Marvel vs. Capcom Origins coming to Xbox Live and PlayStation Network

In my experience all the real arcades in Seattle, just about, had a mvc1 machine. All the actual vesus games were fairly, just arcade owners just about always replaced them with their sequel when the time came.

MSH was relatively rare, as I remember it, as was cota

Going off of personal experience, MM vs GWM is pretty interesting in that it feels a lot like a classic Megaman boss fight. Megaman has the tools to beat GWM, but you really have to mind your spacing and respect GWM’s tools or else you’ll get peaced out. At worst I’d say it’s 6-4 in GWM’s favor.

Dopest thing about Rainier Beach Community Center had to be the Raiden Fighters 2, MVC1, MSH, Real Bout Special, Fatal Fury Special, KOF 98, KOF 96, and ST. They took damn good care of those machines to.

Now if theyd Just Release a Decent SuperTurbo Port…

Damn, can’t believe I actually skimmed through this thread. The shit talk is strong for this even before it comes out!

Anyways, just wanted to quickly address something as I think someone claimed something about me in this thread using keyboard or macros otherwise. I’ve never played this game on anything other than a stick in my life and I never play on GGPO or emulator of any kind. I own multiple arcade cabinets so why would I? Matter of fact, the demo at Evo is literally the first time I’ve played this game in any capacity since I bought my mvc1 board years ago and I was hitting WM flight semi-infinite easily, even with the lag and slow speed on that version. It never was hard and I have some terrible execution in a bunch of other games I play. Learning glove infinite manually for this version won’t be too bad IMO. Mostly everything aside from Wolverine dash infinite in this game is pretty simple with minimal practice and I’m sure this won’t be a problem either with some training mode time. I don’t even care anymore about 3p/3k bindings. Still, I think dismissing this as an advantage is pretty stupid considering the access to some of these combos with a lot less effort than is normally needed. The game was never built that way for arcades so it was never an issue there. It shouldn’t matter in the end against someone with proper experience in this game since they shouldn’t be letting people at that level touch them anyway. But I can see it being discouraging for casual players and anyone in general that doesn’t already understand how the game works coming in if someone that sucks otherwise is hitting some near impossible combos. That’s my 2 cents on the topic.

All I really care is that input and net lag is not a major issue and that turbo 2 is an option. If I can play this game offline on console with a proper port, that’s good enough for me and the online stuff is really just a bonus.

btw I kinda suck at this game in comparison to the real killers back in the day but I still know my way around and generally don’t lose to anyone I don’t already know was good at this game. If anyone with a chip on their shoulder ends up playing me online and loses, you’re gonna look really stupid. Preppy has played me before so he knows what’s up. Bobbypigo, I played against some of the CT cats way back when but never really got to play you while the game was hot. Hopefully we will run into each other online. Anyone that gave Eddie Lee a hard time in this game is someone worth playing IMO.

Also looking forward to playing some MSH properly. I never really got into the game since aside from a few matchups I always felt it was kinda boring, even with gems enabled. As soon as people learned the real combos, it was no fun after someone gets the first good hit. At least there are rounds here instead of a hit potentially turning into 200% damage. Hopefully I end up wrong here tho and there is more to it in the end.

Anyone know where i can find the old MvC1 Helper Combos Video? It was a pretty cool combo video showing off all of the assists in the game and how they aided in combos. If anyone can find this please let me know, thanks

Download GGPO and we can have a first to ten which I’ll upload to youtube. If you want I will play you minus macros, but like I said I’m a keyboard player.

The whole idea about not playing mvc on pc because it’s not true arcade is flawed because the console version is going to be GGPO and basically equivalent to the pc version. Just plug in your arcade stick and you’re set.

We can squash a LOT of these claims and stuff upfront before the game even comes out.

I’m extremely anxious to play you and bobbypigo simply because I’ve been on the road to surpass 2 players that I’m still not better than, and if you and bobbypigo somehow fit in there somewhere that would be a nice increase in competition.

Man all this talk, anyone wanna play some MSH right now? Fiending hard, didn’t get a chance to play yesterday or today yet.

I will put my 2 cents to this subject about macros.

I am a pad player, a stick player and a keyboard player. When it comes to me playing X-men vs Street Fighter, Marvel vs Capcom 1 & 2, Marvel Super Heroes and other games. I used macros before and it made EVERYTHING easy. Now, that I dropped the macro. It’s harder for me to execute them. Since then, I decided to level up without it. Macro is not a way to go because it won’t help me if I go to a cabinet or if there was a tournament and they banned a 1 button move.

Keyboard is NOT meant for fighting games nor should it ever be one. The fact that people uses a keyboard is because it’s in front of them or they don’t wanna spend a few bucks on buying a pad/stick to use it. Don’t bitch about it because it’s your fault. Pad is a standard controller and it’s universal. It isn’t meant for every game. You either use it and deal with it or buy the right tool to mobilize against players.

I went against NeonStormQueen in X-men vs Street Fighter and she does good with macro. Without it, she’s ass and won’t be able to do anything if it was disabled. Because, that requires a 3button to tri-dash and dash and push block and what not. Yet, she have a difficult time ROM’ing when it comes to Marvel vs Capcom 2…Yet, it takes 2 punches to do a tri-dash, dash, and push block…

If you’re going to bitch about “I’m a pad player…I need my macro or else…I can’t execute my shit.” Well, tough luck…Better step it up on a pad and stop bitching. There are NO excuses.Level up with your pad or just play a different game (hello kitty adventure 30495).

I’m pretty sure that the HitBox people would say otherwise.

I know a couple people that just plain prefer to play on KB, some pretty legit. Especially UMK players.

that wolvie uncombo is such a beast fuckin combo

okay so imma re-ask my other questions since they still havent gone answered:

is there anything with spiderman I should know?

also

are there any moves that trade or beat WM’s normals while in the air? (talking about knee, down fierce, etc)

There is a lua script out there that will help you on this.

Sven’s replied on the Turbo 2 topic on Unity. Says he’s shot Derek an email regarding this.

a step in the right direction? hopefully we get an update soon

@jed: idk what that means o_O

Hopefully this’ll get addressed. I mean, while 3SOE had problems, most of those were stuff that wasn’t caught before release. A good chunk of minor things pointed out in the forums actually did get addressed.

The Hitbox is designed for fighting games tho. Yes, it does have the style of a keyboard. However, it have a better accuracy to respond vs a keyboard (which is limited).

I hate just posting pics but oh well.

Last thing you want to do is try to trade or stuff normals vs war machine in the air. Just super jump and chicken block then counter out of the blockstun or hit him before he hits you.

With spiderman, you basically need to be quick on your feet, dash in with low attacks (something weird about spidermans hitboxes allow him to beat a lot of people on the ground) and end your air combos with fierce, smacking them down. This sets up the wakeup mixup where you come down through the air almost as a meaty attack as they stand up, and you can alter your trajectory in the air to land to the left or right of them and they basically have to block correctly. This tactic was pioneered on kaillera since it was basically unblockable in the 3-8ms delay, and it’s still strong on ggpo.

The only issue with a keyboard is that some have a hard cap on the number of buttons that can be pressed at the same time (and ergonomics). The same factor that makes the HitBox really good (buttons for directions) is still there.
