Macros are not playing the game becuase you remove the margin of failure. If you decide to play on a keyboard or pad or some shit WHEN THE GAME WAS NOT MADE FOR THE CONTROLLERS IN THE FIRST PLACE then you deal with the margin of failure or go buy yourself an arcade stick. Should there be an auto SRK button becuase players who play with a driving wheel can’t do it consistently? Should I add an insta headshot button on my pad for counterstrike becuase it is too hard to aim with a stick? If you are playing on a controller not optimized for the game that you are playing on, than boo hoo that is your fault.

mvc1 is going to be a shitfest if 3p is integrated and msh will get a lot more boring with unpushblockable wolv ground inf 3p’ed

Don’t know who you are, but I’m not hated at all by most people on ggpo. Really the only enemies I have are TK, Joker, and DC. Jeff and I had a fall-out but we’re fine again. The mexicans who don’t even speak english can hate on me or troll me all they like because I’m a good player. Everyone hates the best players. I’ve stopped acting out on ggpo like 2 years ago. Shit is like a big joke to me. Consider this. The players and people whom I respect most on GGPO, I am friends/close with. So I have no reason to try and be friends with someone who tries to troll me on there. I come to play not to socialize.

Also, I’m not sure why you act like any of that would take away any credibility to anything I have to say regarding this game.

I like how you ignore every single point people have made supporting macros just to say that with absolutely no detail. You aren’t even an mvsc 1 player so what would you know about that anyway?

Thats why mvc was released on sega dreamcast right? Because people play with sticks on sega dreamcast? What about ps1? Everyone must have used an arcade stick for ps1 right. Your logic is stupid as hell. What you said about not being able to aim isn’t even comparable in the slightest. Cheat because you don’t have the skill vs, use a shortcut because it’s physically impossible to hit 3p manually on pad every time comfortably at least.

This argument is flawed as hell but whatever. (They release FPSs on consoles too, some of which {quake} are infinitley easier to go competitive on the PC) I don’t play MvC1 anymore so it isn’t my problem. If you want your macros, keep um, I was just stating my opinion on that matter.

So then why do they make pads for fighting games in the first place?

/argument

why the fuck did someone make a pet rock?

answer: to make money

you live in NY. Go to yell yipes your ideas about how binding buttons is fair for pad players. I’m sure that will go over smoothly.

binding buttons prevents simple mistakes from becoming a factor pure and simple. Who cares if you play on pad\kb, you’re still preventing yourself from making simple mistakes the worlds best players have routinely made in tournament play. While it may be 100% simple to execute, no one ever does it right 1,000,000 for 1,000,000 where as a binded button can give you that high ass percentage

Actually, no.

They made pads because a lot of people prefer pads to arcade sticks. Doesn’t mean that a game isn’t made for pad. That doesn’t even make sense.

And I live in New Orleans.

I see this just turned into a pad vs stick debate. Smh

If a pad player really REALLY wants to play this seriously they can get one of those Madcatz fight pads. This is like bitching about not being able to use your Genesis 6-Pad in arcades, you learn to deal.

“i can do the combos without macros, so it doesnt matter, but put macros in”

LOL WTF

so i cant play seriously with my dualshock 3?

sure you can.

archiles played mvc2 on a dreamcast controller without macros, and carlos played mvc2 on a pad without macros too

its possible to be competetive without bindings

Sorry mvc2 used 2 punches for dashing and push blocking, mvc2 literally doesn’t even need macros.

and this game totally does

Doesn’t MVC1 require 3 buttons to dash and push block?

I know it requires all 3 to fly/unfly.

3 to dash and pushblock, 2 for hyper, 1 for fly/unfly

Why argue about macros for this game and not for others? What’s so special about this one compared to other Arcade games that got ported and gave macro options?

Those macro options were only intended for testing purposes for the programmers.
