

So I finished episode 2, the problem I had with the fight scene in episode 1 looking too fake and every attack whiffing is magnified times 9000 here, the hall way fight scene had good cinematography, I really appreciated how honest it kept the action, but the actual fight itself was really disappoiting, it was so obvious every hit was missing, daredevil is just hitting air there is no sense of impact and it just didn’t seem the least bit believable.

I can’t be the only one who had this issue, I hope the fight choreography gets better, otherwise great show so far, ran with the Batman Begins formula.

I’m not sure if you’re talking about the actor or the character. If you mean the actor doesn’t have fight/stunt experience I understand, but it’s still ultimately the choreographer’s fault for making the fight look so fake and if you mean the character Daredevil himself is new then yeah sure he may be new, but it doesn’t mean he should be hitting air LOL.

I did like how he and the goons he fought all got exhaused as the fight went on that was a very nice touch, but like I said most of the actual punches and kicks themselves were just him hitting the air in front of them and it looked mad obvious so it failed to sell the illusion of looking realistic to me since it was poorly staged.

meant the character…in this version hes just started going out and fighting crime. you notice how more efficient he gets throughout the series. hitting air is from the exhaustion and just plain noobness…it def didnt distract me one bit from it. and your talking to a dude who analyzes fight scenes hardcore.

If they didn’t cast him as Crossbones I would have definitely been okay with him as the Punisher, he was already 90% the Punisher in Purge Anarchy and I enjoyed that movie and his performance in it.

Tbh I’m 100% certain if people hadn’t seen that Purge sequel no one would be talking about this fucking guy being The Punisher. One movie & everyone’s on his dick, (not saying anyone here before you start whining) knowing full well had they not seen it Grillo would’ve been just another guy who got his ass kicked in a tiny elevator by Cap.

Maybe man, like I said as far as I know i havent seen any of his work so he could ace it but judging from first appearances am kinda meh over the whole thing. I wasnt expecting Calvin Klein model but to the same extent I wasnt expecting Krusty the clown either.

Daredevil already introduced a mystical element with the old, female chinese mob boss, and possibly with the kid that stick killed, black sky. If the studio is legit debating on mystical powers or not, i hope someone slaps the taste into their mouths, and says of course he will have mystical super powers. Its a part of the mcu anyways, a universe where thanos all that magical thor shit, nuff said.

Maybe theyre just concerned on starting him with mystical powers, or developing them over the season, and how quickly they want to develop those powers,because i cant imagine doing iron fist without dem chi powers. Whats the point. lol. Thats like making a daredevil show where daredevil can see, was never trained by stick, and uses tae bo for self defense. lol

Nah, if hong kong films can do wuxia films on budgets not even of that of a season of your average american tv show, they can do iron fist. They dont have to go all out with his powers, but to have the minimum of some flash, and chi powers wouldnt be a huge budget jump from even daredevil.

no its about opening that door…they’ve tried to keep the tv shows a bit more grounded. their just not sure if they wanna open that door just yet to the iron fist mystical stuff. its pretty easy to open the door and keep the budget down…its more about the stories they wanna tell and how they would fit into hells kitchen area.
