Here’s an experiment you can try yourself at home. Take a PS3 or Xbox 360 controller, and try to hit Square, Triangle and R1 at the same time. Now tell me if you can picture yourself wave dashing or push blocking like that.
It will be on console. Emulator, and arcade cabinet will be obsolete. If on the console version. THE VERSION CAPCOM THEMSELVES RELEASED (with macros), you refuse to play anyone who uses a macro binding with a keyboard or pad, then you’re just wussing out, I’m sorry, but everyone is going to have the same options available to them. You can’t expect someone who was playing on pad for 10 years to drop it and learn a different controller just because you dont like the fact that they have a macro available to them. If anything just ban certain combos that are made simplified with said macros. BAM, this is actually what we do on GGPO for people who complain.
It looks like we’re at the “agree to disagree” point of the discussion/argument…
I for one would defer to Spider-Dan here, but then again I know he’d destroy me 100000000-3 in MvC1, where the three games I win would be when he fell asleep.
I’d suggest further interesting discussion of this very well hammered upon point would be fairly well suited for the “strategy vs execution” thread.
macros dont matter, but allow macros
it doesnt matter if someone hits their combos 100% of the time, if i hit my combos 85% of the time ill wi–well, no one hits their combos 100% of the time LOL YOU TROLLING
I can’t help your intelligence if you didn’t understand the argument.
About the 3punches helping the war machine guard break, my whole point was that regardless if you use macros or not, there is no 100% accuracy, nobody times it or does it correctly every time, and its impossible to have 100% accuracy with it. Also i wasn’t even talking about the wm guard break. I was talking about all guard breaks, even the one with wolverine, and strider.
/debate
Anyways, I could beat everyone here in this game mopping them up and down the isles, and I still wouldn’t get any credit for it, simply bc I’m an online player. Not really any point in buying this game or playing on console when all the tops are on GGPO. I would play for friendly matches and stuff, and to revive the game but you all are stuck in some offline vs online rivalry mindset. I already deal with enough kiddie stuffs on GGPO.
You beat me soundly a few days ago, and I give you credit for it. That still doesn’t mean that macros don’t matter, or anything of the sort.
That being said:
ATTENTION PLEASE
I found the old rule posting for CMVCC, and the rules state that the tournament will be held on Turbo 2. Now, I vividly remember arguing with Viscant about why the tournament shouldn’t be on Turbo 2, and I ran this freaking tournament, but apparently I somehow lost this argument? Because the rules say it was Turbo 2.
So I’m here to eat my crow. Discard everything I said about Turbo 1 being the standard, as I have apparently replaced what did happen with I thought should happen.
Alright I have news for everyone. Capcom responded to my unity thread about the confusion about whether Turbo 2 was in or not, and they finally confirmed Turbo 2 is a selectable speed.
I guess my next question is how will this effect online. It would make sense to have T2 as the default online speed, as that’s the standard. Otherwise it’s gonna be a hassle with matches unless you can filter by speed, and even then a lot of people don’t know about the standard settings.
Pretty terrible lol. Horrible normals, abysmal damage, paper-thin health (same as RV IIRC); she’s pretty much every thing that’s wrong with Megaman thrown into a character. Only thing she can really do is stall with her flower bomb and tick throw.
after playing mvc1 nonstop for 3 days, I have to say…
I can see the appeal and where the drama comes from. This game is similar to MvC3 IMO in the sense that it’s a really good game at it’s core with superficial bullshit that ruined it on top.
-I really think the way they implemented pushblocking is better than MvC2 and 3. Negating the pushback from a hyper so you’ll be closer to punish is pretty genius.
-At first I thought I would be totally lost with 6 button Marvel, but hitting air combos is alot more fun when youre using all 3p/3k and not just LMH or 1-2-1-2
-The damage off of combos is big and feels good (although i will maintain that nothing feels more bossful than hitting a sent/cap lk. fly lk hp rocket punch)
-Venom is a fucking BAWSE
However, the game is really simple at a higher level. All attack angles are left to right or up and down unless you’re playing WM/GWM (which is why they are the best). Even Wolverine’s divekick is the straight down one and not the diagonal from xvsf. Nothing beats or trades with either WM’s down mk, so you have no options there (Cable would be great in this game). And two War Machine’s duo-ing War Destroyers for chip is both hilarious and retarded, like two phoenixes from vanilla mashing crouching light over and over.
Minus duos and WM’s knee priority, I think this game would be alot better. (I also lol’ed to myself at how awesome DHC’s would be in this game…colossus into venom web into proton cannon=gg) As it stands, I will play this enough to be decent because I do love the game as my first entry into the vs series and the one ive always wanted to learn, but this probably wont replace mvc2 for me
