At first sight, I don’t buy this guy as Frank Castle, I would have liked Frank Grillo (Rumlow/Crossbones on The Winter Soldier) or Chris Tardio (detective Blake in Daredevil), too bad Marvel wasted their roles
I’m not sure if you’re talking about the actor or the character. If you mean the actor doesn’t have fight/stunt experience I understand, but it’s still ultimately the choreographer’s fault for making the fight look so fake and if you mean the character Daredevil himself is new then yeah sure he may be new, but it doesn’t mean he should be hitting air LOL.
I did like how he and the goons he fought all got exhaused as the fight went on that was a very nice touch, but like I said most of the actual punches and kicks themselves were just him hitting the air in front of them and it looked mad obvious so it failed to sell the illusion of looking realistic to me since it was poorly staged.
When I said BB formula I clearly meant how DD (at least so far as I’m only 4 episodes in) puts a realistic and gritty bent on DD the way BB did to Batman, the atmosphere, moral grey areas, the humanizing of how the myth of this hero we all know about (albeit to a lesser extent as DD is not as heavily ingrained in the public consciousness as Batboy is) are all very similar, hell the first action sequence we see DD in takes place on a dock of shipping containers exactly like BB, he even says “give me a name” sounding like Bale’s Batman lol. You’d have to be blind, deaf, and dumb to not see Nolan’s universe heavily influenced the look and feel of this show which is most definitely a good thing.
I’m loving the show so far, except for the 2 fight scenes I just hope the upcoming ones look more painful. impactful, and less fake than what I’ve seen thus far.
What I see is something that always been present in the character since Frank Miller’s run. Not really realistic but Daredevil is usually gritty and more grounded than most of other Marvel heroes. Read Frank Miller’s Man Without Fear. The show takes most of it’s cues from that book.
The director of TIH himself said that it’s not a sequel to the original but a reboot. The only similarity is that one ended in South America and TIH started in Brazil. Shoot even the way he became Hulk is completely different in both movies.
I like the Punisher choice though. This series was great and season 2 seems to be getting off to a great start. Flash and Daredevil restored my faith after the start of Arrow S3.
The fact is you had never even done with your homework and you said I was “a fucking idiot” for saying otherwise. You thought you were right because bullshit reasons other than evidence, and you were completely entitled to your shit opinion.
That you don’t know shit about the Marvel universe and you think you’re always right about it.
TIH thing was only one proof, but if you can argue for three pages of topic saying “I’m fucking right, you’re a fucking idiot” without presenting any proof because you’re not even informed, then how can someone take you seriously? Oh, and you still haven’t acknowledged you were wrong.
If they didn’t cast him as Crossbones I would have definitely been okay with him as the Punisher, he was already 90% the Punisher in Purge Anarchy and I enjoyed that movie and his performance in it.
