The show was mostly pointless. Episodes 6-7 they spend locked in the Police department and there’s just too much filler whatever garbage focus they give to secondary characters (specially Misty), it becomes boring as shit and a waste of time. This series could have cut all that crap and be a passable 6 episodes show.
Anyway, that Matt+Elektra romance is pure stupid garbage. Elektra is now even lower in the underworld of GARBAGE characters. She has never made sense or have any appeal. And Matt should fucking die because of his stupid obsession, he practically ruins the team and their mission.
Elektra ruined Daredevil S2 and now she ruined Defenders.
Episodes 2-5 were great but after that everything crumbles spectacularly in slow (and boring) motion.
I didn’t expect anything of the series, but this just confirms me even more that most of Marvel Netflix that came after Daredevil S1 is mostly stupid crap. Other than Punisher and Luke Cage S2, I don’t see myself giving a chance to any other show they produce for Netflix anytime soon…
I dug it. I’m not sure where I’ll place it in the rankings of the Netflix MCU shows right now but I’ll come up with the order after I watch it again. but I liked it…

I just… don’t get the deal about “The Black Sky” and why she was so important. Not just in this series but even in the comics. Breaking it down… it’s just a woman who’s really good at fighting. Big whoop. How did she have anything to do with The Hand getting eternal life/going back to K’un Lun? She eventually captured Danny but THAT WAS NEVER PART OF THE PLAN/DESTINY. The Iron Fist was supposed to open the door to return to K’un Lun. The Iron Fist was also supposed to destroy the Hand. The Chaste was supposed to oppose the Hand. The Hand was supposed to take over the world after they finally get immortality. WTH was The Black Sky’s purpose and why was it/she supposed to be so important?
Misty’s tits (or her bra) got fucking huge since Luke Cage.
The interpersonal interactions were definitely the highlight of the show.
But I did like a lot of the fights too. (Danny vs DD, Elektra vs Danny especially)

Pretty sure they had a little blurb about how the African dude knew how to attack internal organs making Luke’s skin useless. They seemed to be setting up a 1 on 1 fight between them after the restaurant scene, but then poof Luke was back with the dude all tied up. Feels like something they had to cut out unfortunately.
Elektra was pretty annoying, seemed really bipolar for a character who is supposed to be an emotionless killer, idk. Wasn’t really feeling the plot-induced super strength she got. Maybe she got it from the resurrection? It should have been explained more.
Danny was better than in IF, but seeing him lose every verbal argument against the villains is getting tiring. We need shit-talking Danny. I know it’s been said a thousand times over but man they need to just adapt Matt Fraction’s Immortal Iron Fist run. I’d kill for a couple episodes about Orson Randall and the Confederates of the Curious. They could even tell Wu Aoshi’s story to shut up the SJW’s.

I swear every time Danny talks all I hear is Ben Stiller in Dodgeball. Ripley was awesome as expected. Overall 8/10; if only because it requires you to have a working knowledge of the other Netflix MCU shows (especially Iron Fist) to truly appreciate it.

how is it casual…they dont know each other. luke is quick to judge people he doesnt know, especially iron fist who is so willing to kill or jail people who just happen to be in the way to get to the hand. luke is about harlem first, someone in dannys position can use his power to help but instead its about the hand first fuck everyone else second. Dannys anger blinds him, he has one singular focus and is his major character flaw. He’s a walkin greek tragedy. these traits have been well established in either comics or the shows prior to this.
Luke playing the white privilege card out of nowhere was a bit stupid, I have to agree with jae on that. Yeah, he played the rich boy card at the same time, but it came across as though he cared more about race, which was off-putting.
