(PLEASE DO PRE-REG IF YOU’RE CERTAIN YOU’RE GOING TO JOIN, this will save me ALOT of time. THANKS!) Please note its for Marvel’s Beatdown so we don’t get you mixed up with the old emails from previous tournaments!

FORMAT
Marvel vs Capcom 3 (Xbox 360)

Event and Venue Fees:
$10 Venue Fee IF YOU PRE-REGISTER (Read above for method)
$15 Venue Fee if you register the day of @ the door
You only have to pay venue fee once, even if you’re participating in both Singles and Teams
The venue is in the middle of Richmond, it has a huge open lot with lots of free parking, and skytrain accessable. So getting there shouldn’t be much of a hassle for most people. There are also TONS of food choices around the area for when you get hungry*
$10 Entry Fee for Singles Tournament, $10 for Teams (per team) as well.
(Entry Fees goes towards the pot for top 3 winners)

Tournaments

Singles:
Winners and Losers Brackets, Double Elimination
Each match is 2 out of 3, Winners / Losers / GrandFinals are 3 out of 5
In a set, winner keeps same character, losers can switch if they like.
If player pauses during a match or stops the game play, the opposing player has 3 choices: Play the match from the beginning, take a free win, let it rock. (If pauses during an Ultra animation it’s ok.)

Teams:
2 vs 2

In a set, winner keeps same character, losers can switch if they like.

SCHEDULE:
Registration starts at 12pm, games should start around 1pm, goes on till the evening, until 9pm’ish, depending on numbers of participants. We have a decent amount of volunteer workers so we will be trying to keep things running smoothly as much as possible.

A few other things,
Sorry guys but theres a no outside food or drinks agreement with the venue, they sell drinks and snacks at the counter at reasonable costs. Its Richmond so there are also lots of restaurants around the area that’s within walking distance.

Bring your own sticks! Or if you don’t have an Xbox I’m sure there’ll be someone who’ll be willing to lend you their sticks for a match or something.

All top8 matches will be recorded and highlights will be uploaded and posted.

Thanks for the heads up on the SSF4 part lol
There is no teams for this since it’s already 3vs3, but it should still be hella fun. We will see how the turn out is and if there is enough demand we may bring teams tourney to the next MVC3 tourny.

As for ruling on glitches and other shizzle I still have to discuss with my co-organizers who actually play the game, because I don’t :smiley:
We’ll be sure to make it as fair as possible though!

I too hope there’s a team tourney, even if it’s teams of 2. It also makes the venue fee more worth paying.

If we have enough time to run teams for 100+ entrants in SSFIV, you guys have enough time to run teams for MvC3.

I think we should run 3v3 teams. Otherwise, the tourney would be wayyyy too short.

Any idea about the number of participants right now?

Alrite we’ve decided to fit a 2vs2 teams tourney in there. Single elimination. Teams fee will be $10/team which goes towards the pot. If the turnout is well n it doesnt take too long to run we will consider making it 3vs3 in the upcoming mvc3 tourneys.

New to SRK, from Surrey here, I will try to make it out for the tourney. I haven’t been to this arcade though, is it by Lansdowne?

Gah Xbox format, I have a PS3. Is anyone coming with an arcade stick? I’d really like to come but I’m too used to the stick now.
