Need a coach?
No coaching son
Hey they didn’t say coaching isn’t allowed, yet.
Coach me, NickGuy is already good at fighting games.
Lord Raptor can be my coach trollface
anyways, no one ever posted and spidey combos. also, my question about war machine went unanswered as well
Yo, this shit is fierce.
I like it.
Wish the scene could keep a fire like this.
Here’s what I wanna know: Why’s it a bad thing for pad players to have macros, when stick users can have them as well? It’s not like pad players would now have an unfair advantage (whereas without macros, they have an unfair disadvantage).
lets not bring this shit back up plz we just got done arguin about it. its a stupid debate lets just leave it as is. No disrespect to u but just let that shit go.
But to anwser your question its because there were only 6 buttons used in the arcade and i think someone mentioned before that you cant use 8 buttons on a stick during a tournaments.
I just read the whole 7 pages of this thread. It was quite entertaining.
On a lighter note, how viable is Mega Man in MvC1? If I were to play Mega Man/Spider-Man or Mega Man/Strider Hiryu (with any assist, whichever’s the best), would I get my ass pwned online?
I believe it’s already been stated that in terms of tiers, he’s worse than he was in MvC2. Long story short, no Cable, no CapCom assist means that he might as well go back to the moon.
I’ve never played MvC2 either so I have no basis for comparison, but I’ll take that as a “no”. Bummer. I guess I’ll just go back to MvC3, where Zero is top tier.
You can play him, but it is a lot of work. If you can get Rockball out without Megaman dying and get the zoning going (hint: use Colossus), he’s actually not that bad of a character. Rockball lets you control space, set up crossups, even gets you out of trouble sometimes. Knowing when and when not to use the buster goes a long way in not getting blown up with him. I’d say he’s a solid mid-tier character; he doesn’t outright suck (coughJincough), but he still has to work hard against the top tiers.
Thanks for the info Prep.
So whats the word on this Turbo1 Turbo2 issue? Is it in fact locked to Turbo1?
In fact, I am really having trouble remembering what speed we played this game at arcade tourneys. Anyone have any proof or citation that shows what we used to play this at?
I freaking love MSH. And even I know no one will play this after a few weeks. The only thing good about this game its an arcade port and You can play with Thanos and Doc Doom with no codes. Only godlike thing about it…and Jojos…capcom wrong for that shit. 20 bux for a damn near 20 year old game. No sir. You got me, jesus, and coach all the way fucked up, Fapcom.
95% sure it was Turbo 2.
Megaman is playable in casuals or against noobs. He’s a zoning character with not too impressive combo potential. His best bnb is his air combo into super, which does around like 50% damage. He has 3 supers:
Hyper Megaman (qcf, PP)
Beat Plane (qcb, KK) (In air ok)
Drill (qcf, KK)
He’s also one of the few characters who can combo off of his air throw, which I’m like 95% sure is unrollable in time to avoid being otg’d. Chun and hulk also have this ability. Megaman can extend his combos this way as well using air throws as resets, and then going into super or something in the air for big damage. The problem is that he can’t really compete with the higher tier characters. Wolverine can shut him down fairly easily by closing the distance and raping his defense up close. Megaman vs GWM sounds interesting but there are no top players who seriously tried to main megaman, so we probably won’t ever see how that would play out, but I did have a couple well known players tell me he does well vs GWM.
Megaman is comparable to spiderman in the sense that their only real bad matchups are the top tier characters, and even then it’s not really as bad as you might think. I won a first to ten recently using spiderman as anchor.
Young as shit…
Marvel 2 machines were everywhere at it’s peak…
You mean like never? Wow…
Yeah prolly…
MvC2 is still relatively popular… at least online because everybody played it…
I don’t know how many people came into contact with MvC1 when it first came out…
maybe he lives in some shitty-ass town down south where arcades dont exist.
I had an MvC1 cab at work and Tom and Tony showed me all the dirty shit they learned online. I’m going to get killed, but I’m going to play this game at least until somebody ragequits against unblockable Devilot+Kikosho.
